We have decided to sell our beloved 1985 300D Mercedes Turbo Diesel that will run all day and all night on diesel or bio-diesel and/or waste vegetable and get 25 to 30 mpg. These cars are known to get over a million miles and this beauty has just 175,000 miles. She has been serviced regularly and is a safe and reliable daily driver. This specific car has been the subject of discussion on many radio shows as well as been featured in News paper articles. Essentially this 300D has been used in the Real Estate Industry. My wife who is the primary driver is an Evergreen award winner meaning, she is a Nationally recognized GREEN realtor. We have owned this vehicle for about 7 years and we purchased it as a promotional tool specifically to run on Diesel and/or Waste vegetable oil that I myself would process from my home. In order for us to use this Mercedes along side a brand new Mercedes we needed to first find the very best 1985 Mercedes 300D available. Obviously we could not drive a well used 25 year old Mercedes Diesel in South Orange County. This vehicle had to be showroom condition and it was.....and still is today! After a very long search we found what we believe to be one of the very best in the country at the time and we found it right here in California. We purchased the Mercedes from a Mercedes Engineer and was carefully covered in dry storage for many years. The rest is history About the car... This 300D is in, close to like new condition, excellent inside and out as well as mechanically. It was repainted 6 years ago, there are no scratches or dings and the paint shines. The roof was showing a flat spot so it was just painted last week by the same shop that we have used for years. There are a couple of tiny blemishes in the paint but I would give it a 9.5 out of 10. Interior is also 9.5+ out of 10, no tears in seats, no splits in the dash, wood trim is exceptional 2 sets of OEM Carpets are included in Black and tan, exceptional. Naturally, The Black set is more practical so the tan set we removed and kept stored. Mechanical New brakes and slotted rotors front and back were just installed about 100 miles ago. Radiator was replaced at 150,000 miles Complete new OEM Mercedes Compressor dryer and AC system installed at 150,0000 AC Blows cold. In addition to the regular Diesel tank, there is a 10 gallon tank in the trunk that takes, Diesel, Vegetable Oil or Bio diesel. The processing equipment comes with the vehicle however you can choose what you would like to run this car on....your choice!.....Recently we just went finished 300 gallons of vegetable oil so we have been filling both the rear tank and the regular gas tank with Diesel for huge fuel range. It is very difficult to describe this car because it is such a beautiful and exceptional example. It really needs to be seen and I can assure you this has to be one of the best 1985 Mercedes 300D on the market today. The price I am asking is very low and it includes all the WVO processing Equipment that I have about $2000 into. There is also over $1000 of work into the vehicle to enable it to run on the optional fuels. "The equipment was installed by a Diesel Engineer in Torrance" This is a car that you can drive and easily maintain for many years to come and still sell for as much or more than you paid for it. Its a no brainer of an investment. The bad!....Its a very short list. there is a loose wire in the harness that runs through the grommet in the drivers side rear passenger door. Therefor the driver and rear right side passenger window is not rolling down. This did happen about 6 years ago and cost $75 to fix. It seems to have come loose again. I have not had time to have it looked at because it was in the paint shop. The rear window tint is starting haze, I believe we were told this would happen eventually when they installed it due to the rear window defroster....I believe was what they told us at the time. The other windows are perfect its just the rear window. This Mercedes has been worked on in the past by Hi-line Mercedes out of Orange, CA and they have told us this is one of the very best they have ever seen. I believe this particular car was loaded with every available option at that time, Automatic Sunroof, Cruise control, etc. Feel free to contact me with questions or more specific photos that you may want taken.. Following is the information on the WVO Equipment.. WVO Waste Vegetable Oil cleaning processing equipment I have here my Custom designed WVO, Waste Vegetable Oil processing equipment. It was designed and built in around 2010 and there was a story on it in the Orange County Register. Here is the link: ocregister.com/articles/oldroyd-328327-car-oil.html There are 2 x insulated 55 gallon drums with drum heaters. The first drum on the right side allows you to pour really nasty vegetable oil and let it settle while the contaminants sink to the bottom where upon there is a waste discharge valve to pour waste from the lower level. If you choose to speed up the process the drum heater will heat the oil very quickly to where it is steaming hot and very fine and again the waste will sink to the bottom very quickly. When the 55 gallons are ready there is a transfer pump on the lower right that will pump the oil into the left side drum. There is a drum heater on the left side drum too. The process is a centrifuge system using centrifugal force similar to the centrifuge on a big rig that cleans the air brake fluids. The centrifuge is powered by a second pump which pulls from the bottom and cycles around and discharges at the top. The second pump can process about 55 gallons in about 25 minutes but in turn it can clean the oil down to just one or two Microns depending how many times you polish or cycle the oil. Typically I will cycle it 4 or 5 times. When the oil is ready we have a 3rd pump which is the middle pump, this pushes the oil through a water separator and then through a final 10 micron sock type filter in the blue canister, through the filter out of the gas pump trigger and hose. The system works beautifully and will polish oil very much finer than a cartridge or filter system. All in all I have around $2000 plus in parts. Everything works flawlessly. This system will process thousands of gallons of fuel with very little maintenance and pay for itself in no time. OVER THE YEARS I HAVE PURCHASED AND SOLD SEVERAL PERSONAL CARS AND MOTORCYCLES ON EBAY SO I AM COMFORTABLE ACCOMODATING A SHIPPER BEINT TO MY LOCATION TO PICK UP VEHICLE AND WVO EQUIPMENT. I MAY CONSIDER SEPERATING THE WVO EQUIPMENT FROM THE VEHICLE IF LOGISTICS IS A BIG ISSUE ANd OR THE EQUIPMENT IS NOT WANTED!... I have a 2006 Black Mercedes E-350 that I am looking to sell. It is a great car that has been sitting in my garage and I am hoping to pass this onto another owner. The car is in great shape. There is a slight split of the leather in the seam of the back seat and the pocket behind the drivers seat could use a repair. The car has 84,497 miles on it and has been services every 3,000 miles since I have owned it. I bought the car from Mercedes-Benz of Marin with 20,000 miles on it. This unique 1981 Mercedes 300sd Turbo Diesel with 4 speed automatic transmission runs great.. This car has a wild paint job and custom interior and is registered with the Clean Air Cities Corp of America.... It has a vegetable conversion by Greasecar Veggie Conversions...Comes with all the pumps, lines,filters and separate tank in the trunk.. This system uses a copper line encased in heater house that heats up the veggie line all the way back to the trunk. where the auxiliary tank is located...The tank is round and is in the spare tire compartment in the trunk..See Pics.. I honestly have not used the vegi system ..I bought the vehicle with the system but was unfamiliar with it... I have heard you start on the diesel and when you reach operating temp then you turn on the vegi system.. Then before you turn it off you switch back to diesel to flush out the veggie from the injectors and such.... I have only used the factory diesel tank for fueling this .The pumps seem to work and there is an on /off switch..as well as a separate veggie fuel level gage below the dash on passenger side..This system cost approximately about $1500 -$2500 installed.. The system might need to be sorted out by an expert...All there and intact.. The air conditioning isn't coming on but the system is all in tact and the heater and blower work fine... All the windows and sun roof are power and work..The power door locks are operated by vacumn but not working due to there is a leak in that system... This is a daily driver and I have only used regular diesel, although there is a full tank of veggie oil in the trunk still. This car has clean Ca. title and is currently registered,no smog required...... Car shifts fine ,runs cool,stops great...This vehicle is 34 years old so some things may come up due to age.. and test drives and inspections are encouraged.....I just put 5 new glow plugs and did oil change..Starts Quickly. 1983 Mercedes-Benz 300SD Turbo Diesel This Mercedes-Benz 300SD sedan has always been very well kept. I am the 2nd owner! Previous owner was a Mercedes club member and if anything ever needed to be replaced, it was with a genuine OEM part. No rust! No accidents! Great factory color combination! This 300SD is truly one of a kind. You will not find another 300SD with the unique upgrades this vehicle has because they simply do not exist, or if they do, they're definitely not on the market. Even though this car came with a factory leather interior, it's been taken to the next level with an upgraded interior, including the door panels that carry leather inserts from a 1991 model. Additionally, a complete set of burl wood has been installed that makes the dash look amazing. The dashboard is in perfect condition, and it really puts the cherry on top, aesthetically speaking. Original carpet in very good condition, both inside the cabin and in the trunk. Air Conditioning and blower motor work well with all new vacuum elements. Radio is original and in good working order with its factory Hirschmann antenna. Engine runs great and transmission shifts as new. Suspension is tight with no rattles or squeaks. The exterior was professionally painted by a quality shop in its factory silver color. The paint job was neither easy, nor inexpensive, but the results speak for themselves. Along with the afformentioned interior upgrades, the exterior trim was also updated to the 1991 style. Brand new tires all the way around. Windshield was replaced with a Sekurit brand windshield. The 300SD was the most expensive diesel sedan of its day and this one drives like a brand new car, and even better than some new cars for that matter. The 300SD's 5 Cylinder Turbo engine has proven to be one of the best engines ever manufactured due to its durability, reliabilty, and mechanically simple design. It's no wonder these sedans made Mercedes-Benz world famous. They are truly built to last forever. You could literally jump right in and drive coast to coast without the worry of encountering car trouble along the way. And with the updated European headlights and bumpers, you'd be riding in a 300SD that is subtly distinct from all others out there. I highly encourage you to come out and see it in person and really get the real feel for it. You will not find a better car out there. We have a buyer inspection report from the Mercedes-Benz dealer that lists all that they see wrong with the vehicle, which basically amounts to a wet power steering gear box, a wet transmission (though NOT leaky), and a minor oil leak, commonly found on most of these diesel cars after surpassing 100,000 miles.
