FIRST LET ME START BY SAYING I AM NOT WELL VERSED ON DISPLAYING THE CAR AS WELL AS PROFFESIONAL DEALERS, SO I WILL PRESENT THE CAR AS WELL AS I KNOW HOW, WHICH TO ME IS A GOOD THING SINCE I KNOW WHAT I LIKE OR DON'T LIKE ABOUT THE CAR, FIRST THE GOOD THINGS (MY OPINION).THE CAR HANDLES GREAT AND IS A BLAST TO DRIVE.ALTHOUGH USED THE CAR MECHANICALLY HAS BEEN AN EXCELLENT DRIVER, WHEN I HAD ALL THE DRIVE TRAIN FLUIDS REPLACED THERE WAS AN O-RING REPLACED IN THE TRANSMISSION LINKAGE (COMMON PROBLEM) OTHER THAN THAT ROUTINE MAINTAINANCE. SPARK PLUGS REPLACED, OIL CHANGES ETC. EVERTHING ON THE CAR WORKS AS IT SHOULD.THE HARDTOP CONVERTIBLE IS AWSOME FROM BOTH AN APPEARANCE AND WATCHING IT DO IT'S THING. I DID HAVE TO REALIGN A LIMIT SWITCH ONCE BECAUSE IT DID NOT WORK.THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR OF THE CAR IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE, FEW MINOR SCRATCHES HERE AND THERE HARDLY NOTICABLE TO THE NAKED EYE. THIS IS A WEST COAST CAR SO NO RUST WHATSOEVER. WHEEL OPTIONS AVAILABLE FROM MERCEDES ARE HORRIBLE AND QUITE UGLY. NICE CUSTOM WHEELS FOR THE MERCEDES ARE LIMITED FOR THE SLK350 BUT THE WHEELS I FOUND FOR THE CAR $3000 REALLY LOOK GREAT AND SET THE CAR APART FROM ITS PEERS.WHEN PURCHASING SPECIALTY CARS LIKE THESE, OWNERS ARE VERY PICKY ON TAKING GOOD CARE OF THEM BECAUSE IT IS NOT YOUR EVERYDAY MINIVAN FAMILY HAULER =O). I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY TOYS.AFTERMARKET PARTS ARE READILY AVAILABE FOR THESE CARS AND THERE ARE GREAT MECHANICS OUT THERE SERVICING MERCEDES FOR A FRACTION OF THE COST FOR WORKING ON THEM.MOST OF THE MILES DRIVEN HAVE BEEN HIGHWAY MILES, I WOULD SAY 75%. NOW THE THINGS I DON'T ESPECIALLY CARE FOR:ALTHOUGH THE CAR CAN ACCOMODATE MY 6'1" BODY WELL, IT HAS GROWN SMALL TO ME SO I BOUGHT A NEW 2015 VETTE TO REPLACE IT. BELIEVE IT OR NOT THE MERCEDES BECAUSE OF ITS SMALLER SIZE SEEMS TO HANDLE AS GOOD OR BETTOR IN SOME CASES THAN THE VETTE.THE TRUNK IS VERY SMALL AND LIMITED TO SMALL LUGGAGE AND NO GOLF CLUBS.NEVER TAKE THE CAR TO THE MERCEDES DEALER FOR SERVICE, TOO MUCH MONEY AND NOT TOO BRIGHT WHEN IT COMES TO FIXING THINGS. DEALERS DO NOT FIX BUT REPLACE ANYTHING THAT GOES BAD WHICH IN SOME CASES CAN BE VERY,VERY EXPESIVE. EG THE O-RING THAT WAS REPLACED IF IT WENT TO A DEALER, THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE O-RING BUT THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION UGH.
