2002 Mercedes Benz SLK 320 Review by the NADAguides Test Drive Team Right out of the box, the Mercedes-Benz SLK won North American Car of the Year honors. That was in 1997, and the little German roadster has gotten better and better ever since. The Mercedes-Benz SLK underwent a major makeover for the 2001 model year with redesigned exterior, interior and with the addition of an optional V6 engine. For 2002, Standard equipment includes state-of-the-art safety equipment as electronic stability control and side-impact airbags. Heated mirrors and a Bose sound system come standard, along with high-performance tires and front and rear fog lights. The SLK 320 adds the V6 engine, wood trim for the interior, power seats and a telescoping steering wheel. With a 215-horsepower normally aspirated V6 engine, it is $44,800. New for 2002 is a redesigned Sport option package ($4,200) for the SLK320.

This is a 2006 Mercedes-Benz 350SLK, with only 48,580 miles! Garage kept in winter, and well maintained. VIN #WDBWK56F16F101596. Looks and handles beautifully, and fast, and really hugs the road. The retractable top at the push of a button is a great feature, and when nights get chilly the "neck scarf", which blows warm air on the back of your neck, is really appreciated. Tires look good. Some cosmetic scratches on side of front license plate from parking misjudgments. Very minor. We are just getting into the best convertible weather. Feel free to ask any questions, and I'll do my best to answer.

THIS THE ONE YOU'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!!!!!!! A Texas car, now located in Northern Virginia, that I bought in 2002 from Ewing Mercedes, in Plano, Texas when it had 17,000 miles on it. This is a very unusual 230 SLK, as it was the "Texas Edition", and is not seen very often as the dealers configured the cars with options not seen on the rest of the SLK line. The specific differences are 1. 17 inch special wheels and low profile tires replacing the standard 16 inch wheels and tires2. Chrome Exhaust extension3. Burlwood shift knob4. Burlwood treatment to the dash, console, and door panels5. Color keyed leather covered roll bars matching the interior instead of the standard rubber roll bars6. Placard on the trunk lid7. Rear spoiler Additionally, the car is fully optioned as you can tell from the buttons on the dash, including heated seats, headlight washers, original factory air compressor in the trunk to inflate a flat tire, the original analog factory phone (now a collector's item?) anti-tow alarm, 6 disc CD changer, etc etc etc., and best of all it's in the most elegant and desirable color of black with the two tone charcoal and light grey interior. I never planned to sell this car, but I'm now in my mid sixties and have retired in the Lake Chapala area of Mexico. Since this is a non NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) car, not being built in Canada, the US or Mexico (it was built in Germany), as a permanent resident here in Mexico I can't legally import it. It was in Texas almost all of it's life, and has only been in Northern Virginia the last few years, and has no rust whatsoever. Additionally, there has never been any body or paint work to this top down fun in the sun car. I have been a collector and restorer of classic cars as a hobby for most of my life and this car was treated to the same care, maintenance, and attention to detail that my collector cars enjoyed. The two most common problems with the SLKs are the door locking control module and the propensity for the hydraulics on the top mechanism to leak. Both of this items have been tended to with a new door lock module, and the hydraulics have had new seals installed, so it's fully ready to lower the top and enjoy the sunshine. Currently the vehicle has 159,000 miles on the odometer, but can't be distinguished from a car with less than half that mileage due to the exceptional care and frequent maintenance. There are no mechanical issues whatsoever with this car......the only things are very minor rock chips on the hood, and the drivers rear view mirror just recently started to show some small signs of delamination. If I were up there I would have replaced the glass in the mirror as that is a easy fix. It is fresh out of the detail shop where the paint was compounded, buffed, and then sealed with Carnuba wax, in addition to having the full leather interior and carpeting being attended to. It's a joy to drive, and since they all were supercharged, the pickup is fantastic in addition to being economical to operate. The car is currently with a family member, with a clean title and although cashiers checks used to be fine, the number of fraudulent checks attempting to be passed has caused me to accept only wire transfer or cash for the balance, as a $500.00 Paypal deposit will secure the purchase for the winning bidder.....I sure you understand. NO RESERVE This car is rock solid.....bid with confidence. I have a vonage toll free line here in Mexico (703 496 3101) if you need any further information. The car is currently located in Reston Virginia and is available for viewing if desired. It is also for sale locally and the auction COULD be terminated early.
