A European version that was imported to California in the early 1970s, this 250SE is a clean and presentable example that can either be enjoyed as-is or viewed as an incredibly solid and original platform that can be taken to the next level. The gorgeous two-tone Blue Metallic and Silver Grey Metallic finish has its share of minor imperfections, however none of them are significant enough to really appear in any of the pictures. The body is entirely straight with consistent and correct panel fits and gaps throughout and no evidence of any accidents or bodywork. All of the glass and chrome remains in good original condition and the wheels are wrapped in tires with plenty of remaining tread. Always well cared for and properly garaged, the car’s undercarriage in entirely solid with no harmful rust or corrosion to speak of. The car’s interior is equally as clean, the seats, carpets and interior panels all in great shape and showing only limited wear. The wood interior trim could stand refinishing, the car retains its original Becker radio and the car’s headliner is in good original condition. The car is also mechanically sound, the original engine firing up easily, idling consistently and pulling strongly through each of the automatic transmissions’ gears. Compression is good across all cylinders, the brakes function as they should and the car is joy to drive, whether tooling through town or bombing down the highway. This is the first era of Mercedes’ classic cars that are adequately powered and advanced enough that they can be comfortably and reliably driven in modern highway conditions, and we wouldn’t hesitate to drive this car anywhere. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a solid, beautiful and mechanically strong appreciating classic. Heckflosse (fin tail) W111 coupes are one of the most timelessly elegant cars that Mercedes ever produced, and in our opinion they’re also one of the most undervalued investment grade cars on the market today, as their convertible and eight cylinder kin continue to break sale records at nearly every collector car auction in the annual circuit. Just in to our dealership - Nice decent classic 1972 Mercedes-Benz W114 250C 2-Door Hardtop Coupe. This is a beautiful timeless Mercedes-Benz, and these are getting more and more collectible each and every year. There's TONS of pictures below in a slideshow - Scroll down please. See Info Below: Engine does have a knock or timing chain noise, I'd rebuild it.Interior is in decent shape and shows signs of some wear & tear.Seat belts for drivers & passengers seats needs to be replaced as they are frayed.Headliner is in good shape, with some minor cleaning needed.Seats are in good shape, with minor wear & tear, needs cleaning.Carpet is in decent shape, with minor wear & tear, needs cleaning.The body does have some dings/dents/scratches/scuffs, but over-all not bad for the age of this vehicle. MIGHT be all original? The undercarriage looks OK, but can't really get under there with out a lift (see pictures below).Trunk is OK, does have some aftermarket stereo stuff in there, and has some wear & tear. All hubcaps looks good, has some minor dents/scratches/scuffs, etc. Windows are clear, nothing broken or chipped as I can tell. Haven't checked the A/C to see if it works or not, looks complete? Checked some of the lights, so far I only see the front fog lights don't turn on (bulbs?).
