I am selling a 1987 Mercedes Benz 190E as is. The car is usually used as a grocery getter. It has no mechanical issues and it has never been in an accident. The water pump, battery, and windshield wiper are brand new. The transmission fluid has been flushed and the transmission fluid filter has been replaced. All four tires are new too.There are a few scratches, paint chips, and dents on the car. But it's not that noticeable. There are also cracks on the dashboard and a tear on the drivers seat.

The early model 190E's have a thin body trim and is much more appealing in my opinion rather than the thick body skirt look of the 190E's from 1989-1992. 1988 was the last year with the thin body trim, but first with tilt sunroof standard, as well as the "check engine light" ODB1 computer diagnostic system, only equipped on california cars. Let alone to mention the astonishing color combo of 702 Smoke Silver Metallic and 175 Creme Beige MB tex vinyl. This car is 100% original quality paint and interior. The steering wheel is firm and thick, not soft and squishy from years left out in the california sun. The horsehair in the seats are firm and comfortable, just as they were brand new in 1988. The dash is very clean, yet shows 3 small cracks near the speakers from age sadly. The air conditioner cools you immediately to comfort. The instrument cluster flaunts slightly faded orange needles but overall in outstanding condition. You will not find 1 single stain on any square inch of the carpets or seats on the entire interior, no food is allowed inside the vehicle. The car does not smell as some older Mercedes-Benz do, but a pleasant clean smell. The original radio and antenna function 100%. All 8 glass windows on the vehicle are original Sekurit or Sigla, with 1 blemish to the drivers side windshield which has been "glue" patched at some point. The vehicle comes with a nice large stack of original dealership 1988 190E brochures as well as manuals, and original dealership license plate insert from Caliber Motors in Anaheim Hills in 1988. The handling, shocks, and suspension, are ever so tight much as a Mercedes-Benz can be expected to feel. All door and body panels exemplify their original VIN# sticker, except the right rear quarter panel, the trunk lid, and rear bumper, were all replaced by Mercedes-Benz in 1997 [hence the european warning triangle in the trunk lid] No noticeable body works signs whatsoever. FLAWS: Unfortunately with any vehicle 27 years old, flaws are expected. Although there are hardly any major flaws on this car. Now I understand that the new owner may be purchasing this 190 from several miles away, and a pre-purchase viewing will only be initiated if the car fits such criteria, which i will try my best to expose in the photos. ***Please note, vehicle was purchased with all damage previously done***1. 3 deep Scuff/Scratch; Lower left rear quarter panel and left rear corner of bumper.2. This one has a RIEGER body kit with much better Quality than the One's offered on Ebay or Other sites, the paint is about 3 years old still looks really nice, the body kit has 3 really small little minor cracks on in the rear bumper, one in the front bumper, and one by the rear right side door. the rear window on the right doesn't roll down and the A/C needs service, everything else works just fine even the cruise control. The Interior was done to fully replicate the Evo II interior, RECARO SEATS FRONT & BACK WITH BRAND NEW GERMAN LEATHER. Also the carpet was replace with Dynamat all over the floor pans and rear seat & trunk area. The sound system is 6 speakers 4 tweeters, One 10'' Nakamichi Bazooka with his own amp, and a Kenwood Unit Cd player with USB, and a 900 Watts Kenwood Amp. The tires & 17" Wheels are about a month old with Yokohama's all around . The car runs great , the engine runs smooth and the transmission shifts nice too, no leaks at all and the brakes are new in the front with high performance cross drill rotors, all the hoses have been replaced along with the wires & cap & rotor and spark plugs. In 1954, Mercedes introduced its two-door 190SL at the New York Auto Show. Fifteen months later the production version was displayed at the 1955 Geneva Auto Show.  This is one of only 1727 units made in it's inaugural year, 1955.   The car became very popular, outselling it's higher end counter part - the 300SL - by eight to one.  The 190SL production run lasted from 1955 through 1963. Most of the body-styles were open roadsters the rest were coupes. Under the hood is an 1897 cc four-cylinder OHC engine that was capable of producing around 105 horsepower. It took 14.5 seconds to go from zero to sixty and had a top speed of nearly 110 mph. Drum brakes were placed on all four corners of the 14 foot, one inch vehicle. Servo brakes were optional until 1956 at which point they became standard. In comparison to many other nameplates, this is a very low number, guarantying its exclusivity and rarity in today's standards. It was a beautiful sibling to the prestigious and awe-inspiring gullwing door 300SL.   The restoration of this beautiful example was completed in 2012.  It is a 3 owner, numbers matching car, documented by Mercedes Benz.  Much care has been taken to ensure originality in the restoration process, from the original Bosch headlight trim rings down to the original spare and jack in the trunk.   The problematic Solex carburetors have been replaced with Webers to improve drive-ability, but the original carbs come with the car.  The 1955 year was unique in that it has the goldwing style seats, making this first production year even more collectible.  The car runs and drives great, with only a few hundred miles on it since restoration.  A show stopper from any angle that would make any collection proud.

Inspection by appointment before auction close welcomed. This car makes a nice daily driver, or it can be restored to its former glory as you drive.
