Get ready for beach cruising! Here it is~ this is an original Scout Sportop 800. These were only made for 3 years. She celebrates her 50th birthday in less than 2 years ! It spent most of its life in the pacific northwest and has extremely low miles for its age. So it runs and drives great! Whoever is the winner will truly love driving and getting comments anywhere you go from people giving the big thumbs up! I have set the reserve very low considering the model, and condition~ So good luck bidding! Recently Completed: Rebuilt the carb/New Solenoid/New Brakes/New Points/New Wheel Cylinders/New Fuel Pump/Hoses/Lights…and overall engine runs excellent! No oil drips, no leaks, no smoke. Running driving, shifting, is as good as can be ;-) The driver and passenger floors freshened with new metal and the rest of the truck only had minimal surface rust spots which were ground out and touched up. The bed was smoothed and epoxy then given a texture coating. New Halogen~Bulb Glass Headlamps and all lights function perfect (I still have original headlamps if you prefer the look, I just wanted a good beam while going down the road). Radio needs to be reconnected as I was going to install a CD player but never got around to it but this is the original radio. I also have a brand new starter switch with two keys as over the years the original will catch every once in a while, but its not bad enough that I had to switch it out yet but new switch is included in auction and pictured. Also both of the Stant locking gas caps are brand new with two keys each, and am also including a brand new 3rd locking gas cap with two keys. I have 2 brand new slip on seat covers as pictured and included if you don’t want to sit on vinyl, but again I like the look of the seats the way they are so never got around to putting these on ;-) The original horn button went missing so I ordered a replacement which has the original IH emblem, and will include this in this auction. This scout is super straight! I have the original matching silver dash top~cover which is in excellent shape, and will include a pic of that too but I prefer the look without it on. I also have other trim pieces I chose to leave off. I have the Rear wheel Mount Hardware and including a pic , I just chose to leave off the rear mounted tire as I prefer the look. Top is in beautiful condition as is all glass. New rubber weatherstrip. *note, front windshield has a small starburst (smaller than a quarter, have not had a chance to have it filled yet but that would reduce it greatly)…speedo needs a new cable, and fuel guage works when more than ¼ tank full. Otherwise gauges work great. The body is super straight, and the paint looks bright and nice, but its not a frame off show~car restore...however it would not take much to make it a show vehicle...its the perfect candidate~ and I have set a low reserve to reflect this. She sits in my garage in Las Vegas and just does not get driven here by me in these hot summers ;-) I expect deposit of $500 via Paypal within 24 hours of auction close, and remaining balance via Fedex Cashiers or bank wire within 2 biz days of auction close. I will work with buyer and keep vehicle in locked climate controlled garage at my home until shipping can be arranged at no charge. For Sale is a fully restored 1969 International Harvester Scout 800A. You will be hard pressed to fine another one as nice as this. With only 7,700 original miles I bought this Scout from a gentleman in Raleigh who told me the Scout started life as a work truck for NC State, where it sat for many years and he bough it at auction. This truck comes equipped with a 196cu in 3.2L Slant 4 Cylinder, with 3 speed unsynchronized Manual, and Dana 20 Transfer Case. Restoration stated in late 2014 and was completed in early 2015, including but not limited to New Front and Rear Cargo floor, Rockers, Roll Bar, Starter ect. Interior has been re upholstered with new cushions and leather (Seats, Dash, Visor) as well as been sprayed with red bed liner. Bulkhead included comes out for easy use of backseat, or take out the back seat and leave the bulkhead in for a pick up truck. 1966 International Scout 800: The Scout 800 improved on many of the Scout 80’s features, by including a reworked interior, an improved dashboard and heater, and featured three new engines: a 196 4-cyl, or 232 I6 and in March of 1967 a 266ci V8 was also introduced. Styling changes outside included a new grill with the International wordmark and the IH logo being relocated to the hood, as well as new door handles and an easier to use tailgate system. 1966 introduced a new removable fiberglass or soft top option with an upgraded interior, called Sportop, as well as the introduction of the Champagne Series high-end option for the 800 model series. If you own a beach house or a lake house or even some land in the country, you know it is always great to have a simple and inexpensive "grocery getter" vehicle handy.
