2008 Mustang Shelby GT. 4.6L, 5 Speed, 3:55 rear. The car has A/C, P/S, P/W, P/L, Cruise, Tilt, Heated seats, HID headlights, "Shaker 500" sound system w/6 disc changer and of course all of the Shelby Modifications. I am the second owner. When I purchased the car, the stripes were turning brown (like a lot of these do). I removed the stripes and had them painted on and the panels were re-cleared. The work was performed by a Ford dealer and looks amazing. The car has new tires. The car is stock with the exception of a Steeda intake elbow and a tune. I have the original elbow that goes with the car. The car looks and drives great. I have a clean blue Texas title in hand. Feel free to contact me with any questions. 2007 and 2008 were the only years Shelby offered the automatic (6-speed) trans as an option, and they didn't make many of them. This registered, true Shelby (NOT a clone - Shelby #08SGT1394)) is clean, runs great, and everything works. It has only 29800 miles on it - which means it's been driven regularly on nice days - but less than 4000 miles a year. That's much better for a car than constantly sitting - fluids don't settle, tires don't dry-rot, etc.***************** This Shelby hasn't been modified in any way, and still has plenty of life left on its factory-original tires and brakes. It's pretty close to traveling back in time and buying one of these brand-new.**************** I've truly enjoyed driving this car. I haven't abused or raced it, but flooring the gas pedal pulling out into traffic results in a healthy engine roar, and it often chirps the tires shifting into second gear. You gotta love that. I wanted an automatic so it would be comfortable to drive, even in traffic, and I'm glad I searched (for 2 months!) to find one, because it has encouraged me to drive the car more often than I would have, plus I haven't had to worry about the clutch exploding (read about that in the forums, if you wish).******************* A few things I should point out: 1. The Carfax shows this car having a minor accident in 2009. I didn't own it at that time, but it was apparently repaired perfectly, because there is no evidence of any damage, ever. The exterior is basically flawless, as is the interior.********* 2. This car was ordered with cloth (pony) interior and non-stainless dash - both features I prefer. You may not, but the seats don't get hot and sticky, and the sun glare doesn't blind me off the dash.********* 3. If you want a car that's uncomfortable, unbalanced, too loud and unreliable, spend the extra money and buy a GT500. It has really big snakes on it, so if you're compensating for something, I'm sure you'll be happy when you drive it 200 miles a year in perfect weather. BUT, if you're looking to re-capture the true spirit of Carroll Shelby's vision, and own a snake that is quick, handles, has a nice throaty stock exhaust that's not overpowering, and still has the Shelby mystique going for it, buy a Shelby GT. And if you REALLY want to actually drive it on a regular basis, hunt down an automatic. You leg won't cramp up in traffic, and you're less likely to spill your coffee. :)***************** From Autoblog.com in 2007: For 2008, the highly-coveted Shelby GT is available in a new paint combination of Vista Blue with Silver stripes. Shelby GT models begin life as a specially-equipped Mustang GT assembled at the AutoAlliance International plant in Flat Rock, Mich. The cars are then shipped to the Shelby Automobiles facility in Las Vegas for transformation before delivery to Ford dealerships nationwide. "The birth of the Ford Shelby GT was so well received last year, especially by young enthusiasts, that we brought the car back for the 2008 model year," said Amy Boylan, President of Shelby Automobiles. "The enormous response to Hertz's Shelby GT-H convertible convinced us to offer customers a drop top Shelby GT. And we had so many requests for blue that we decided to make it our signature color in 2008." Every Shelby GT is built to perform and is the result of extensive development. Aerodynamics were key to sculpting t he powerful, unique front fascia with an aggressive lower air dam. The hood scoop comes directly from the famed Shelby Cobra roadster while unique side scoops are positioned just before the rear wheel arches. The rear fascia frames dual exhaust tips, and a Shelby badge graces the trunk lid. "The partnership between Ford Racing and Shelby demonstrates our ability to work together to deliver some of the most exciting Mustang's ever built," said Jamie Allison, Ford Racing Performance Group Manager. "Ford Racing has a full line of performance parts for Mustang enthusiasts. The Shelby GT convertible is another example of how working together, Shelby and Ford Racing are developing, producing and delivering niche performance Mustangs directly to the customer." Under the hood, the engine is improved with a Ford Racing Power Upgrade Package to increase output of the 4.6-liter V-8 to 319 horsepower and 330 lb.-ft. of torque. A high-flow exhaust system with X-pipe crossover offers better power delivery and a throaty V-8 exhaust note. Shelby GT comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission featuring a Hurst short-throw shifter for precise shift action. A five-speed automatic transmission is optional. The balanced package includes a Ford Racing Handling Pack with special-tuned dampers, unique sway bars and a 3.55:1 ratio rear axle assembly for improved off-the-line acceleration. The overall ride height was dropped to reduce body roll while a front strut-tower brace adds additional strength to the chassis structure. The 2008 models will sport 18-inch polished wheels with high-performance P235/50ZR18 BF Goodrich gForce tires to maximize the upgrades. Like all Mustang convertibles, each drop top will have a stylish light bar and supplemental bracing to give the car additional stiffness. "The Shelby GT is for drivers," says Boylan. This is a phenomenal car that is just sitting in my garage taking up space! Interests have gone elsewhere and I am looking to (reluctantly) part ways with my Mustang. More pictures and details will be coming as the weather allows me to pull it out of the garage over the next couple of days. Paint is beautiful but I will go over it with a flashlight to ensure that I am reporting every chip or scratch, however there will be few to report! Up for sale is Shelby GT, CSM: 07SGT1020. The 07/08 Shelby GT's were limited production, PRE-TITLE Shelby's, built at Shelby American's headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada. I've driven just about every single mile of the 33,000 miles on this car. When I bought it in 2009, it had 1,000 miles on it, which was from the owner of the dealership driving back and forth to work for about a month. The car started its life as an ordinary street car, but after a few years, I started modifying it bit by bit, and eventually, it got to the point where I had a well equipped street/track car. The car puts down 372rwhp, and 333rwtq, all naturally aspirated. I've always kept the car in mint condition, constantly cleaning, detailing etc. despite the fact that I've been tracking the car for the last year and a half. The only way you can tell I track the car is because of the Cobra racing seats, harnesses and the 4 point Watson Racing Roll Bar in the back of the car. Other than that, I keep the car very clean. I change the oil after every track day, and all routine maintenance has been done throughout the time I've owned the car. The car has a clean car fax report. See below a list of modifications. This car also has Carroll's signature, and in the signature, the CSM # is included, so his signature is SPECIFIC to THIS car. I also have Chuck Cantwell's signature in the car as well. Aside from aesthetic and engine differences from the 2007 Shelby GT500, the Shelby GT was customized and stamped as an authentic Shelby automobile at Shelby HQ’s in Las Vegas, NV. The Shelby GT is a head turner and gets respect wherever you take it. The white Shelby with silver stripes is by far the best-looking color combination out there. Shelby GT’s were only produced in 2007 and 2008. 2007 was the only year you could get this color combination. There were only 2,266 white Shelby GT’s produced. Of that number only 495 had automatic transmission, and of that number only 85 had the gray leather interior. This is truly a collector and a rare piece of legendary Shelby innovation to own. This car has been babied and pampered and always garaged. I have done some small interior and exterior appearance upgrades but nothing to take away from its original Shelby GT form to devalue it. All OEM parts are still in my possession. I have the original rims and tires, which have only 10,000 miles on them, original radio, stock race pedals, and antenna. This is a non-smokers vehicle, does have some light chip damage on the hood from road debris but is too small to really notice and does not affect the appearance. Clean history report. This vehicle has never seen any damage. New tires on the front 255/35ZR20, rear tires have about 20,000 miles on them with good tread left 275/35ZR20. Shelby installed upgrades include: 90MM Ford Racing Cold Air Kit, Performance X-Pipe exhaust, Pro-Cal Performance Calibration, front and rear dampers, sport lowered suspension, front and rear sway bars, strut tower brace, hood and side scoops, racing hood pins, and billet grille.
