This car stops on a dime! The exterior is a fantastic and super eye catching. We’ve nicknamed the car “Storm Trooper” and we think the name fits. We’ve looked this car over from top to bottom and have not seen any rust issues. Very solid, very nice. The body panels appear to be original Ford sheet metal, no reproduction parts aside from the Shelby R Model front apron and the Shelby style side scoops. This is not a show car, however from very close, it’s as nice as any Restomod Mustang Coupe out there. It was built to drive and enjoy and was never built to be a show car. The car was just recently finished and probably has less than a thousand miles on it since completion. Take a look at the photos and make your own judgments on it. If you need additional photos, please feel free to ask. The interior is in nice shape. The seats are comfortable, it has a full set of seat belts. The stereo system sounds great. Interior gauge lights work, Fuel Gauge works, Speedometer and Oil Pressure Gauge works. It’s a very cool car overall. Not perfect but nice and definitely eye catching. 1966 Ford Mustang Restomod Eye Catching 1966 Ford Mustang Restomod This is a great looking Classic Mustang that is a solid and fun weekend toy. It runs great and sounds awesome. If you have any questions or requests, please don’t be shy. I’m happy to help in any way with additional photos or even videos if you’d like. Here is a highlight list: · About a 10yr old restoration · 351W 4-barrel V8 (about 30k since rebuild) · C4 Automatic Transmission (about 30k since rebuild) · Power Steering · Custom Exhaust – Hooker headers, Flowmaster mufflers. · 17” American Racing Torque Thrust II wheels · Recent Interior work, most notably New Upholstery on the two front buckets, including new foam. · New Door Panels, New Arm Rests and Bases · New Exterior Emblems · Shelby Style Fiberglass Hood · New Trunk Lid Weather stripping Great looking 1966 Mustang Coupe that definitely has Restomod flair to it. The car was mildly restored around 10 years ago by the previous owner to be a nice weekend cruiser with get up and go. The 351 Windsor V8 is very healthy. It has a great rumble to it, nice cam and exhaust system. Rare Ford 4 barrel aluminum intake manifold. Holley carburetor, polished aluminum radiator and a pusher electric fan have been added. A B&M shifter has been added, however it’s just a lock out transmission shifter, not a reverse valve body. It can be put in Drive and left to just drive around like the stock shifter. It was in the car when we bought it. The exterior is a fantastic and super eye catching color. I have been calling it Electric Blue Metallic. It is a Bright Blue in the sun, in the shade it has a hint of Purple to it, but not an obnoxious Bright Purple. More of just a hint to it. Having said that, there are some flaws close up such as some bubbling above the drivers side drip rail. This is not a show car, however from 10 feet away its as nice as any Mustang out there. It was built some time ago and was never built to be a show car. Take a look at the photos and make your own judgments on it. If you need additional photos, please feel free to ask. The interior is in nice shape. The seats are comfortable, it has a full set of seat belts. The stereo turns on, but doesn’t put out sound. I haven’t looked into it. I like the sound of the car more. Interior gauge lights work, Fuel Gauge works, additional added on gauges are Engine oil Pressure and Engine Temp. They work well. It’s a pretty nice car overall. Not perfect but nice and definitely eye catching. Please view the photos of this beautiful Mustang and If you have any questions feel free to call or message. VIDEOS AVAILABLE -PLEASE ASK!!! Many believe that vintage motor vehicles from the 1950’s through 1970’s are enjoyable classics from a fun, bygone era. Many also believe that more modern domestic and foreign vehicles are instant classics too. Whichever vehicle you choose to purchase from CAR as a new or returning customer, we hope your experience exceeds your expectations. Please feel free to inspect the vehicle, classic or otherwise, that you have decided to purchase. It is important to CAR that you inspect the classic vehicle that you have decided to purchase. We encourage you to even hire your own inspector to make an inspection of the vehicle that you are purchasing. If you choose to have an inspector visit our showroom to inspect a vehicle that you are interested in acquiring, we will make every effort to make that vehicle available for inspection at our showroom. These motor vehicles may come from a vintage time period. Chances are, some classics do not drive as smoothly or with the same level of comforts, conveniences or reliability as a new car. However, that can be part of the charm of owning one of these cars. The vehicle that you have chosen to purchase is sold “As-Is” and in its present state of preservation unless CAR agrees in writing to perform specific repairs or improvements. No implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is given. 1965 Ford Mustang Restomod. 5.0L EFI 5-speed manual transmission, POWER STEERING, POWER DISC BRAKES & AIR CONDITIONING for those hot summer days! The VIN on this car is 5F077T771550. The donor car was a 1995 Mustang GT 5.0 VIN 1FALP42T85F106662. It has the battery relocation kit (battery in the trunk). The emergency brake was relocated from the dash to the center hump to have a direct pull. Works well and does not interfere with the shifter. Has tilt steering with a Grant steering wheel. AC and heat work well. (Keep in mind the limitations of these vintage systems.) I bought it with the conversion already installed. I had to have the engine rebuilt soon after getting it. The engine has a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty on it from Carter's Engine in Amarillo. I will give you all of the paperwork from the original conversion and the rebuild. Any warranty claims will be between the new buyer and the shop. The work was done in November of 2013 and currently has 715 on it. I will continue to drive it around town, so consider the mileage approximate. There is no warranty between you and I whatsoever and you are buying this vehicle as-is, where is. As with most classic cars, this car has WAY more in it than the reserve price. The vehicle is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction if the vehicle sells outside of eBay. Recent work includes:Remanufactured long blockNew plugsNew thermostatNew water pumpNew oil pumpNew cam & liftersNew rocker studsnew push rodsNew harmonic balancerNew clutchFlushed radiatorNew radiator hoseNew heater hoseNew serpentine beltNew starterNew batteryNew passenger side window regulator (driver side window could use a new one) The car is a lot of fun to drive and turns a lot of heads. The 5.0L is a lot of engine for that little car and the 5-speed makes it a blast to drive. The transmission shifts smoothly. The clutch pedal has a really tight spring. It has the Mustang Cobra wheels on it off on the donor 1995. It has TPI Tech digital gauges on the instrument cluster. To my knowledge, everything on the car is either for a 1965 Mustang or a 1995 Mustang, so finding parts is easy (no guess work like with some restomods!). The interior is also customized and is in decent shape. The front seats are from the 1995 donor car and the back seat is the original style. The exterior could use a new paint job, but it's not too bad and looks okay. Aside from the couple of minor dimples on the passenger side fender (from the battery bouncing around inside once), the body is in great shape. I've never found any rust on the vehicle. The owner before me did some stuff that I'm not in love with (like the headliner lamp, intermittent wipers, and emergency brake relocation), but to each his own. Maybe you'll love it. The car is dang near 50 years old. The fuel injected engine makes it pretty reliable (especially since it's just rebuilt and has a warranty), but it's not a brand new car. It's pretty mechanically sound, but it could use a little work here and there. If I was going to keep it, I'd put some firmer suspension in it and tighten up the steering. Having had an all-original '65 before, I can tell you that the power steering and power brakes make it really nice (and much safer) to drive. If you've dreamt of a restomod, this is the car for you. You could put all of your finishing touches on it. I'm selling this car because I'm getting back the 6-cylinder 1965 Mustang that I bought when I turned 16. I don't need 2 classic Mustangs and I'd prefer to keep the one that has more sentimental value. If you want any additional pictures of anything specific, please send me a message and I'll get you a picture of what you need. Bidders are responsible to perform their own vehicle inspection prior to the auction close/purchase. If you'd like to send your mechanic to inspect, I'll work with you on that. The $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of the close of the auction. I am adding a delivery option, which will cost the buyer $3/mile one-way, up to 1500 miles within the US Lower 48 States. This will require full payment plus shipping prior to delivery. This car has over $25,000 in it.
