As a result, cars like this clean two-tone blue Corvette are somewhat rarer, with a fraction as many being produced. And to many, the 1982 Corvette represents the pinnacle of C3 engineering and development, making them the ones to own if you're a serious collector. The two-tone blue finish on this car is how it came from the factory (code 24/26 Silver Blue over Dark Blue) and looks awesome on the '82 model's dramatic curves. Any C3 'Vette is a sight to see, but by the time this car was built, the design had been refined to the point where it was instantly recognizable anywhere in the world. With no signs of previous accidents and a brilliant shine, there will be no chance of keeping a low profile in this fantastic plastic Corvette. Panel fit is about what you got with your new Corvette in 1982, good, but not perfect, but it's obvious that this car has always been properly cared for. The only demerit is a crack on the hood that came from the bracing underneath, but otherwise this is one clean 'Vette. All the original emblems were reinstalled, including the "cross-fire injection" badges on the front fenders which were unique to the 1982 model year. A matching blue leather interior offers deep, plush power buckets that are every bit as comfortable as they look, and do an above-average job of keeping you in place during spirited maneuvers. They show light wear that's entirely in line with the car's age and mileage, and absolutely no rips or tears in the material. All the gauges work, and I'm especially fond of the steering wheel wrapped in black leather, which is low-key and stylish. A 4-speed automatic transmission was a new fuel-saving measure in 1982, and the only transmission available in the Corvette that year, so that's what sits in the center console. This one also features things like A/C, cruise control, power windows, power locks, and a tilt wheel, adding to the Corvette's luxury/performance mission, as well as a newer AM/FM/CD stereo head unit. Even the blue carpets are in very good shape with only light fading, which isn't surprising since this car has spent a lot of its life in warm, dry Arizona. The Cross-Fire Injection was an early version of throttle-body fuel injection, and makes a nice, round 200 horsepower in the 1982 Corvette. The engine bay in this one is nicely preserved, befitting its mileage, with the large dual air filter unit dominating the top of the engine itself. It's quite clean under the hood, suggesting that someone has always loved this car, and everything is as the factory intended with none of the usual modifications you find on small block Chevys. Underneath, it's very clean with a correct 2-1-2 exhaust system that looks quite recent and more evidence of life lived in the desert. A composite leaf spring is another C3 innovation that would foreshadow the equipment in the upcoming C4, and that, too, is still in place. 1982 Corvettes came with some of the most beautiful ally wheels of the period, with these surrounded with fat 225/70/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials. Forget the so-called "Collector's Editions," this icy blue Corvette is the one to own if you're serious about the last of the C3s. This is a really great car for an every day driver or just keep her for the weekends. I have a perfect clean carfax showing no accidents and this is a 2 owner car. I had the seats re-upholstered by one of the top interior experts in the area and even installed new padding from the factory to make sure they are as near to a new car as possible. This car is beautiful but does have some cosmetic imperfections. One of the nicest colors for a C5 available. Paint has some normal chips stress hairline cracks and acid rain on the hood. I bought factory touch up and it matches perfectly. Incredible wheels featured on the cover of a Corvette magazine. Really sets the car off. Tires only have 500 miles on them. I had the rotors turned and replaced all 4 brakes with ceramic to reduce brake dust. Rotors are drilled and slotted for better cooling. Other than the wheels and tires this car is 100% stock. Has a new transmission built to factory specs. Runs and drives perfectly. I would feel comfortable driving the car anywhere. This is a smoke free car. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about the car. Good solid car. Not showroom condition but a great price which allows money to fix cosmetics and turn this car into a perfect 10. It offered a few more horsepower and it loved to rev, and if you were smart like the guy who originally ordered this Torch Red 1996 Corvette coupe, you could get it in a standard 'Vette as well as the Grand Sport and Collectors' Editions. A standard Corvette with the LT4 is arguably a rarer find than a Grand Sport and far fewer have survived with low mileage like this one. Showing just 26,687 original miles, this Torch Red 'Vette justifiably demands a premium over its garden-variety siblings. With the ZR-1 gone, this was the top performing C4 in its final year of production and it might even be considered a sleeper, if a bright red Corvette could ever be such a thing. The paint is original and aside from the black hash marks on the fenders, it looks like any other Corvette. Of course, that's a good thing when the finish looks this bright, which comes thanks to two decades of being a cherished toy rather than a transportation appliance. You can't argue that the C4 wasn't a great-looking car and even today they command respect on the street. This one also offers a clean chin spoiler, nice rocker panels that haven't been beaten up with road grit, and only the subtle 'LT4' emblem on the tail gives it away. The black leather interior is one of the C4's best features, with grippy bucket seats that are all-day comfortable and all the creature comforts. Again, this one is almost entirely stock save for a set of LT4-logo step plates right on the sills, which are notorious for getting beat up as folks climb in and out of the car. The seats show only minor comfort marks but definitely no damage or significant wear, the carpets are still protected by factory mats, and the door panels haven't been cooked by the sun. All the gauges are fully functional and the digital segments of the dash are bright and crisp, something that always seems to be an issue on lesser cars. And, of course, ordering the LT4 engine meant you had to shift for yourself, as the 6-speed manual transmission was the only choice. The long list of options includes power windows, locks, mirrors, and seats, automatic climate control, cruise, and a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo system that sounds great even with the top off. The LT4 engine boasted a number of improvements and its willingness to rev makes it a blast to drive. It's easy to spot with its red intake manifold, and like its brother the LT1, modifications are plentiful. Fortunately, this one remains completely stock, which is how you want your investment cars to be, and that also means it starts easily, idles smoothly, and runs like it should. With so few miles, it's just getting broken in and you know it hasn't been abused or raced, but instead properly maintained by owners who respected its history. The suspension is competent without being too harsh and the undercarriage is amazingly well-preserved and very clean, so no worries about future issues here. With stock 17-inch wheels and 255/45/17 front and 285/40/17 rear Firestone radials, it also has the perfect stance.
