The last of the C3s always seem to be silver or white or black, but this handsome dark red 1980 'Vette hits all the right buttons. Powered by a fresh ZZ4 crate motor and fitted with a handsome leather interior, this is definitely a party on wheels at a very attractive price. No worries, however, because code 76 "Dark Claret" was on the 1980 Corvette color chart and it looks awfully similar to the burgundy finish it wears today. It's not this particular 'Vette's original color, but it's a great look, deep and rich without trending towards orange, and the guys who did the respray made sure everything was smooth and straight before they started shooting. That means good gaps, no stress cracks around the headlight doors, and front and rear bumper cones that actually match the rest of the car. There are a few signs of use and some light scratches, but a lot of it would disappear with a professional buff and detail. The deep chin spoiler and ducktail spoiler out back give the Corvette a hyper-performance look that suits its personality just fine, and even after more than 30 years, it still grabs peoples' attention on the street. There's not a lot of trim on the 1980 models, but things like the shiny rocker panel trim and 'corvette' lettering on the trunk make it really stand out. Go ahead, admit it: this is the car you've wanted since you were a kid. The disco era was in full swing when this Corvette hit the streets, and the code 792 Claret leather makes the most of the fashion of the time. Fortunately, the articulated bucket seats are in reasonable condition given their age, with leather that's still pliable and now showing a comfortable, lived-in look that only leather can offer. Loaded with options like power windows and locks, A/C, a tilt/telescope wheel, cruise control, power antenna, and a rear defroster, the Corvette had finally matured into a real car that could be driven every day. Lift off the T-tops and it's an open air experience that combines the rumble of the exhaust with the whoosh of V8 acceleration, and you'll be pleased to know that they seal up tight. The fastback roofline added much-needed storage volume, and the cargo bay is nicely preserved despite that big rear window and the added sunlight (which is why there's a retractable cargo cover). The only notable upgrade is an AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo head unit that's a neat fit in the original dash. The L82 was the top motor in 1980, but that wheezer was replaced 1500 miles ago with a snarling ZZ4 350 cubic inch crate motor. Up top there's a Bowtie intake manifold and an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and with 330 horsepower on tap, it's roughly twice as powerful as it was when it was new. There's plenty of other new equipment designed to keep it in top condition, including a new alternator, belts, and hoses, making this a Corvette you can drive anywhere with confidence. It's backed by a freshly rebuilt TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and carries a set of long-tube headers and a new dual exhaust system underneath, so the soundtrack is right. Gorgeous machined aluminum wheels were original equipment and now carry fat 275/60/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials. C3 Corvettes are popular for a reason, and you can get into this one for the price of a used Hyundai. Spend some time nailing down the details and you'll have a car that runs and looks like it should cost thousands more. With just one owner, someone obviously took exceptionally good care of it and with just one repaint several years ago, it still looks like it should cost thousands more than it does. OK, we know that the market for 1985 Corvettes is a little soft, but look at this one carefully. It's extremely affordable, and if you're looking for massive bang for the buck, this low-mileage Corvette is awfully appealing. The color is Black Rose from the 1992 Corvette color chart, and this C4 wears it especially well, accentuating the wedge-shaped profile that was still 100% Corvette but a big change from the aging C3. Given its history, the paint is in outstanding condition as you'd expect, but perhaps you've forgotten just how good a C4 can look. The finish is glossy, the composite panels are super straight (it's not like they dent or rust), and the doors open and close with the characteristic C4 thunk that sounds impressively solid. Even the weather-stripping is in excellent condition so this 'Vette seals up well and whispers through the air at highway speeds. The only notable modification is a set of blue-dot lenses in the stock taillights, and it seems to work rather well with the dark purple paint. The gray leather interior is just as nice as the exterior, with optional power articulated bucket seats that were state-of-the-art in 1985. C4 fans will find it easy to get comfortable here and as you'd expect, everything is in very good condition. The leather looks well-maintained save for some very minor stretching on the driver's lower cushion, and the carpets and door panels are quite nice. The digital dashboard was very exciting news for 1985 and remarkably, it's fully functional with bright graphics and complete displays. Just about everything was standard for the Corvette, including power windows and locks, A/C, cruise control, and the familiar Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo in the center stack. There's also a useful trip computer that still does its thing, and a surprising amount of storage capacity in the hatch area, and yes, the gas struts that hold up the hatch still work! The only engine available in the 1985 Corvette was the indestructible torque factory known as the L98. With so few miles on the clock, it's barely broken-in, and is instantly recognizable for its long-tube intake runners that are the key to its impressive torque production. It's also highly adaptable to modifications, but aside from the K&N air filter, this one remains 100% stock and as the factory delivered it with most of its original equipment still in place. Anything that needed maintenance got it, and it runs superbly today. It also carries the desirable Doug Nash 4+3 manual transmission, which feels like a good old 4-speed but offers overdrive cruising for long-distance comfort. Brakes are powerful, the Z51 suspension is track-ready, and you'll recall how blown away you were when you first saw those ultra-wide 255/50/16 Goodyears in 1985. Too cool! Oh, yeah, the stock wheels have been chrome plated to give it a custom look that works rather well on the early C4. A fast, fun 'Vette that will entertain the crowds with its awesome look, gets you a guaranteed invite to all the big Corvette events, and costs less than a used Honda. How can you go wrong? Chevy always pulls out the stops in the color department for their anniversary models, and they're always a subtle and sophisticated balance to the in-your-face graphics of the pace cars. In 2003, the 50th anniversary, they brewed up a lovely burgundy metallic color that looks like candy and dares you to touch its impossibly smooth surface. With under 15,000 miles on the odometer and obviously purchased as more of an investment than a daily driver, this Corvette is in immaculate, showroom-fresh condition throughout. Even the usual areas like the chin and rockers haven't been abused by the rigors of the daily grind. Only a few smallish 50th anniversary badges adorn the flanks, but all Corvette fans will recognize this car from a mile away simply due to the gorgeous color. And while cosmetic add-ons for C5 Corvettes are a major industry all by themselves, this one is refreshingly devoid of goofy dress-up stuff from the aftermarket. You want factory fresh, this is it. Anniversary models could be dressed any way you wanted it as long as it included a "Shale" leather interior. More anniversary emblems and embroidery make sure you know you've got a special Corvette, and all the options were available. This particular 'Vette includes power sport seats, dual-range climate control, a heads-up display, and the F45 adjustable suspension system that really offers the best of both worlds: comfort and performance. And as you'd expect, the interior is virtually unmarked with matching carpets that have never been dirty and leather seating surfaces that don't even look like they've been tried on for size. The bright instruments flash to life with the turn of the key, doing a little sweep of the dials just to show you that everything is working, and the floor mats include matching embroidered Corvette logos. The trunk area is well-shaped and useful, with another matching carpeted floor mat, and unlike earlier Corvettes, there's plenty of room to store your gear under the rear hatch. All Anniversary Corvettes were powered by the aluminum LS1 that has become the foundation of GM performance in the 21st century. With plenty of horsepower and torque on tap, it easily fulfilled the Corvette's performance image, but the smoothness, durability, and efficiency were big bonuses. Like all small block Chevy motors, they're insanely mod-friendly, but this one remains 100% stock, right down to the mufflers and air filter because, obviously, investments are best kept OEM. Lots of black plastic defines the C5 engine bay, but even details like the raw aluminum castings are still bright and shiny, proof that this Corvette has lived a sheltered life. The standard 4-speed automatic overdrive transaxle shifts faster than you can, and with a limited slip in the rear end, it hooks up hard. Disc brakes and forged aluminum wheels live at all four corners, and it sits on a set of correctly-sized 17- and 18-inch Michelin Pilot radials. Complete with all the relevant documentation, from the window sticker to the original manuals, this is a car that future generations will continue to appreciate. This 1965 roadster carries a great-running small block V8, a 4-speed gearbox, and single-family ownership for the past 40 years. As far as investments go, it's hard to beat an investment you can drive. This isn't one of those trailer-queen 'Vettes that you're afraid to drive, either. Refinished a few years ago, it was switched from its original code F Nassau Blue to bright code U Rally Red, once again proving the old adage that there's nothing quite like a bright red Corvette. The Sting Ray was one of the most influential designs of the decade, and even forty-five years later, it remains instantly recognizable and still resonates with hobbyists. This '65 hits the sweet spot, with a nice patina that shows well and looks great for the car's age, without the hassles that come from trying to maintain a show car's finish. At any Corvette show, you can spot the guys who drive their cars pretty easily: they're the ones with the giant grins on their faces, and you could join them without worries in this one. It's not perfect, but a perfect Corvette is kind of an oxymoron. No, Corvette are blue jeans and plain white T-shirts, and perfect just isn't part of the legend. The body tag says the interior is "standard," but the lovely and comfortable black buckets are anything but ordinary. They have a lovely patina and signs of gentle use that make it ever so inviting to slide behind that woodgrained wheel. Of course, there's no damage, no split seams, no scuffs on the seating surfaces, so if you want to show it, you'll have nothing to be ashamed of, that's for sure! The gauges are in good shape, although the original tach is supplanted by a column-mounted unit that was necessary due to the upgrade to an HEI distributor (the original tach is cable-driven). Overhead there's a white convertible top that's in good order, while the carpets show almost no wear thanks to matching Corvette-logo floor mats protecting them. There's an original AM radio in the center with its unusual vertical orientation, and there's just nothing cooler than that bright chrome shifter for the 4-speed underneath. This 'Vette carries a replacement 350 cubic inch V8, which is a neat fit thanks to the ubiquity of the small block Chevy. It's not the car's original engine, of course, but during the restoration, it was rebuilt and now shows just about 5500 miles. Finished in correct Chevy Orange with a stock-looking air cleaner and finned cast aluminum valve covers, it has a functional look. As I mentioned, there's a modern HEI ignition system and a dual reservoir master cylinder on the power brake system, which appear to be the lone visible upgrades. The 4-speed shifts with typical Muncie precision, and the four wheel disc brakes that became standard equipment give this car impressive stopping power. There's a recent chambered exhaust system with polished tips, and the chassis is extremely clean. Refreshingly, this one also carries stock Rally wheels with 205/70/15 whitewall radials. Coming out of long-term ownership where it's been with the same family for decades, this is a beloved car. If you've been dreaming of a C2 Corvette roadster, this one is a fine choice that will appreciate as you enjoy it. It's a great hobby car, what with its swoopy good looks, bright paint, and rumbling 350/4-speed combination underneath, not to mention a top that goes down. Who wouldn't love such a beast in their garage? So make this the year that you finally get into the game with this very affordable Corvette roadster. Maybe I'm just a sucker for red cars, but this Corvette looks fast just sitting still. Embodying all that's great about the C3 design: chrome bumpers, side pipes, a folding top, and a great color, it's also just right for cruising and having fun. Feel like taking the long way home from work? This is your ideal companion. It's happy to oblige, since it's not some over-restored trailer queen, but instead a nicely preserved, honest car that wears its minor marks with pride, because it has been driven. The fiberglass is in great shape with no noteworthy issues, so no worries in that department, and although the repaint was done several years ago (it was originally code 976 Lemans Blue), you'll never be ashamed to be seen behind the wheel. The fiberglass underneath is in good order with only a few very minor cracks around the headlights in the usual spots, but nothing that requires attention. The rumble of the exhaust matches its high-performance look, and no matter where you go, you'll probably find that this car engenders respect for its performance capabilities. A black interior is always the right choice with red bodywork, and the Corvette delivered a state-of-the-art driving experience in 1969. The interior was replaced a few years ago, because it, too, was originally blue, but all the replacement pieces are correct Corvette items. As a color change, there are a few original parts that were repainted to match the black upholstery, and they might be showing some age, but with a little TLC, this could really be a first-rate 'Vette inside. The important stuff is all there, including a chrome shifter managing the 4-speed between the seats and a newer AM/FM/CD stereo right in front of it. The gauges remain in original condition, with sharp markings and clear lenses, making the driver's seat a very enjoyable place to spend some time. And note that this car includes both a black convertible top as well as the optional removable hardtop, a highly desirable and somewhat rare option. Tilt the hood forward and you'll find a rebuilt 350 that isn't pretending to be something it is. Instead, it's a nice-looking piece that was built to run, with finned Z/28 style valve covers, a chrome air cleaner, and a bit of chrome on the accessories. It runs like the best small blocks do, with a snarky exhaust note compliments of the headers and side pipes, and if you were really picky, spend a Saturday detailing it to really take it up a notch. Power steering makes this a very user-friendly Corvette, even around town and it still retains its original ignition shielding, something that got tossed on a lot of these cars. The chassis shows no signs of trouble and plenty of evidence that this car was never used in inclement weather up north. New hardware on the brakes and suspension suggest that it has been serviced in the not-too-distant past and it wears classic Rally wheels with fat 255/60/15 Firestone radials at all four corners. For a nice summer toy, you can scarcely do better than a vintage Corvette. Reliable, fun, and affordable, this one is ready to follow you home. Now that the new Stingray has debuted, the C6 has become one of the biggest bargains in the automotive universe, and with just 7404 original miles, this 2010 Corvette convertible represents a ton of performance at a very appealing price. If you're going to own a Corvette, why bother with low profile? Crystal Red is definitely the way to go, and with the C6's dramatic curves and slicing character lines, it looks like a show car come to life. Showing so few miles, this one has obviously been babied all its life and kept in a warm, dry garage every night. I mean, there's hardly a mark on it, not from a wayward pebble, not from spinning the rear tires, nothing! Someone probably waxed this car every other Saturday, and if it's seen the rain, it was only in an emergency. The clean lines of the C6 are still attractive, and from any angle there's just no mistaking this Corvette for anything else. And by 2010, GM's most technologically-advanced factory was turning out some pretty phenomenal paint jobs; we've seen one-off customs that didn't have paint this nice! Check out the way the finish glows when the light hits it just right, the depth of the shine, and the gold under tones that make this paint truly special. Some critics complain about the Corvette's interior, but they're mistaken. Where else can you get this much performance and luxury for so little cash? That's real leather on the deeply sculpted buckets, every comfort and convenience feature was included, and those two-tone upholstery looks inviting, don't they? You'll never get tired of watching the gauges do their dance when you key it up, and the engineer in charge of the driving position and steering wheel-shifter-pedal arrangement simply nailed it. It's really easy to get comfortable in a Corvette, whether it's for a cross-country trip or a hot lap at a track day. A/C, power seats, windows, and locks, navigation, and a kickin' stereo system are all part of the package. Better yet, there's plenty of storage space in back, even with the top stowed, so this really is a no-compromises sports car. And speaking of the top, it's also tan and fits superbly without a wrinkle or crease. The all-new LS3 engine hit the market in 2008 and makes a robust 430 horsepower and 424 pounds of torque (remember when the ZR-1 was king of the hill with 405 horsepower just a few years earlier?). It's all-aluminum construction and careful attention to detail make it both reliable and efficient, and cruising in 6th gear, you'll probably be able to pull down mileage that would make a 6-cylinder car proud. The 6-speed automatic transmission is stashed in the back, so weight distribution is improved and it snaps through the gears every bit as fast (faster, actually) than the 6-speed manual. Massive disc brakes are, of course, standard and look great behind the chrome-plated 18- and 19-inch wheels which wear original 245/40/18 front and 285/35/19 rear Goodyear run-flat radials. Complete with a transferable warranty that's good for another 50,000 (!) miles, this is a no-worries performance car that more than delivers on its promises. The '54s are kind of stuck between the ultra-valuable first-year 1953s and the V8-powered '55s, and as a result, this car enjoyed some well-chosen upgrades that make it potent as well as stylish. If you want a Corvette that does it all, well, there aren't many choices better than this frame-off restored example. Yep, it's bright, and with the limited color pallet in 1954, yellow tends to stand out in a big way. It was repainted a few years ago and the fiberglass underneath is in good order, so you can roll up and show it off without a second thought. It shines up beautifully and there's no denying that these first Corvettes are great-looking cars. They kept all the factory curves and details, including the wonderful mini fins out back that flank the taillights, making this the perfect expression of 1950s performance. For an early Corvette, panel fit is great, especially the trunk which is difficult to fit on these cars. We love the toothy grille and the European race-inspired grilles over the headlights, and all the bright trim was restored before it was bolted back on. And this C1 has rebuilt, OEM side windows, which are incredibly rare and expensive (over $6k!), and are a wonderful period addition. Even the Plexiglas license plate lens in back is crystal clear. It's pretty darn easy to love this car. The interior doesn't stray too far from the stock look, but the more you look, the more you'll see the subtle upgrades that make it a joy to drive. The seats are stock-style buckets and the three-spoke steering wheel was designed to look like the original, but it's a little smaller, a little fatter, and wrapped in tan leather. A full set of Auto Meter gauges were precisely integrated into the original gauge slots in the dash, while the factory speedo is still ahead of the driver. An AM/FM/cassette stereo was neatly tucked up high so you don't really notice it and feeds speakers cleverly stashed throughout the interior, and a CD changer is stowed away nicely in the truck. Black carpets keep it from being too bright inside and help keep things quiet and cool and there's a Lokar shifter in the center that looks suitably vintage. Overhead there's a black canvas convertible top that fits well and the trunk is fully finished and ready for your next road trip. Instead of a Blue Flame Six under the hood, this 'Vette offers a proper V8; 400 cubic inches to be exact. The small block is a neat fit in the '54's engine bay and has all the modern upgrades that make it a blast to drive. Chrome dress-up, a mild Performance Cam, Holley 4-barrel carb, aluminum heads, and things like 12-volt electrical system with alternator and a big aluminum radiator, aluminum warer pump and electric fan up front help ensure cool reliability. It starts easily and in the relatively light weight Corvette, performance is impressive. A TH350 automatic transmission snaps through the gears and with 3.50 gears on a limited slip out back, it's snappy off the line. The suspension is fairly stock but does a good job of planting that horsepower and keeping the car on track, and the exhaust note is pure American muscle with Flowmasters and Hooker long-tube headers. Chrome wheels are the right choice on a car like this and they're wearing 215/65/15 BFG radials all around. This well-built '54 Corvette is all about having fun in a wicked cool old car. With a pro-built pedigree and a great look, you can buy with confidence and use it as the original engineers intended. It would likely take six figures to replicate this build, so why not enjoy the fruits of someone else hard labor, turn the key and go? With a strong-running and built-up 327, a 4-speed gearbox, and a fantastic color combination, it's an ideal way to own a vintage Corvette without spending a fortune. British Green is more subdued than you'd expect on a Corvette, but who can argue when the car looks this good? Thanks to a comprehensive respray a few years ago in California, it looks awesome cruising down the road and the dark green paint has just the right amount of metallic in it to really glow when the sun hits it just right. And on any vintage 'Vette, the important thing is that the fiberglass underneath is quite well preserved and shows none of the usual cracking or split seams that you find on neglected cars. The restoration was completed a few years ago, but it still has a great look that will have people turning to watch as you motor past. The chrome bumpers look great and there's a luggage rack to add some interest. It's the kind of car that you won't mind packing up for a week on the road, perhaps heading to one of the great Corvette events that are held all over the country and where driving your car is 90% of the fun. And when you arrive, an early C3 convertible will find a very enthusiastic crowd waiting to have a closer look. Chevrolet called this interior "Saddle" and it's been freshened over the years and looks fantastic today. One look at the interior will convince you that this has always been a beloved car. The seat covers were custom made and the door panels and carpet are new, so it has a clean look that's rather inviting. A newer and fatter leather-wrapped steering wheel continues to link the Corvette to its European inspirations and gives it an upscale look inside, and the gauges look great. Items such as the 1968 Corvettes debuted the fiber-optic lamp monitoring system in the center console and there's a newer AM/FM/cassette stereo system that sounds awesome in the vintage ragtop and there are speakers tucked behind the seats with the chrome roll hoop. And, of course, it's hard to resist a Corvette with a shift-it-yourself gearbox, especially when it's topped by a Hurst cue ball. A snug-fitting tan convertible top stows easily in just a few seconds, so there's really no excuse not to enjoy your new 'Vette alfresco. The 327 cubic inch V8 was recently rebuilt by a certified Corvette mechanic with a lot of new components, so it runs like a small block Chevy should. And while the 327 lived in the shadow of the mighty 427, it's important to note that this car will idle all day in traffic and not foul its plugs, it's considerably easier on gas, and quite honestly, with upgrades like aluminum heads, an Edelbrock intake, and 4-barrel carburetor, this is still a very potent machine. There's plenty of chrome and stainless under the hood and a big radiator keeps it nice and cool. The 4-speed Muncie snaps off rapid-fire shifts like a bolt-action rifle, and the suspension rides better than you'd expect from a car with this one's capabilities. Classic Rally wheels are a period-correct look on a Corvette and these wear 235/60/15 Firestone radials. Nicely equipped and a blast to drive, this Corvette roadster is your ticket into one of the greatest segments of the old car hobby. Who cares how many they built, the point is that you can get a great-looking and distinctive classic Corvette for the price of a used Malibu sedan. The two-tone color scheme has aged well and this one sports a sparkling interior that's pure 1978 cool. A big part of the Corvette experience is hanging out with other Corvette guys, and you'll find that this Anniversary car will be welcomed with open arms wherever you go. The distinctive silver over dark gray paint scheme has aged well and a lot of non-Corvette folks will assume it's a custom job. The truth is, this is how the factory did it, and the overall finish is certainly appropriate for the age and care which a car like this has received over the years. There's a great gloss to the paint with only minor signs of use, and the crisp bodywork, even gaps, and overall look suggest a car that has been a cherished toy all its life and never a daily driver. All the special markings are still there, from the insignias on the front fenders to the L82 badges on the hood, it's definitely got a special look. The car has a very correct look overall save for the quartet of exhaust pipes sticking out in back, but we'll get to those in a moment. The sparkling interior was called Parchment by some and Oyster by the guys at Chevrolet when this car came out, but either way it's a perfect match for 1978. The beautiful seats just have to be wearing replacement seat covers, because upholstery that's 36 years old never looks that good. However, the carpets may very well be nice originals and the door panels are certainly up to snuff. You'll note that this car is loaded with options, including A/C, power windows and locks, cruise control, and a tilt steering column, all befitting Chevy's flagship. The gauges are original and show quite well, along with a newer Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo head unit neatly installed in the center stack. Color-matched floor mats help keep those light-colored carpets looking their best, and with the T-tops off on a sunny day, you'll appreciate this interior a lot more than something darker. The engine is a well-maintained and mildly modified 350, with plenty of bite behind the bark. With an open-element air cleaner, a Moroso ignition system, a mild camshaft, long-tube headers, and an aluminum intake manifold with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor on top, it's got more than a few more horsepower today. Finned valve covers add a retro-looking bit of performance hardware, and new chrome pieces like the alternator and master cylinder brighten up the formerly all-black engine bay. A TH350 3-speed automatic was by far the most popular transmission choice in 1978 and it's flanked by a set of low-restriction mufflers that dump into those shiny chrome pipes I mentioned earlier. This 'Vette certainly sounds nasty! The chassis is impressively clean overall, perfect for a car that's going to get driven, and the factory slotted aluminum wheels have the right look inside fat 255/60/15 Uniroyal white-letter radials. The other Corvette guys are going to be mighty surprised when they see how well this Anniversary 'Vette moves, and the slick bodywork and gorgeous interior are merely camouflage for a very fun car. Clean, original, affordable Corvettes are still out there, and there just can't be many nicer than this, especially with a full ownership history and a classic look. Code 924 Pewter Silver is handsome, not too light, not too dark, but a subtle color that looks great on the timeless Stingray shape. It's also the rarest of all 1972 colors with only 1372 Corvettes built in this color, and it suddenly looks pretty up-to-date with today's sophisticated color pallets. All the panel gaps are factory correct, and it has a fantastic gloss to the finish with none of the cracking in the usual spots. Aside from a small nick on the top of the driver's front fender, this sucker looks absolutely fantastic. And when it comes to C3s, you're either a chrome bumper guy or a rubber bumper guy; this one sports the original style chrome units that frame the egg crate grilles up front and add interest to the flat rear panel with CORVETTE block letters above. The stainless trim is in excellent shape and the lenses are so clear and bright that they have to be reproductions. This is one clean-looking 'Vette! Believe it or not, that code 412 blue interior is how this car was ordered, and you have to admit that the combination works extremely well. It's also likely to be one of only a handful of cars in this color combination, making it a standout at shows and Corvette events. As a well-maintained car, the line between the original components and new pieces is blurry, but that's a good thing, with new carpets working in conjunction with what appear to be original seat covers. The entire interior shows just the right amount of patina, and it's very difficult to determine what has been replaced. We know for certain that the dash pad, console, and maybe even the door panels are original, and the gauges are all crisp and their lenses are scratch-free, more proof that someone cherished this car from day one. This Corvette is nicely optioned with functioning factory A/C, an AM/FM radio, and an automatic transmission, making it the kind of car you can drive cross-country without a second thought. Heck, even the original jack is still in its spot! The engine is the original, matching numbers ZQ3 350 cubic inch V8, which was the base engine in 1972. Nevertheless, it makes an impressive 360 pounds of torque and moves the Corvette with enough potency that most cars are still advised to leave it alone. The engine bay shows signs of loving care throughout its life with lots of recent work, including bright Chevy Orange paint on the original valve covers. The original TH400 3-speed automatic transmission still shifts power to a set of 3.36 gears in back, and a new stainless dual exhaust system was installed not too long ago. It's not detailed, but it's in excellent driving condition with evidence of clean living everywhere you look. Rally wheels ride on a set of 245/60/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials. Clean, honest Corvettes don't get much nicer than this, especially if you're the kind of guy who likes to just jump in and go. Thanks to the rumbling small block under the hood, it's a party to drive, and there aren't many cars that will generate more attention than this one on a warm summer day. As a result, cars like this clean two-tone blue Corvette are somewhat rarer, with a fraction as many being produced. And to many, the 1982 Corvette represents the pinnacle of C3 engineering and development, making them the ones to own if you're a serious collector. The two-tone blue finish on this car is how it came from the factory (code 24/26 Silver Blue over Dark Blue) and looks awesome on the '82 model's dramatic curves. Any C3 'Vette is a sight to see, but by the time this car was built, the design had been refined to the point where it was instantly recognizable anywhere in the world. With no signs of previous accidents and a brilliant shine, there will be no chance of keeping a low profile in this fantastic plastic Corvette. Panel fit is about what you got with your new Corvette in 1982, good, but not perfect, but it's obvious that this car has always been properly cared for. The only demerit is a crack on the hood that came from the bracing underneath, but otherwise this is one clean 'Vette. All the original emblems were reinstalled, including the "cross-fire injection" badges on the front fenders which were unique to the 1982 model year. A matching blue leather interior offers deep, plush power buckets that are every bit as comfortable as they look, and do an above-average job of keeping you in place during spirited maneuvers. They show light wear that's entirely in line with the car's age and mileage, and absolutely no rips or tears in the material. All the gauges work, and I'm especially fond of the steering wheel wrapped in black leather, which is low-key and stylish. A 4-speed automatic transmission was a new fuel-saving measure in 1982, and the only transmission available in the Corvette that year, so that's what sits in the center console. This one also features things like A/C, cruise control, power windows, power locks, and a tilt wheel, adding to the Corvette's luxury/performance mission, as well as a newer AM/FM/CD stereo head unit. Even the blue carpets are in very good shape with only light fading, which isn't surprising since this car has spent a lot of its life in warm, dry Arizona. The Cross-Fire Injection was an early version of throttle-body fuel injection, and makes a nice, round 200 horsepower in the 1982 Corvette. The engine bay in this one is nicely preserved, befitting its mileage, with the large dual air filter unit dominating the top of the engine itself. It's quite clean under the hood, suggesting that someone has always loved this car, and everything is as the factory intended with none of the usual modifications you find on small block Chevys. Underneath, it's very clean with a correct 2-1-2 exhaust system that looks quite recent and more evidence of life lived in the desert. A composite leaf spring is another C3 innovation that would foreshadow the equipment in the upcoming C4, and that, too, is still in place. 1982 Corvettes came with some of the most beautiful ally wheels of the period, with these surrounded with fat 225/70/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials. Forget the so-called "Collector's Editions," this icy blue Corvette is the one to own if you're serious about the last of the C3s. With a strong-running small block, a 4-speed, factory air, and a removable hardtop, all at a very reasonable price, you can have a lot of fun without spending five years' worth of mortgage payments to own it. The '73s are popular because they're the last Corvettes with chrome bumpers, and we can't argue with the fact that a dash of chrome makes all the difference on a C3. Of course, bright red paint doesn't hurt either, and if you're going to drive a Corvette roadster, it may as well be high-visibility. This one was originally code 945 Blue-Green, but the transformation to Mille Miglia Red was thorough and complete, with no trace of the original color visible anywhere. During the color change, it also got all its gaps lined up just right, and if there were ever any cracks around the headlights, they've been thoroughly excised. The urethane nose cone is in excellent condition and unlike original cars, it's actually the same color as the rest of the body. In back, the familiar chrome bumper is probably original and would really respond well to a deep polish; in fact, spending a Saturday afternoon giving this car a deep clean would really pay big dividends overall. It's pretty nice, but some elbow grease would make it amazing. The black interior is mostly new, including the seat covers, carpets, and dash pad, so it feels fresh when you slide behind the wheel. This car is a real-deal 4-speed 'Vette, which was a relative rarity in 1973, and the shifter falls easily to hand and feels instantly familiar. The gauges are probably original and in good condition, as is the rest of the dash, and it appears that everything is working except the right turn signal; even the A/C blows cold! An AM/FM stereo radio provides the entertainment, but we're guessing that once you peel the top back and unwind the 350 through the gears, you'll decide that you don't need it. It does seal up rather well and doesn't have the usual squeaks and rattles you'd expect of a vintage Corvette. Some of that is due to the tight-fitting black convertible top, and it gets even better with the removable hardtop in place, a desirable option. The 350 cubic inch V8 isn't the original engine, but it runs so well, you won't worry about what numbers are stamped on it. A set of color-matched valve covers give it a unique look and it isn't heavily modified so reliability is still unparalleled. It could benefit from a detail job, but even as it sits, you won't hesitate to get in, turn the key, and have some fun. The 4-speed manual transmission is connected to the engine via a new clutch and there's a great-sounding dual exhaust system with correct rectangular tips out back. The undercarriage is quite clean with no signs this car has been neglected or abused and with factory Rally wheels and fat 225/70/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials, it looks great and sits right. A bulk of the Corvette hobby is made up of cars just like this, and with a very reasonable sticker price, a top that goes down, and a shift-it-yourself transmission, there aren't many that are more fun. They're not iconic '63s, yet they have all the upgrades that came in '65, most notably 4-wheel disc brakes, and with a small block and 4-speed gearbox, this one can pretty much run with the big dogs that would come a few years later. Obviously, if you like driving your Corvette, this handsome convertible represents tremendous bang for the buck. If you drive any mid-year Corvette, especially a convertible, you're going to get noticed. Subject to a cosmetic freshening about ten years ago, this one remains in very good condition that's what most folks would consider a high-grade "driver." The fiberglass prep was expertly done, and while to the judges a flawed Corvette is a perfect Corvette, this one has no such pretensions. The surface was sanded until it was smooth and flat, the gaps were expertly aligned, and the finish is two-stage urethane that's smoother, deeper, and shinier than anything rolling out of the St. Louis plant in 1965. There's a bit of pearl in the finish which doesn't detract from the '60s look but definitely makes this car glow in the sunlight. A few touch-ups here and there are evidence that this Corvette was built to be enjoyed but none of them are serious enough to warrant additional work. In addition, all the chrome shines up beautifully, the stainless looks like it spent some time with a buffing wheel, and the shiny rocker trim looks freshly minted. The bright red interior is a great combination of original and restored parts, all working together to make this Corvette a great place to spend some time. The seat covers are correct and these seats are some of the most inviting buckets I've seen in a long time; they're just begging you to slide behind the wheel, aren't they? The gauges have bright faces and the lenses are clear, and they all work like they should. Recent carpets add to the factory-fresh feeling, but the door panels may very well be original and aside from a small crack where the driver's elbow might rest, they're in great condition. The radio is a rare AM/FM unit with that unique vertical orientation, and there's a woodgrained steering wheel that appears to be original as well. A recent black vinyl convertible top fits well and provides great contrast, although you'll probably never see it again after you get this car home. The block is a 327 cubic inch V8 that makes plenty of power to be entertaining on the road. It certainly looks right under that chrome air cleaner and with a pair of gorgeous finned valve covers, and while it's no longer detailed for show, you can see plenty of evidence of proper maintenance over the years. There's nothing like a cackling small block and just listening to this one idle is a treat, never mind winding it through the all four gears. Ram's horn exhaust manifolds feed a reproduction exhaust system and the front suspension was recently rebuilt, so it tracks straight. The Muncie M20 4-speed has been fully rebuilt, and out back a set of 3.36 gears make it street friendly no matter what you're doing. Four-wheel discs were new in '65 and much welcome given the car's performance, and it rides on pretty knock-off wheels with recent 215/70/14 whitewall radials. Built to drive, this '65 Corvette offers all the great looks of the C2 with strong small block power and a top that goes down, all at a very reasonable price. While the early Stingrays with 427s get all the attention, if you're looking for a great-running 'Vette with a 4-speed and side pipes that doesn't foul its plugs in traffic, this is the hot ticket. The body on this Stingray still looks awesome even after all these years. There are few cars that will attract more attention than a C3 and definitely none that are more widely recognized. Roll up in this fantastic plastic and EVERYBODY notices. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the bodywork is super straight, with excellent prep over well-preserved original fiberglass that has never been damaged. Mille Miglia Red seems like the archetypal Corvette color today, but in 1971 it was only the fifth most popular color, which is surprising, don't you think? Either way, it looks simply spectacular. Gaps are about as good as you can get on an untouched original C3 and most Stingray fans prefer the chrome bumpers to the later urethane units. And speaking of brightwork, the bumpers are in great shape, the stainless is polished, all the Stingray script emblems are in place, and there's nothing quite like an early Corvette with shiny chrome side pipes. You want American performance in fiberglass, this is definitely it. This car's fastidious care throughout its life is most evident inside, where the original black interior is in excellent condition. The seat covers remain supple and comfortable, with only minor signs of wear, and the woven inserts remain comfortable even on hot days. It's not perfect, but rather stylish and inviting, exactly the way you'd want your favorite car to look. There are no split seams, no scuffs, and certainly no sun damage, despite the T-tops overhead, and black never goes out of style, especially in a red car. The carpets are similarly excellent, and the door panels match the seats with a comfortable, lived-in look. Other goodies include a modern AM/FM/cassette stereo and those cool fiber-optic bulb indicators in the console, which would disappear after 1971. And yes, that's a 4-speed manual shifter in the center console, making the '71 'Vette a somewhat rare find. This car will also eat lesser machines on the road, thanks to the original, numbers-matching 350 cubic inch V8 under the hood. With a stout 270 horsepower, it's the smart choice for the guy who likes to drive his Corvette, because it's not only quick, it's a combination that was perfected decades ago. Reliable and virtually indestructible, the engines wide torque band makes it the ideal powerplant for long-distance cruising. Nicely detailed with correct Chevy Orange paint on the block, the original air cleaner with chrome lid, and fresh plugs, wires, and hoses, it's ready to rumble. The 4-speed Muncie transmission is the perfect dance partner, and it feeds a set of highway-friendly gears out back, so this Corvette is a joy on the highway with plenty of punch at any speed. The rumbling dual exhaust system sounds spectacular blowing through those side pipes and the Rally wheels wear 235/70/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials. An awesome survivor, this pretty red Corvette is begging for a long road trip this summer. Finished using its original color combination, including the gorgeous code UU Rally Red paint, this Corvette roadster is one of those rare cars that can be driven and enjoyed while it appreciates as an investment. And now that Corvettes are grade-A collectables, even the driver-grade cars like this are going to be as safe as money in the bank. The fiberglass body is quite straight, with crisp body lines and doors that close with that unique Corvette sound. Two-stage urethane paint replicates the original hue, a vivid red that shines up well, so it plays quite well on the C3's dramatic shape. It's not perfect and you won't want to park this one in a trailer, but for a car that begs to be driven, it's exactly right. They didn't take any liberties with the car, either, so it wears a correct hood, reproduction badges, and brightly chromed bumpers that show well despite their age. The trim tag calls for code 407 red vinyl, so that's what went into the car when the time for replacement arrived. Corvette stylists were hitting on all 8 cylinders when the Stingray was designed, so you get a gorgeous, well-detailed interior that's uniquely American with a lot of European influences. The red bucket seats wear reproduction seat covers that match the originals exactly, with great detail and no wrinkles. New carpets and door panels help add to the fresh feeling inside, and there are great-looking analog gauges in the instrument panel. The only deviations from stock are the AM/FM stereo radio in the center stack, but it accurately replicates the Corvette's original vertical orientation and a discreetly installed A/C system that's remarkably effective with modern components driving it. There's a white convertible top that fits so well we were almost afraid to put it down, and the crystal clear rear window looks like new. On a car that looks as good as this one does, the interior is a highlight. Numbers matching is critical on an investment-grade Corvette, and the L75 327/300 under the hood is this car's original engine. Rebuilt to stock specs and fully detailed in 2011, it's ready to hit the road. Correct Chevy Orange paint covers all the engine surfaces, and they did it right by painting the engine after it was assembled so it looks like it did on the showroom floor. A chrome air cleaner lid, beautiful finned valve covers, and a chrome alternator add some under-hood sparkle, but there's no denying the appeal is in how it runs. Ram's horn exhaust manifolds lead to a recent dual exhaust system that sounds right and the rest of the chassis is in good order, although not detailed for show. Up close you'll see a rebuilt suspension and Muncie 4-speed transmission, so it drives even better than it looks. Pretty knock-off wheels with spinners look awesome on any C3 Corvette and they wear 205/75/15 Michelin whitewall radials for a correct look. Still modestly priced, this 1965 roadster is a car you can show with pride, drive with a big grin on your face, and will always be worth at least what you've spent on it.
