Its been family owned past 9 years. Previous owner had a 375hp crate engine and a new turbo 350 transmission installed. They have roughly 15000 miles on the engine and transmission. I am not positive if the odometer is correct but i believe there is 71000 miles on the body. The engine makes the car a lot more fun to drive then a stock 81 corvette with 195hp. It has true dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers and hedman headers. There is no pollution control or catalytic converter. The paint is a good quality driver paint with a few scratches and chips. The interior is stock and shows its age with its wear. The leather seats are in excellent shape. The drivers armrest has a crack in it and long with a crack in the plastic screw mount. I removed it so it wouldn't get further damaged and will come with the car. There is some staining on the carpet and a few minor stains on the drivers door panel. The storage compartments lids hinges are broke. The car has power locks(currently do not work), power windows, power drivers seat(the plastic seat control mount is loose), tilt and telescoping steering wheel, cruise control(which did not get hooked up when engine was switched), aftermarket cassette radio, A/C which wasn't hooked up after engine swap, and automatic transmission. The radio works and still gets reception but the antenna is has been broken therefore I couldn't tell you if the static is in the reception or speakers but i do know the speakers in the car are old and could probably stand some updating. It has mirrored glass T-tops that are in good shape with no cracks or chips. There is nothing like cruising with the t-tops off in a corvette. It has the corvette aluminum rims on BF Goodrich 245 60R15s that have a lot tread left on them. I have the orginal spare tire and holder that will be included with the car but they are not mounted underneath the car. The corvette has cross drilled and slotted rotors with good pads giving the corvette excellent stopping power. The tip of the ignition key is broken off in the ignition, but the car starts fine with the broken key. The car drives well and handles well. It is a very fun car to drive and cruise around in. It is a head turner where ever you go. This is a car that is ready to drive and enjoy. I am currently moving and looking to sell the car to use the money towards the new house. The car is sold as is with buyer responsible for shipping or pick up. There is no warranty stated or implied. The title is free and clear and in hand. This dark red metallic ( 1148 painted this color one of the rarest colors for this year)1992 corvette hatchback has had the issues and the things that would have wear on this age of a c 4 corvette replaced/addressed / repaired in the last year . Such as the following new injectorsnew water pump4 new Nexen tires on a set of C 5 Corvette G.M. factory rims front tires are 275-40 -17 on 17x 8.5 rims rear are 275-35-18 on 18 x 9.5 rims ( you will also get the set of the original for this year rims with tires as well as the lug nuts with special lock nut lock nut socket and the lug nut covers plus the lock nut socket for the c 5 set of wheels also . the tires on the original wheels have good tread but are weather cracked)2 door switches ( makes your light go off and turns off the door ajar flasher these go bad often on these)2 hatch opening switches ( the ones that are one the door panel edges ) Replaced the console doorcar comes with 2 targa tops 1 targa top correct wrench ( bronze transparent one which will need new seals has a star crack ect but does not leak and a black solid one with headlinerwith all nice seals on all edges.)antenna has been replaced with a correct G.M. replacement of the the original design of this year not the replacement they sell nownew front spoiler and hardwarenew carpet set including the main floor carpet of course , sill plates,console sides,and cargo areanew interior door panels burl wood shift knobdiscontinued plated gold 1984 horn emblem was added to information screen by grinding off the tabs using trim tape ( easy to remove if one does not like it without hurting a thing or leaving a mark )also have a emblem to go on the console between the seat control buttons but I was waiting to install the wood kit for the console ,dash and door panels before installing ( wood kit has not been bought yet that is next winter if the car does not sell)seat covers were not replaced yet (if the car does not sell new leather seat covers will be done this coming winter)head light motors were rebuiltpassenger side seat track was replacednew rear hatch weatherstripfront and rear targa seals around the windsheld and rear of car do not leak but for looks could be changed (another job for next winter if not sold)emblems have been changed to rare discontinued gold metal ( to replace the tired original black ones )all new bulbs ,fuses and even hazard flasher have been replaced so you should be set for a long time on all that. all items on the car work,power windowspower door locks.power heated mirrorspower seats4 wheel disc brakes which were serviced air blows cold heater works well Boise Gold CD player works and radio portion pulls signals well speaker System seems to be good cassette player does not work right but who has cassettes anymore?traction control inside and outside temp rear defrost the car is priced fairly for all the work that has been done on it and am only looking to get what I have in building the car out of it.I love cars and always wanting a new toy,that is the only reason it is for sale. I am to the point in life I want cars that after already working hard during the day and I am tired I can cleanup and go for a ride of an evening not spend my most of my time having to work on the car. I would be interested in a 1955 or 1957 Chevy 2 door hardtop or sedan (I would look at original , pro street gasser style) I like 1950's customs/kustom cars with an old school flavor (George Barris, Alexander brothers,Watson style) I like the corvette 4 or 6 speed depending on series convertibles ( looking for ones from the C1,C2 C3 C5 eras ) original motors and transmissions though at this point in there age I realize those parts will have maybe been rebuilt 1932 - 1936 FORD I would rather it be roadster/ convertible not a rat rod but an old traditional style car is fine. like Flatheads .I would think about the right 3,5 window coupe or 2 door sedan 1969 Camaro z/ 28 or R/S 1967-1972 Chevelle SS

I'm listing for sale my pride and joy. I absolutely love this car, it's unique, it's fast, it's drop dead gorgeous, it's...well...it's a Grand Sport Corvette, number 616 out of 1000. Chevrolet made 190 convertibles and 810 coupes. The problem is I am at the point where I want to cruise around with friends, kids, and grand kids, so I am buying a 442 convertible and I don't have the space for both. I've had this car over 5 years, my wife and I flew to Texas and drove it home, we are the 3rd owner. Now it is time for someone else to enjoy this Corvette. I have done next to nothing to it other than buy a special cool car cover that goes with the car, it took me 5 months to get it! The previous owner did add some very neat stuff to the car. He installed (in 2010 with 67,000 miles) all new suspension bushings, bilstein shocks, stainless steel brake lines, rotors, brake pads, rebuilt the calipers, ball joints and tie rod ends. He also installed a GM hot cam, upgraded springs, new lifters, new valve seals, SLP air breather, TTS coated LT headers, High Flow Cats, Magnaflow 3" stainless exhaust with black powder coated muffler cans and tips.........which look and sound amazing (video upon request). Please consider the cost of these upgrades when bidding. He told me the original owner had just had the dealer replace the opti along with a new water pump. The second owner also put in new carpet and sound dampening from MAM and most weatherstripping. When he had it listed for sale someone asked "why if the car only had 67,000 miles did he replace the stuff he did". His answer "it is 14 years old, people think some parts last forever, I do not agree, the original tie rod ends had cracks in the boots, carpet was sagging, brake lines and pads are wear items, headers and exhaust because it is far above the stock system, cam because it performs better".......I think he was just a pro-active owner, that's why the car is so solid and tight. I have the original window sticker, documents from the first owner, manual and glove box contents. Tires are like new. I have some original LT4 exhaust manifolds that go with the car as well as an air cleaner assembly. I'm not going to go into detail about how special this car and it's LT4 engine is, it's unique VIN number, if you are looking at it you probably already know, if not, you can google all the information you need. The car does have a few minor touched up chips in the front. It could use new weatherstripping on the window posts at the rear of the side windows. Occasionally when starting the car there is a grinding noise. Some other owners have said their cars do it too, that it could be the clutch fork needs adjusted because it travels too far. The car is detailed and in as new condition underneath, wheel wells are mint, steering is perfectly straight. I can not stress enough how smooth and quiet and FAST the car is. I have owned several Corvettes and this is by far the best handling and quickest of all. There's something special when you can drive down the road and people point and stare, you probably won't pass another one unless you go to the many car shows and clubs involving these Grand Sports. Last time I checked there was only 27 in Indiana! I feel there is no better bang for your buck than a C4 Corvette, and why not have one of the rarest of all Corvettes ever made, a surefire investment. Listed with sadness and a modest reserve.
