I'm listing for sale my pride and joy. I absolutely love this car, it's unique, it's fast, it's drop dead gorgeous, it's...well...it's a Grand Sport Corvette, number 616 out of 1000. Chevrolet made 190 convertibles and 810 coupes. The problem is I am at the point where I want to cruise around with friends, kids, and grand kids, so I am buying a 442 convertible and I don't have the space for both. I've had this car over 5 years, my wife and I flew to Texas and drove it home, we are the 3rd owner. Now it is time for someone else to enjoy this Corvette. I have done next to nothing to it other than buy a special cool car cover that goes with the car, it took me 5 months to get it! The previous owner did add some very neat stuff to the car. He installed (in 2010 with 67,000 miles) all new suspension bushings, bilstein shocks, stainless steel brake lines, rotors, brake pads, rebuilt the calipers, ball joints and tie rod ends. He also installed a GM hot cam, upgraded springs, new lifters, new valve seals, SLP air breather, TTS coated LT headers, High Flow Cats, Magnaflow 3" stainless exhaust with black powder coated muffler cans and tips.........which look and sound amazing (video upon request). Please consider the cost of these upgrades when bidding. He told me the original owner had just had the dealer replace the opti along with a new water pump. The second owner also put in new carpet and sound dampening from MAM and most weatherstripping. When he had it listed for sale someone asked "why if the car only had 67,000 miles did he replace the stuff he did". His answer "it is 14 years old, people think some parts last forever, I do not agree, the original tie rod ends had cracks in the boots, carpet was sagging, brake lines and pads are wear items, headers and exhaust because it is far above the stock system, cam because it performs better".......I think he was just a pro-active owner, that's why the car is so solid and tight. I have the original window sticker, documents from the first owner, manual and glove box contents. Tires are like new. I have some original LT4 exhaust manifolds that go with the car as well as an air cleaner assembly. I'm not going to go into detail about how special this car and it's LT4 engine is, it's unique VIN number, if you are looking at it you probably already know, if not, you can google all the information you need. The car does have a few minor touched up chips in the front. It could use new weatherstripping on the window posts at the rear of the side windows. Occasionally when starting the car there is a grinding noise. Some other owners have said their cars do it too, that it could be the clutch fork needs adjusted because it travels too far. The car is detailed and in as new condition underneath, wheel wells are mint, steering is perfectly straight. I can not stress enough how smooth and quiet and FAST the car is. I have owned several Corvettes and this is by far the best handling and quickest of all. There's something special when you can drive down the road and people point and stare, you probably won't pass another one unless you go to the many car shows and clubs involving these Grand Sports. Last time I checked there was only 27 in Indiana! I feel there is no better bang for your buck than a C4 Corvette, and why not have one of the rarest of all Corvettes ever made, a surefire investment. Listed with sadness and a modest reserve.
