I've owned this car since 2008. It's a solid, clean, rust free original paint car. I consider it as more or less a tribute car to if GM had gotten serious about CFI, (Crossfire Injection) performance in the 3rd gen Camaro/Firebird. I had always wanted to find a clean LU5 car and add a free flowing, period correct exhaust and T5. And that's pretty much what I did here. I've tried to use original, AC Delco or period correct pieces wherever possible. Even the shifter ball was sourced from an '83 Z28, with the correct stitching going up and down.The restrictive exhaust has been replaced with L69 exhaust manifolds, a custom made 2.25" Y-pipe, going into a 3" Catco High Flow cat, into a real 3" intermediate pipe, and an SLP 2OTL muffler tailpipe. It could use new T-Top seals and window sweeps. There is a small leak from the speedometer gear at the rear of the transmission. I replaced an O-ring which stopped the leak, but I just noticed it has started again.I also have some very rare and hard to find parts I bought for this car, which can be bought separately or will include for asking price.. The LAST EVER in the world, GM, CFI hood insulation molded with the aluminum backing, still in the original GM box, new and unused. New and unused blue GM front floor mats. I searched for years to get these, haven't seen any since and have never installed them. I saw new GM floor mats in the common black color on ebay for $500 last month. How much are these super-duper rare blue ones worth? Your guess is as good as mine. Complete, blue Lear Siegler Conteur interior, including nice door panels - which I had to pay through the nose for. Front seats need to be re-upholstered and I have purchased enough "CAMARO" fabric to do them. I don't have the blue bolster fabric, though.This is a cool, fun car, but it's also 32 years old and shows some wear. Let me know if you have any questions. Car currently has 106K miles. Up for sale is a one of kind 1999 Camaro Z-28 35th Anniversary Tribute SS. There was no detail overlooked in the building of this car. Outside the car was designed to resemble the 35th Anniversary Edition from 2002. However, the stripes are actually painted not decals like the factory one is. The "SS" package was added as well, but much more was done than what was done by SLP for the "factory" option. (All SS cars roll out of the factory as Z28's then were sent to SLP for the package). This car is WAY more than hood, spoiler, badges, intake, and exhaust. The interior of the car is really unique with a fighter jet theme. Once strapped into the bolstered race seat and harnesses, you're surrounded by switches, gauges, and real aircraft joystick shifter for absolute control. Which you'll need to tame the almost 470 horsepower and 440 ft./lbs of torque. The upgraded chassis and drivetrain will keep that power in check as you command the street or racetrack. Every upgrade was done tastefully but completely, from the subtle exterior upgrades to the completely re-engineered interior, not to mention the impressive engine bay. The list of modifications and upgrades below is complete with very little of the car actually having the 95,000 miles that the odometer reads. I've owned this car since 2002 and it has been my pride and joy. It turns heads wherever it goes. It has been garage kept as long as I've had the car, driven only in the rain when I was caught by the weather, and parked in the garage for the winter. It has always been kept with the best care. I just finished completing a full engine rebuild and necessary updates and upgrades, basically firewall forward, the car has 200 miles of engine break-in on it. All the "wear and tear" stuff has also been replaced this past winter (see list below). All of the other components are listed in detail and with mileage associated. The car does have 95,000 on the odometer, but few things actually have that mileage on them. The car looks like it just rolled off the dealership lot, it has way more power than factory engine but without the hassle and danger of huge horsepower. It puts out roughly 470 horsepower and 440 ft/lbs of torque. With the recent engine build, my best guess puts the car 0-60 in the 3.5-3.8 second range with a quarter mile time of anywhere from 11.7-11.9 with a good driver and a good track. I upgraded to forged pistons and planned on adding Nitrous but stopped short, only adding the wiring, leaving that decision up to the buyer. With a good Nitrous kit and tune, this car is capable of a 200 horsepower shot, putting the car into "exotic car fast" territory. I welcome any questions, I love to talk about the car. Part of me hates to let go, but I have different priorities now and the car just sits in the garage under the cover way too much. Why are there so many miles?When I was younger and in college, I took several road trips, and used the car all summer long (as long the sun was out). I figured at the time, why have a great car and not drive it? Most of the miles were highway. Why was the engine rebuilt this winter? What was wrong with it?After being driven 95,000, the engine was worn and was in need of a rebuild. I was getting oil blow-off at idle decelerating in gear. (The piston rings were just getting weak, there was no major damage or failure of any kind) At first sign, I parked the car and a month later, my daughter was born. After 3 years of waiting for funding and time, I had to rebuild my pride and joy, back to her glory, whether for me or someone else. I spent over $6,000 just this winter, doing most of the work myself, other than the major engine work. (I'm an certified aircraft mechanic). If the work had been done at a shop, the cost would have been closer to $10,000-$12,000. What's wrong with car? I can honestly say that the only thing that doesn't work is the cruise control. I have tinkered with trying to get it to work and some days it does, other days it doesn't. I never used it and it never bothered me. The A/C blows cold and has always worked great. The stock stereo works perfect and the CD player works great. All the power doors, windows, etc. work. There are absolutely no OBD II codes or lights. The car has never been in any kind of accident or incident. The only time is has ever spent in the body shop was when the stripes were painted on. The car looks and runs better than it ever has! It truly is a rare gem!
