For sale in our Chicago showroom is a piece of American muscle car history, a 1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 30th Anniversary Edition. Happy 30th birthday! To celebrate, Camaro was chosen to pace the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in August of 1996. This beauty is painted just like the official pace car, Arctic White with Hugger Orange heritage stripes. This was similar to the Indy 500 pace car of 1969. A special white and black hounds tooth interior was featured, part of Camaro\'s early heritage. A total of 4,534 of these anniversary models were built. Of that number, only 1,497 had the six-speed manual transmission in a coupe/t-top. The body lines create an arrow shape which makes for astonishingly low drag coefficient. Pop the hood to see the original, numbers matching LT-1 engine. This 5.7 liter was rated at 285 hp from the factory and is backed by a T-56 manual transmission. Grab a hold of the Hurst short-throw shifter and bang through all 6 gears as you cruise down the road. Following this is a stock 10-bolt rear end with 3.42 gears. This Camaro is a Carfax certified 1-owner car. A \"true\" 30th Anniversary Edition Camaro is RPO code Z4C, which means not only was it Arctic White with Hugger Orange stripes, but also came with Arctic white 5 spoke wheels and had \"30th Anniversary\" embroidered on both front seat backs and in between the rear seats. You also had a choice of white leather interior or white leather with black %26 white hounds tooth inserts. This 2000 Camaro SS convertible is located in our Louisville KY showroom. This pampered SS is in excellent condition looking better than just about of the F-body\'s you see today. With only a total of 165 leaving the factory being black automatic convertibles this is sure to be a collector. The LS1 has a ton of power, 320 ponies to be exact, which were 15 more than the Z28 model. Those extra ponies were achieved by using a SLP air lid as well as a low-restriction exhaust system with dual 2 3/4-in. tailpipes. Handling was also given a boost with stiffened springs as well as a custom strut bar to add to the stiffening. A power steering cooler was also added just in case you take it out on track days. The rear-end sports a Torsen limited-slip performance axle giving this Camaro an excellent driving feel. Open the door and you will see an interior that looks like it just came out of Detroit. The plush leather buckets are comfortable with enough side support to keep you in them when you are tackling the curves. It even has the original SS floor mats that came with the car. The tan vinyl top shows no wear at all and goes up just as fast as it comes down.
