To many enthusiasts it is the ultimate 50’s Cruiser. Its styling is timeless. And, OH those tail fins!! Plus, take a look at the hood with those gun sites! This 57 Convertible was the subject of a body-off restoration several years ago, but has only traveled 800 miles since. Things in particular I want you to notice are the dual exhaust pipes with the proper exhaust manifolds, the power pack heads connected to the correct 57 block and a very nice working Rochester carburetor. Please also notice the correct black air cleaner and the correct valve covers adorned in Chevy orange paint. This classic is also correctly finished in the red oxide primer on the floors and has had all the suspension items front and rear redone correctly. The best feature is the very rare 3-Speed on the tree manual transmission with OVERDRIVE. This is a very rare option! This iconic legend is absolutely beautiful as you can plainly see and would fit right in with your collection of classic cars. The stance on this 57 Chevy Convertible is fantastic and it really looks great going down the road, especially with those nice wide whites it is sporting. The Body is straight as an arrow. All doors, trunk, hood are all aligned like they should. The interior is very nice with no tears on the seats. The car did receive a full restoration several years back. It has always been garage kept and well taken care. All the chromes are in great shape. Paint is real nice has minor imperfections. I did touch-up some rock chips its hard to tell unless I tell you where they are. Keep in mind the car has been to several car shows and under the sun. I took almost 200 pictures, so I encourage you to look at them. The ones from outside were taken last week at an event for Port of Miami. Also including a full spare wheel with it. Clean FL title no issues or liens on the car. Odometer shows 36,800 miles but they are exempt. I use premium gas in it. Car is a blast to drive! 1956 Chevrolet Belair Convertible-Project-NOT THE CAR PICTURED! READ BELOW! Chassis-Cleaned prepped painted, Heidt's IFS suspension and Heid't IRS suspension as well. Has had a Chevrolet LS engine and a 4L60E transmission installed. Body-Currently at an excellent body shop, all body work done and the first base color applied. Ready for the second color and scheduled to be done in the next couple of weeks. I followed the Chip Foose 56 paint scheme with the coffe and cream color applied 1" over the stainless and below. The second color is a cream and will be applied above that line. I have most or all of the interior, including the original seats. It is in original condition, and would need to be redone. There will be a picture of a very similar paint job I did on a 55 Belair Convertible I sold last year in the pictures. Convertible Top Frame comes with the car. Wheels and tires are only for transportation Some or most all of the trim comes with the car, as weel as bumpers. The car comes without a drive train. But setup for the LS engine and 4L60-family of transmissions. Selling the car "as is" or I will continue managing construction of the vehicle for a reasonable shop rate. Inquiries are welcome, as well as visits to see the beautiful condition. I understand that I am asking a great deal of money for a partially completed vehicle, but it is a chance to finish this car and have a Very nice and desireable convertible. And it doesn't matter, but I have as much money just in the suspension and brakes, paint and body work as I am asking. Finished in trim tag correct Romany Red over 325 red/white interior, the car has a stunning and classic look. The job was completed approximately 15 years ago, and since then, it has been in the care of a collector who drove the car to local shows. It has been lovingly kept in a climate controlled garage and is a wonderful car to cruise. During the restoration, the body and undercarriage where all stripped down to bare metal and received all new bodywork and a fresh coat of 2 stage paint. The chrome was redone and the original stainless was straightened and polished. The frame of the car was stripped and refinished as well. Before the body was put back on the frame, all new bushings were installed. The interior was replaced at the time of the restoration and remains in excellent condition. The top was replaced as well, as were all of the seals. While the frame was on the ground, all of the suspension and brake components were refreshed. The restoration used stock components and the car rides smoothly and handles appropriately per its period of build. The steering components were rebuilt as well, using the factory manual steering and manual drum brakes. The car rides on a new, but correct looking set of bias ply white walls. The motor is a date code correct 235 CI Blue Flame from 1954 and has been completely rebuilt during the restoration. Know for their "sewing machine" like sound due to solid lifter design, these straight-6 engines are some of the best balanced, reliable and smoothest running engines ever produced. This motor is no exception and starts up reliably time and time again. It is stock in nature and runs nice and cool. The smooth shifting, tried and true transmission is a 2-speed Powerglide. It pops off nice clean shifts. For the Chevy enthusiast looking for something a little different from the very common Tri-5, this classy 1954 convertible is a stunner.
