This is one BEAUTIFUL 1955 Bel Air sedan that started as a rust free laser straight body car that was carefully transformed into a powerful street machine! The perfect body on this classic was retained in stock form with the wheel wells intact. The suspension was upgraded to improve handling and to get the 580 horsepower to the ground. The inside wheel wells were tubbed to allow for the big Mickey Thompson 31x18.50 x 15” tires! A high quality 4 link suspension was installed to make sure this car sticks to the ground and handles the way it should. Power from the “Blown Small Block” is delivered through the Hughes Performance Turbo Hydro 400 “Street Rod” transmission backed by a Hughes 3500 RPM Performance High Speed converter. This awesome and streetable power is then delivered to the Ford 9” Detroit Locker. The engine is a 4-bolt 350 bored .040 so she has a 357 c.i. motor that was professionally built by Automotive Diagnostics Specialty, (ADS). As you can see by the long list of performance parts, only the best parts were used to build this bad boy. The mission was to build an engine that anyone could drive on the streets and not have to worry about it being overly radical. She tipped the dyno at 580 H.P. with 594 pounds of torque. With this set up she will impress the best but won’t break the bank either. The sound of this engine is unbelievable… The Jet Hot coated Doug Thorley headers aid in getting the hot gasses out of the engine into the great sounding Magnaflow mufflers and if you REALLY want the motor to come alive just flip the electric switch on the dash to open up the electric cut outs for a non-muffled race car sound. The engine has a “Cool Factor” of 10 out of 10 with the polished 6-71 Littlefield blower with 2-750 CFM Holly Carbs poking it’s head out of the hood for all to drool over. The Edelbrock performance fuel pump delivers the pumped gas to the carbs with MSD performance ignition system to deliver the spark. It comes with the MSD Pro-Billet performance distributer and coil, MSD Ignition box with a rev limiter and MSD spark plug wires. To make sure the engine and transmission runs cool it also has a large “Be Cool” heavy duty polished cross flow radiator with dual electric fans and a transmission cooler. The body is a 100% rust free car that is straight as an arrow with a stunning bright red single stage paint that was applied buy a custom race car and rod shop in Calif. by the name of “Paint and Place”. It also has tinted glass, front bucket seats and bench seat in back. The all new interior was installed by a local shop including new carpet, door panels, headliner and carpet in the trunk along with the battery. To keep tabs on the engine the car is equipped with Auto Meter analog electric gauges along with a boost gauge for the blower. It also has a B&M Pro ratchet shifter and of course a nice stereo and CD player to crank out some tunes. In order to make driving easier it also has power steering and a tilt steering with custom wheel and 4 wheel power disc brakes to help in the stopping department. The stance of the car is nice and level and shows of the level of care and professionalism that went in to building this car. Here is an all original 1957 2 door sedan!!! This vehicle was recently discovered in a garage and has been sitting there over 40 yrs.!!! It's a 6 cylinder car with an automatic trans. As you can see, the car is in need of total restoration. All the trim is there except for the two chrome pcs below the headlights and the two chrome bullets for the hood and front fender chrome. The doors on this vehicle close smoothly and tight. All of the glass is in good shape except the drivers door which is cracked. The floors are rusted along with the trunk area. This 1957 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery was a dream that took many years to reach this state. It has just gone through a complete restoration. Everything is new. It has been driven less than 700 miles. The body was brought down to bare metal before a two tone red and white paint job, separated by side chrome trim from a 1956 Pontiac, was applied. All chrome is either new, freshly polished or re-chromed. All new glass, seals, window channels, felts and weatherstripping were used throughout. Originally from California there were no rust issues anywhere. The undersides is very nice and clean. Everything in the engine compartment is new. Items that could be unbolted (inner fenderwells, radiator support, etc.) were sandblasted and power coated. The entire front suspension was rebuilt (ball joints, bushings, tie rods, idler arm, pitman arm, etc.). New tubular upper and lower control arms, drop spindles and coil springs give it a lowered stance. Lowering blocks in the rear are used to level it out. A chrome "I-did-it" tilt steering column with new rag joints connects to a "CCP" 500 Series power steering box. The front end was then realigned. The body sits on urethane body mounts. The rebuilt Chevrolet small block 350 engine has a "performance" camshaft, "Edelbrock" intake manifold, "Demon" carburetor, aluminum valve covers and a polished aluminum oil pan. For the ignition system there is a "MSD" distributor, wires, coil and "Digital MSD-6AL" ignition box. An aluminum radiator is used to keep the engine running cool. The transmission is a rebuilt 700R4 with overdrive. A "B&M convertor controller" controls torque convertor lockup. There is a polished aluminum transmission pan and locking dip stick. Exhaust system consist of coated and polished long tube headers, 2 1/2" aluminized exhaust system and "Flow Master Super 44" mufflers. It sounds great with the beat of the performance camshaft. The braking system consist of a new power brake booster with additional vacuum reservoir and dual master cylinder. 4 wheel disc brakes were added with "Wilwood" in front and "CPP" in the rear. It has a working parking brake. All new brake lines and braided stainless steel hoses were used before silicone brake fluid was added. New 16" Cragar SS rims and tires were then installed. The interior is beautiful. Everything has just been done. "Dyna Mat" was installed on the floors before new carpets went on. A folding rear seat from a 2 door station wagon was located and added. All new upholstery, door panels, carpets and headliner throughout. All metal interior pieces was painted body color. "Vintage Air" air conditioning system cools the interior. "Kenwood" stereo system with an amplifier neatly hidden under the back seat connects to speakers throughout. The rear speakers are housed in a nice removable boxed enclosure behind the rear seat. New electrical wiring harness with ATO fuse box replaced the old wiring. "Classic Industries" instrument cluster houses all the dash gauges. LED lights are used in the front and rear. A new fuel tank, straps, lines, sending unit and locking gas cap were installed. A album full of receipts showing all new parts used in the build comes with the car. Also, there is a photo album showing the car as it was being restored. As stated, EVERYTHING is either rebuilt or new. I estimate the car to be 90-95% completed. All the hard work is done. There is a bit of "fine tuning" left to be done mechanically. The brakes were just installed by a local shop and needs to be "dialed in". The camshaft may be too big and not producing enough engine vacuum for the brake booster. The torque convertor is a little too "tight" (needs more stall) for this cam. I would replace the camshaft with a milder one. The hood opened while driving at a low speed and bent the passenger side hinge and will need to be replaced. The hood is slightly misaligned and there are a few paint chips on the edge of the fenders as a result of this but functions properly. I will include new hood hinges for the new owner. The air conditioning fan/blower motor does not blow air but the compressor kicks on and the lines are ice cold. May be a wire not connected or faulty fan switch. The paint job could use some wet sanding and buffing on the edges in order to make it "show car" worthy otherwise it is presentable. I recommend inspecting the car in person before bidding. The car does NOT belong to me but I am assisting the family to sell the car. I will answer any questions as best as I can with the information available. 1953 Chevrolet 2 DoorThis beautiful 1953 Chevrolet was purchased with the intention of showing it this up-coming car show season, but it doesn't appear myself or my family will be showing this one as much as we would like.
