97 Jeep Wrangler Rock Crawler. If you are looking for the ultimate rock crawler or offroad Jeep, check out this rig. It has worked exceptionally well on many Extreme Trails including Moab. This Jeep does all the work! It has also been incredibly inexpensive to own. Due to thoughtful design and no expense being held back during its build, this Jeep is STRONG - has made it off every trail under its own power. This is a purpose built Rock Crawler. I am not selling it as a street legal vehicle. It comes with a trailer that has been modified to haul it at no extra costs. Engine is a 2003 6.0L Vortec (GM) EFI. Approximately 380 hp. Has less than 25K miles on it. Transmission is a 2003 4L65E (GM) Automatic with overdrive. Has less than 25K miles on it. Transfer Case is Atlas 4 speed. Gears options are 1:1, 2.0:1, 2.72:1 and 5.44:1 Front Axle: Dana 60(97 Ford F-350)/Detroit Locker/4.88:1 Gears/Spidertrax 300m inner and outer 35 spline axles/Stak locked hubs. Includes High Steer modifications with PSC Hydraulic steering assist. Stock F-350 Disc Brakes. Rear Axle: Dana 60(97 Ford E-350)/Detroit Locker/4.88:1 Gears/Yukon chromoly full floating axles. Disc Brakes conversion. Suspension: Rock Krawler's XFactor with stretch. Three link with track bar on front. Triangulated 4 link on rear. Fox coilover shocks front and back. Hub to hub measures approximately 103". Side to side, outside tire measures approximately 89" Tires and Wheels: 42" Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Kevlar. Wheels are Trail Ready Bead Locks with Powertank's Monster Valves. Has Warn 8,000 lb winch and Warn's front w/grill guard and rear bumpers. Bumpers have been modified. Interior is stock. Stock roll bar with Rock Hard supports. Exterior has modified Genright front fenders and rear section has been cut to clear rear tires. Has custom built 11 gallon gas tank in original location. Filler has been relocated. Has 4 KC Lights. There is some damage to driver's side windshield frame, upper rear driver's side section of roll bar pad and driver's side rear corner. Per my preferences, I did not complete any of the following items: 1. The Gas Gauge does not operate since a sending unit was not installed in new gas tank. 2. The Tachometer has not been hooked up. 3. The air conditioner has not been hooked up. The air compressor is attached to the engine. 4. The reverse lights have not been hooked up. I believe all of these can be installed or connected if one chooses to do so. General information. Although I have the Jeep titled with a current plate, have a current Texas inspection sticker on it and I do drive it on public streets, I am not selling this as a street legal Jeep. There are two computers on this Jeep. The OEM computer is operating gauges only. It also has a GM computer operating the engine and transmission. (The engine and transmission wiring harness along with the GM computer programing was done by Howell.) Therefore there is a lot of confusion in trying to obtain an inspection sticker due to it having two OBD II ports. In addition, this Jeep is setup to rock crawl. It operates extremely well off road. As a result of locked axles, extremely soft suspension and a lot more horsepower, this Jeep does not handle well at speed on paved roads. 1987 Chevrolet Blazer Rock Crawler.350HO fuel injected crate engine from GM. Lightly rebuilt and was bored .030 over. New Cam and lifters installed 8-12-13. It has throttle body fuel injection with a TB from a 454 for extra fuel and air. The truck was put on a dyno and put through its paces and custom computer chip burned for the new motor based upon this work.Turbo 400 1 ton transmissionOff Road Design Doubler transfer case (NP203 range box combined with a NP205) with twin stick shifters. 4:1 crawl ratio just from the transfer case. Also has the front shift fork modified so it is possible to put the rear axle in neutral and drive in front wheel drive. Triple stick shifters were made by Off Road Design.Both driveshafts were made by High Angle driveline. They are center slip shafts with 1350 (1 ton) CV joints and 1410 joints at the axle yolksFront axle is a Dana 60 1 ton military axle with 4.56 gears and crossover steering. The drag link and tie rod units are very thick “rock rods” sleeved tubed units made by Rockstomper. Has Hydraulic Assist Steer. Welded But will let full spool go with it.Rear axle is a military issue 14 bolt full floating unit that was brand new in a crate when bought . It has 4.56 gears and a welded carrier. It also has been upgraded to run disc brakes. Has a diff cover and pinion support guard on it.Front and rear bumpers were both hand made by me and have solid shackle points on them. The front has a Warn 9.5ti winch on it with 3/8" synthetic winch rope. There are controls for the winch inside the cab.It is setup with a dual batteries and currently has two new (1 red 1 yellow) optima batteries. There is an electronic battery isolator between them. So you can run the truck off of one battery, and then flip a switch to combine the two batteries for use and charging. All battery cables are custom made out of 0 or 1 gauge welding cable. There also is a 150 amp alternator powering everything.There are 6 rock lights under the bottom of the truck for 4 wheeling at night along with two rear facing lights. There are tabs and wiring for lights on the front bumper.There also is an onboard air setup built into the truck. There are two air tanks onboard. A compressor needs installed. I was going to use and electric one. Also added is an air horn that came off of a piece of Caterpillar equipment as well.The rear lift is an Offroad design shackle flip with factory springs and a custom add a leaf to relocated the axle a slight bit to accommodate for the shackle flip moving the axle slightly.The front springs are 6" BDS Suspension springs. These have a no questions asked lifetime warranty on them.The shocks are rancho 9012s. The front mounts are custom mounted F250 shock towers to enable additional travel of these longer shocks. The rear is a custom made crossmember with custom mounts on the axle.There is a heavy duty Tuffy security console between the seats that is very sturdy and locks securly. There also is a CB radio, Pioneer removable face head unit, Autometer tach and transmission temp installed in the cab along with custom switches for the lights, batteries, air and winchAll bump stops, tie rod dust boots, spring bushings, and motor mounts are polyurethane units15x42x16 Iroks on 16x10 Black Steelies. Removable doors ~ drivers seen in pics removed. I have it.Bought this rig last year and now going another direction. It is a very capable and reliable wheeler.
