1972 Pontiac Firebird 1972 Pontiac Firebird. 1972 Pontiac Firebird Esprit in mint condition.. Completely redone this car from the ground up. Brand new 400 cubic inch engine new 2004R transmission with overdrive new Posi Traction rearend new paint from bare metal all new interior. I have photos of the paint progress to show the restoration.. The car is beautiful and runs very strong. Color is 2010 Dodge Inferno Red Metallic and really shines nice in the sun. The contrast with the white vinyl top is really nice. I have some of the engine details from the original build sheet. Installed stainless Doug\'s Headers to give it a nice rumble.. The original model was an Esprit so it has the nicer interior. I put a formula hood on it to match the formula look that I liked better. I have the stock hood as well if someone wanted it with the car.. The stereo is a custom install by Sounds on Wheels and has a subwoofer in the trunk with the amplifier set into the floor and the Pontiac arrow covering the amp. Looks really nice and has hidden storage for detailing supplies. Trunk has been Dynamatted for sound improvement.. I have all receipts for the motor and a lot of service records and receipts in a manual I keep. Also have a copy of the original sales sheet for the car.. This is a must see American Classic and everything works well-Serious inquiries only. Currently located in Spokane WA.-Qualified Buyers may be eligible for Financing Nationwide Shipping and Extended Warranties.

This 1973 Pontiac Firebird Formula is the kind of car that earns tremendous respect on the street. With red paint that screams performance and a potent 455 cubic inch V8 under the hood, it more than delivers on the promises made by its brutal look. The Formula was a different animal from the Trans Am, and today its more subtle look is appreciated by hobbyists for its restraint. Most notably, the twin-snorkel hood gives it a definite horsepower vibe and without the excessive graphics and other add-ons of the Trans Am, the Formula looks pretty darned slick. Originally painted Ascot Silver, when this one was restored it got a coat of Buccaneer Red, the archetypal Pontiac performance color of the early \'70s. Lots of time went into the sheetmetal and you can look pretty carefully but you probably won\'t find any traces of the original paint in any of the visible areas, suggesting that this was a very thorough job. It shows a few signs of use since it was completed, most notably up front where the low-hanging chin spoiler has a few bruises, but overall it has an intimidating look that totally works. Blacked-out grilles, the fender extensions ahead of the wheel wells, and, of course, a ducktail spoiler mean that it\'s undeniably Pontiac from any angle. The sucker just looks mean. Classic black inside continues the no-nonsense performance attitude, with nicely reupholstered bucket seats, fresh carpets, and Pontiac design cues that stand out. The three-spoke steering wheel has a distinctive European flair and the engine-turned dash panel is a high-performance look that goes back to the earliest days of racing. Great-looking gauges monitor the vitals with big, easy-to-read round dials arrayed ahead of the driver. Aftermarket A/C has been cleverly added, using a combination of the original vents and an auxiliary setup under the dash, just ahead of the 4-speed shifter and center console. They also stuck an AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in there, so sliding behind the wheel for a long road trip is a pleasure. In back, the trunk includes a space-saver spare and jack assembly, and is missing only a reproduction trunk mat, which is inexpensive and easy to find. While this Formula 400 ostensibly should be running a 400, it now packs a 455 cubic inch V8 whose thundering sound and bottomless reserves of torque will erase any desire you have for originality. Upgraded with an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold, the big engine breathes deeply and hurls the Formula around like it weighs 1000 pounds less than it does. Mickey Thompson valve covers have an old-school performance look and it wears correct Pontiac Turquoise paint for a modicum of authenticity. Pontiac\'s combination of performance and luxury was hard to beat, so this car includes niceties like power steering and power disc brakes, and it cruises easily with a muted burble from the custom dual exhaust system that terminates in Trans Am-style quad tips. The floors show off years of clean living and no major issues, and the stance is right, with just a bit of a rake. 15-inch Torque Thrust wheels with spinners are a period-correct look that\'s ideal on this big bruiser and it rolls on 245/60/15 front and 255/60/15 rear BFGoodrich T/A radials. Big horsepower with a look to match, this Formula proves that the muscle car era didn\'t die in 1972 and Pontiac was at the forefront of the war to keep performance alive. Call today! Up for sale in the Houston showroom is one of the most iconic cars in history, the 1981 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am \"Bandit\". The Pontiac Firebird was a car designed by the Pontiac division of General Motors between 1967 and 2002. The Firebird was introduced the same year as the Chevrolet Camaro and coincidentally shared the same chassis. This move by GM coincided with the release of the 1967 Mercury Cougar, which shared its chassis with another iconic car, the Ford Mustang. Firebirds were used in the Trans-Am racing series in the 1960s and 1970s. When the Firebird Trans Am was released, there was a lot of noise over the model\'s inability to compete in the Trans-Am because the smallest available engine was too large for use in SCCA presented series. The name also caused controversy because it was used without permission from the SCCA, who threatened to file suit against GM. GM ended up settling the dispute by paying $5 to the SCCA for every car sold. And also let\'s not forget Smokey and the Bandit was a smash hit at the box office. Bankrolled with an original budget of $5.3 million which was cut to $4.3 million two days before initial production and the film still grossed $126,737,428 in North America making it the 4th highest grossing movie of 1977. The worldwide gross is estimated at over $300 million. In the final year of the Second Generation Firebirds (1981), the Trans Am for sale still used the same engines as it had in the previous model year, with the only change being the addition of a new electronic carburetion system atop the 301 cubic inch Pontiac. 1980 and 1981 saw the biggest engine changes for the Trans Am since 1972. The 301, offered in 1979 as a credit option, was now the engine to have. Backed by the 3 speed automatic transmission and a 10 bolt Pontiac rear end, I guess you could say this car was made to fly. Signed by the Bandit himself, this is a car show magnet. Original BANONE license plate is with the car along with Burt Reynolds signed autography with letter of authenticity. Options on this gorgeous 1981 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am include: A/C, am/fm/cd radio, power door locks, power windows, power brakes, power steering, tilt wheels, t-tops, numbers matching and aluminum alloy wheels on performance radial tires. 1956 Chevrolet Suburban this truck has been basically rebuilt from front to back. The only thing that is original is the body. It sits on a 1972 chevrolet Impala front clip, so it has front disc brakes. The motor is a 350 LS1 out of a low mileage 1998 pontiac firebird. The trans is also from a 98 firebird it is a 4L60E 4 speed automatic with electronic overdrive. This motor was professionally installed using a Painless Wiring engine management with entire truck wiring package, so basically it is totally re-wired and utilizes a computer ECM. It has a vintage air conditioning that works beautiful. It has had too many upgrades to mention. It has custom exhaust, interior and a great paint job. Power steering, brakes, seats, custon stereo and !!!!!!!. I could go on forever, for a front to back list of details, call me. NOW for the asking pricesit down I want $50,000. You are saying wow hes nuts, try to find one of these rust free survivors, (I have not seen another hot rod real suburban. If you know auto restoration, you will appreciate the $$$ that went into this build.I do not need the money or have any hardships pressing me to sell it, but in a moment of weakness I am listing it. I really love this truck, but as things go I saw another vehicle that I would like to have, and if this goes within this month only, I will keep it for who knows how long.Dont be offended, but, I am not interested in any trades, or will not accept any offers. So call if you are sincere. Frank @ 508-364-1132 Ad provided by OldCarOnline.com/cond>
