The 1969 Buick Skylark design was basically carried over from the 1968 model which had been a significant change over the previous model year. New in 1969 for GM was the introduction to a locking steering column with a new, rectangular ignition key that became standard and also the Skylark saw the introduction of an available 3-speed automatic transmission, the TH-350. Skylark Customs were available with the same 350 CID V8 engines available in the basic Skylark and the Skylark 350 and came with an upgraded interior and dash with extra chrome accents. This 1969 Buick Skylark Custom Coupe is powered by its 350 CID V8 engine and is backed by a rebuilt TH350 3-speed automatic transmission.
