This is a beautiful car. A twenty-footer but a classic design. It has rust everywhere an E9 BMW will have but a 12 year old refresh means it still looks presentable. The interior dash, wood, glass and trim are almost perfect but the velour drivers seat is showing some wear. Mechanically it's all fine for a car that's been in storage a number of years. It starts, drives and stops reasonable well and is very pleasant to cruise along in, this being an automatic. Make no mistake, this car needs to be restored. Rust repair is the big job and the work needed has been well documented elsewhere. This car has only done 102,000 KM (63,000 miles). The interior, door panels, pedals, glass, suspension bushings, etc., show little wear. All the exterior trim is present and is in reasonably good condition. Much of the trim is stainless and would respond well to a good polishing. Front and rear bumpers are excellent condition with no dents, rubbers in place and while a polish would help, re-chroming would be a perfect finishing touch. This car is originally from Belgium and is full Euro spec; no side markers, proper H1 headlamps with black-look reflectors on low beams as well as integral euro parking lamps. Other European quirks are rear fog lamp, Becker radio and city horn bell. That last one is a throw back to the 60's. With minor mechanical repairs (and a couple of patches in the floor) this car could be proudly driven without having to make too many excuses. A rolling project could be an option - dealing with all things mechanical, before disassembling and properly fixing the bodywork. A big but definitely worthwhile project.
