2001 BMW 5-series 540i - low miles, clean title, Carfax & all service records! 2001 BMW 540iA 4-Door touring Sedan 4.4L V8 This is a clean 2001 BMW 540i with original 81,350 miles in great mechanical condition with all major services done. I'm the 2nd owner of this 540i with clean CA title in hand & a copy of Carfax report. Registration is paid through March 2016, CA smog check inspection passed on Aug. 3rd. I have records of all maintenance I paid for (serviced at Indy shop) and a complete file of dealer records from the first owner, who took good care of it in Marin County, CA. Comes with these amenities and options, in great working condition: ski package, fog lights, power windows/doors/seats, dual climate control, security alarm, sunroof, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, premium sound, CD player, AM/FM radio, traction and stability control, full size spare tire, spare keys and a tool kit. All electronics work well, as well as AC & heating. It's a reliable and well maintained BMW that hasn't been raced or abused, pulls strong & straight, never had check engine lights on. A lot of important & expensive service was done over the past 10 months, saving you thousands on maintenance. Here's what was replaced (mostly as preventative measure) in 2014, at ~70K miles: alternator, OEM water pump, fan shroud, thermostat (w housing & sensor), four new Gabriel Ultra struts, 8 new spark plugs, OEM fuel filter, valve cover gaskets, coolant flush, lower radiator hose, cabin air filters & K&N air filter. Power steering fluid, brake fluid flush and transmission oil & filter were also replaced. Four new Bridgestone Potenza tires (225/55R16) were put on at ~68K - (with a 45,000 mile warranty from America's Tire Co.). In Jan. 2015, I got front floor mats, windshield wipers & driver's door handle replaced. In July 2015, both rear rotors, brake pads and a sensor were changed. Engine oil & filter was just changed too, as well as air temperature sensor and plastic under-guard below the front bumper. I used Amsoil synthetic Euro 5W-40 oil in the engine and Signature Series ATF in transmission.Previous owner had Sonnen BMW in San Rafael replace the radiator, power steering pump, lower control arm bushings, alternator & drive belts and other expected maintenance - over $21,000 in documented dealer services. This 540i has always been filled up with Premium grade fuel (Shell only), so it averages ~20 mpg on each tank - 27 mpg on hwy and 29-32 mpg @ 55-65 mph. I got windows tinted when I bought it, otherwise everything is original, including the paint, where many scratches accumulated over the last 14 years, mostly on the hood & rear bumper. It hasn't been in an accident, so there was no need to repaint it. I'm including $150+ in extras for this BMW - new radiator, passenger door handle, Mann oil filter & timing cover gasket set. The broken plastic cup holders and a minor oil leak (timing cover gaskets) are the only issues. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like me to email you many more pictures.
