1969 Triumph Spitfire MkIIIConvertible We are selling off all of my husbands Triumphs here in the next few weeks - if this is not the one you want, stay tuned for his 66 Spit, 68 Spit or the 80 Spit. All coming out of the barn in the coming weeks - My loss, your project. The 1980 Spit is already listed under my husbands account 'morefromlovemytriumph'. Up for auction is a 1969 Triumph Spitfire MkIII. He's owned the car since 2000. He purchased the car in the Pittsburgh area and drove it home in its present condition. The car was driven right into the barn and has been there ever since. Will make someone a nice winter project. PA title is clear (odometer may not be accurate). Since I haven't pulled it out of the barn yet, I really can't tell you much about its present condtion. Sitting next to the 66 (green) Spit in the barn - more pictures and details will follow this week hopefully. You are always welcome to make arrangements and come and inspect it for yourself. Car spent sometime overseas in England and was shipped home by a US Air Force officer (see license plate and window sticker). Royal blue painted over original yellow is checkered and dull. Passenger door is locked and I couldn't open it to get anymore pictures. There is no warranty or guarantee implied here. The car is 46 years old and I am not a certified mechanic. Car is sold in the 'as is' condition. I would like the car picked up as soon as possible - My barn is coming down and no longer will have dry storage. Car will have to be paid in full at that time. I am asking for a deposit only to keep people honest. See my other auctions and feedback as morefromlovemytriumph. Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list!

1980 Triumph Spitfire 1500Convertible Up for auction is a running 1980 Triumph Spitfire 1500. I've owned the car for several years now; since 2009. I purchased the car in the Pittsburgh area and drove it consistently for the next several years in good weather. The car has sat the past two years basically not driven but started and 'driveway' driven. This year, my intentions were to have my mechanic inspect the car and make it roadworthy. I purchased most of the necessary parts this spring from The Roadster Factory, but never had a chance to have the car looked at because of my work schedule. The new parts are included in the sale of the car*. Will make someone a nice winter project and be able to drive in the spring. Last fall, I replaced the (new) slave cylinder for the transmission. At the same time, I installed a used radiator to replace the leaking one; and also installed all new hoses, new overflow bottle and coolant. Car runs well and starts easily, can be driven onto transport. PA title is clear, mileage exempt (odometer may not be accurate). New parts include:New, gearbox transmission tunnel and mounting hardware.New, two (2) new oil filtersNew set of front disc brakes including pads and rotor, hardware.New set of rear brake pads, hardware.New (2) rear brake adjustersNew (2) rear wheel brake cylinders and hardware.New emergency brake cable You will need new tires and a battery to make it roadworthy. All lights and gauges work (except for the cd/radio - I forgot to hook it back up when I replaced the slave cylinder). Interior is worn but useable, seats have covers on them. Paint is in poor condition, but can wait. The red was put on top of BRG, top coat has worn off, not holding a shine. Surface rust, but holes or putty that I am aware of. P/O had stickers of the door panels (not appropriate - #53 Herbie) when removed it took some paint on the drivers side. The convertible top will need replaced, functional but not good. Has a hole in the top and a couple of holes at the plastic windows. Like I said, I was planning on driving it this summer with more restorations in the future, but now I need to sell the car. I am selling off all of my Triumphs here in the next few weeks - if this is not the one you want, stay tuned for my 66 Spit, 68 Spit or the 69 Spit. All coming out of the barn in the coming weeks - My loss, your project. There is no warranty or guarantee implied here. The car is 36 years old and I am not a certified mechanic. Car is sold in the 'as is' condition. Before you try to give me a low offer, please understand the new parts are valued alone at about $400.00. *If you don't want the parts, I am acceptable to a lower price. Make your offer, just be reasonable, maybe we can work something out. I would like the car picked up as soon as possible - My barn is coming down and no longer will have dry storage. Car will have to be paid in full at that time. I am asking for a deposit only to keep people honest. See my other auctions and feedback as Lovemytriumph. Check out my other items! I've decided to clear out some of my Triumph cars. These two I had always considered together and I'll explain why - you may have other intentions. Both have clear titles in my name and are registered in Pennsylvania. You will get both titles to transfer out of my name and into yours. Cars can stay where they are until Thanksgiving weekend of this year, but must be paid for prior within one week of this auction (unless you make other arrangements with me). I will not be held responsible while the cars are sitting here 'in storage'. Buyer is also responsible for removal and shipping/hauling the cars. I have more pictures if you need to see more or something specific. Cars are available for viewing before bidding ends. Both cars are not in any condition to be driven home even for a short distance. Actual mileage of either car is unknown - the 99999 was only because Ebay wants a number. The 1975 red Triumph Spitfire was purchased by me back in the mid 90's - I drove it as much as possible up until the summer of 2005. This car made several long trips during that time period - Boston area x 3, Erie, New Jersey shore x 2, and more. I would drive it to work when I could, which in it self is a 100 mile round trip. This car has PA Antique plates, which will go with the car if you wish. The car was purchased in the Williamsport area. Supposedly it was a wedding gift to the young couple I had purchased it from - they were moving to Portland OR and felt they couldn't take the car. The car had been 'restored' by the bride's father - not really restored, more like repaired and repainted. The car was originally white with a tan interior. Engine is a strong runner, it never let me down at any time. In 2005, I stopped driving the car because the hydraulic slave cylinder for the clutch went bad. The car was parked in the garage with intentions of repairing it. That's where things started morph! In the mean time, I had bought several other Spitfires (I recently had as many as 8 different models). I am currently driving a 1980 Spitfire. I've started the car on several occasions but it is in need of a rebuild or restoration. The car is still pretty much the same as when I purchased it other than parts that wear or were needed to pass inspection. Anything major otherwise was done by the previous owner, so what you see in the pictures is what you get. The paint is bad but no holes or soft spots. I don't know if the PO put any putty anywhere, none to my knowledge. The top was new in 2001 and I think the brake master cylinder was replaced then too. The 1978 orange Spitfire with the hard top was one of many others I had purchased as I said. I bought the car pretty much as it is today. It was one of three I purchased at the same time from a local individual. The hardtop was purchased on Ebay from a local seller in western PA. My plan was to strip this car down to the frame and do a restoration of the 1975 Spit. That way, my plan was, that I could have a hardtop version and a convertible. Now you understand, right?! Anyway, I recently decided these a projects I will never get to and it is better to let them go to someone else. The auction is for everything you see in the pictures - I will even throw in an extra trunk lid that I have that would work with the orange car. Both cars need work, but could produce at least one really nice Spitfire. You could use the orange one to build a SCCA racer while driving the other one! Please ask questions - this is getting pretty long and wordy but I'm sure there are things you would like to know. Make me an offer - you never know what I would be willing to accept.
