Our Subaru Baja is a 2003 with 176K miles. It runs great and it is 100% reliable. It has been well maintained and gets good gas mileage. It has good Michelin tires. Brakes are good. There are some significant scratches on the exterior but no wrecks. There is a small dent about the size of a silver dollar on the top each fender near the hood. It has a bed like a truck and there is also a pass through door to the bed so you can put down the rear seat so long lumber etc. can be hauled if needed. I have a bed extender for it too. It has a sunroof. It has power windows and locks and a remote for locks and alarm. The windows are tinted. It is automatic and all wheel drive. The engine is strong and the transition performs as it should. The AC is cold. It was serviced last year--always has worked well, it was just periodic maintanence that many people overlook. About a year ago I did the following maintenance--replaced spark plugs and wires, all filters including fuel filter and transmission filter, flushed transmission and front differential, flushed coolant and replaced radiator and thermostat, replaced CV joints and axle shafts, replaced all ball joints and tie rod ends, replaced O2 sensor (upstream), and replaced serpentine belt. I was a mechanic in the military and take preventative maintenance seriously. The previous owner had had the timing belt and water pump replaced. They also had Subaru rebuild the top end as a result of the head gasket issue recall. It could probably use an alignment because it slightly pulls to the right on the highway. It has a small oil leak, but does not leave any spots in our garage. It drips onto the exhaust shield so I think it just burns away instead of dripping. I usually add about half a quart between oil changes. It has been my wife's daily driver for the last couple years but she now has a new suv. We drove the Baja from San Antonio to Kansas two weeks ago and I would not hesitate to go across the country in it. In fact, I am willing to deliver the Baja anywhere within a 600 mile radius from San Antonio,TX for an additional fee of 90 cents per mile. I will, however, need to be dropped off at the nearest bus station. I can only make this delivery on a weekend. Just wanted to offer this option--I've done this before with motorcycles. I have for sale an incredible 1-owner 2003 Subaru Baja Sport with the fun to drive and economical 5-speed manual transmission. It has only 71,xxx original miles on it and it's in very excellent original condition (no modifications) and has been Subaru Dealer maintained with an open checkbook since Day 1. It was purchased brand new at the Subaru Dealer in San Diego and has never lived out of Southern California (no rust). It has always been kept safely tucked away in a garage and the beautiful silver stone metallic paint still has a wonderful shine to it. The interior looks terrific and the Subaru Baja floor mats are in excellent condition. It has the very dependable 2.5L Subaru horizontally opposed "Boxer" engine which produces excellent AWD acceleration while still getting very good gas mileage. The clutch works great with smooth effortless shifts and the brakes feel very solid with no shuddering, squeaking or pulling. I have all of the service receipts since it was new including the following:- 23 Oil Changes (every 3,000 miles) - 15K, 30K and 60K Services Done at Subaru Dealer - 60K Service including new timing belt and rear brakes done at 58,349 miles - Rear shocks and valve cover gasket replaced at 65,100 miles - Front brakes replaced and a new Subaru battery installed at 67,533I also have the original Subaru window sticker and all of the Subaru Baja manuals, Subaru OEM bike rack instructions, etc. This 2003 Baja comes with keyless remote control entry, power sunroof, power windows, power brakes, power steering and power door locks, full time all wheel drive, air conditioning, leather trimmed interior, Subaru OEM mud flaps and an AM/FM Stereo with CD player. It comes with the very handy Subaru OEM bed extender and a very cool Subaru OEM 2-position bike rack. If you've been looking for one of these hard to find Subaru Baja's with really low miles that isn't all rusted out from years of pulling snow duty, then, this may be your best chance ever to take one home. This is my personal Baja that I have owned for almost two years. I purchased it from the original owner with 240000 miles on her. Despite the high milage, this Baja runs great. There are no issues and everything works as it should. Stock Subaru radio has been replaced with a Blaupunkt receiver with Bluetooth and iPhone controls. Tires and brakes are good, no check engine light, NYS safety and emissions tests were all passed two years in a row, transmission shifts smoothly, engine runs smooth, uses about 1 quart of oil every 1500 to 2000 miles. Oil changed every 3000 miles. Also changed rear drive shaft about 4 months ago. Baja is very versatile and allowed me to renovate a cottage in RI, as I needed her for trips to the lumber yard and Ikea. My wife wants a Transit Connect for her business, so despite my misgivings, the Baja needs to be sold. I have taken this car on many, many road trips and she has never let me down.
