I have over 100 high resolution DSLR photos and a clean Carfax available via email upon request. Exterior: As you can see from the photos, this is a beautiful car. Basalt Black is a fantastic color, black with gold metallic flakes that make the color shift depending on lighting. It is an extra cost option and much more attractive than the standard black. Freshly detailed with a professional clay bar, polish, and wax, the paint is very deep with a great shine. No dents, no signs of paintwork like mask lines, mismatches, and flaws. Very few rock chips, and those that are present are very slight. The soft top shows only minor wear, top operation is excellent and it still seals very well. No haze on the headlights as you will frequently see on newer Porsches. The Tech Art wheels are a nice cosmetic upgrade over the usual boring Porsche wheels and in excellent condition, with their gray finish providing a nice contrast to the black exterior. Overall it is a fantastic looking Boxster S. Interior: Similarly very nice. The full leather interior takes the 987 to an entirely different level, having leather on every surface feels rich and luxurious. Natural Brown is a very rich and warm color that isn’t fully captured in pictures, much more attractive than the more common Sand Beige tan interior. The sport seats are a rare and fantastic option, far more comfortable than the standard seats and much more supportive. The leather interior and seats are nearly perfect, no sun damage, stains, or tears. Carpet is perfect, and protected by a pair of brand new Porsche mats in matching Natural Brown. This is one of the most heavily loaded 987s that I have seen with a sticker price of almost $70,000 new, features include navigation, Bose audio, sport seats, heated seats, Sport Chrono, power mirrors, self-dimming mirrors, and rain sensing wipers. Everything works as it should. With the top down this Boxster is equipped with the windstop that effectively reduces wind noise. Overall very nice inside, you’ll be hard pressed to find another this well optioned. Mechanical: As you would expect, a car this clean has been very well taken care of. Absolutely zero mechanical issues, it is a fantastic driving car. The steering is sharp and pure, with no vibration or pulling at highway speeds. Brakes are strong with a nice firm pedal, no vibration or pulsing when stopping. The PASM adaptive suspension is fantastic, giving you a smooth ride on rough roads and a nice firm sports car ride when the road gets twisty. No suspension issues like clunks or vibration, and a visual inspection of the bushings found no torn boots or leaking grease. The transmission shifts well with no grinding or popping out of gear, I believe it has a short shifter installed but I am unsure of make. Clutch is smooth and light, engaging early in the pedal release as it should. Tires are greater than 50% tread, approximately 7/32 front and 6/32 rear. Sport mode engages as it should and definitely enhances the driving experience, greatly improving the responsiveness and capability of the car. Finally the engine is strong and responsive, as you would expect from a Porsche. No warning lights, smoke, or leaks anywhere. The Fabspeed muffler is how they should sound from the factory, mellow around town with a fantastic howl under heavy acceleration. Wiper blades are newer Bosch Icon. Maintenance reports from Carfax show a strong maintenance history of Porsche dealership service. Recent service includes a tire balance, full major service including oil and filter, air filter, pollen filter, spark plugs, and serpentine belt, new front trunk struts, and a new cupholder. Simply put, this is a fantastic driving car that needs nothing and is fully up to date on service. Flaws: While I would rate this Boxster as being in excellent condition, no used car is perfect. Because most of my cars sell to out of state buyers, full disclosure is the only way that I do business. My expectation is that the car will be better than described when you arrive. I am an anal-retentive engineer, here are the flaws as I see them. Exterior: there are a few slight rock chips up front on the bumper cover and hood front half, all are small chips and the total number is far less than would be expected for the year, small scuff low on the side of the left front bumper, very light scratches on the rear spoiler that are almost invisible, several small chips on the left rear wheel. Interior: several light chips on the silver door handles, several light chips on the adjacent door handle trim, several light chips on the speaker covers adjacent to the door pull handle, several light chips on the power mirror trim, very light wear on the steering wheel and emergency brake leather, climate control rocker switches have been refinished and don’t have the indicator stickers. Overall the issues are very minor and significantly less than “average” for the year and mileage, it is a very nice car. Summary: Just in case you skipped to the end, this is a really exceptional car. Cosmetics are very nice, it has a number of rare and desirable options, mechanically it is fully up to date on maintenance, and it drives fantastic. A 987 Boxster S doesn’t get much better. Exterior: Overall this is a striking 996TT. Polar Silver has a hint of blue to the color, and is much more attractive than the more common Arctic Silver. The paint is overall in excellent condition, recently clay barred, polished, and waxed. It has an excellent deep shine and is almost entirely swirl free. The front end is almost entirely free of rock chips, and the body is exceptionally straight without any door dings or dents. The unattractive standard orange side marker lights have been replaced with European smoked side markers (originals included) for an improved look. The wheels have been professionally refinished in Seal Gray, which makes for a great contrast. The factory front license plate holes are filled with Bumper Plugs for a smooth look. The overall package is quite striking, and gets a lot of compliments. Interior: Exceptionally clean and well taken care of inside, obviously well-loved. The carpets are very clean and free of stains, tears, burns, or damage. No odor or signs of smoking or pets. The front seats are in great condition with only light wear, still soft and supple, no tears, stains, or damage. Like most 911s, the back seats are like new. All of the dash and side panels are in great condition without any tears or major scratches or marks. Every feature works as it should: climate control, OBC, CDR23 radio, power mirrors, power windows, self-dimming rear view mirror, power locks, keyless entry, rear wiper, cruise control, vanity mirrors, cigarette lighter, and power seats. Mechanical: This is a 996TT for someone that wants to enjoy driving it. Exceptional mechanical condition, it’s cliché but I would drive it anywhere. The engine is strong, boosting to 1.0 bar per the OBC with effortless levels of acceleration. Exactly what you would expect out of 415 HP and AWD. No leaks or smoking, no caution lights, no issues. The suspension is tight with a great ride/handling balance, no clunks or vibrations. Steering is tight without pulling or vibration. Brakes are powerful with a solid pedal, new pads and rotors up front, over 50% pads in the rear, and no vibration or grinding on braking. The shifter and transmission are positive and smooth, no popping out of gear or grinding. Clutch is strong without any slipping, nice and light with a low release point. There is no slack or clunking associated with the all-wheel drive system, it is transparent. Tires are N3 rated Michelin Pilot Sport with 9/32 front and 7/32 rear tread remaining (new is 10/32). The 60k service was just performed, which includes air filter, pollen filter, oil and filter change, fuel filter, serpentine belt, brake bleed, and spark plugs. In addition the front brake pads and rotors are new, wiper blades are new Bosch Icon front and rear, wheels were refinished, and the driver’s side seatbelt buckle was replaced. At this point it is a turn-key car that is up to date on book maintenance and needs nothing, no issues. Flaws: I firmly believe in full disclosure when selling cars. I am an enthusiast and have bought a number of cars online, I model my selling on my own experiences. I am also incredibly particular about cars, most of the noted flaws are not immediately obvious. On the outside there is a scrape on the front corner of the splitter, and it is indented near the center. This part takes a lot of abuse on the 996TT, and is easily replaced for a few hundred dollars. Two very small chips in the right front fender (approximately pen head size), a tiny ¼ inch vertical crack in the right rear taillight (very common), and a shallow 8 inch scratch on the right rear bumper that has been touched up. The car was in an accident 6/26/06 per the Carfax, and was partially repainted. The overall appearance is very nice, with no visible flaws, mismatch, or signs of paint contamination. Without thorough inspection and knowing what to look for, you would never know it has been painted in any way. I have a True Frame report completed by a 3rd party certifying that the repairs were cosmetic only, including frame measurements. Inside is very nice, with very light leather wear, two light scratches on the left side of the console that are hidden by the seat, light scratches on the ash tray insert, and light wear on the driver’s side door panel. The front floor mats show moderate wear, and there are no rear floor mats. Overall this is a fantastic car that I would rate as a very nice driver. Fitting because these are amazing cars to drive, it’s a pity that some are polished more often than driven. It is also rare, the sunroof delete is nearly impossible to find in USA market 996TTs. Like all Cayennes it has full time all wheel drive, a variety of terrain settings, and the best handling an SUV can offer.In the following paragraphs I will describe this Cayenne GTS in excruciating detail, including flaws. The front and rear seats are alcantara trimmed sport seats that are incredibly comfortable, but also very supportive. Front seats are power, heated, and have three position memory that syncs with the key. The headliner, pillars, and door inserts are also alcantara. What isn't trimmed in alcantara is covered in leather, as the GTS features a standard full leather interior. Interior trim is matte finished aluminum. The steering wheel is a three spoke sport wheel with a nice thick leather grip and controls for the Tiptronic transmission and radio/phone. Entertainment is PCM 3.0 with touchscreen control, Bose speakers, navigation, satellite radio with active subscription, and inputs for aux, iPod, and USB. Everything is power and works correctly -- seats, steering wheel tilt/telescope, mirrors, moonroof, mirror adjust, mirror power fold, keyless entry, rear hatch, rain sensing wipers, and homelink. The interior is very clean, with no stains, tears, or damage in the seats, carpet, or headliner. Floor mats are brand new Weather Tech floor liners that do a great job of protecting the carpets. The second row bench is split and folds flat, making for a cavernous cargo area. The rear seat has A/C vents between the front seats and on the door pillars to keep passengers cool. The spare tire and tool kit are all intact and present, as are the owner's manuals. Overall the interior is luxurious and sporty, definitely befitting a Porsche. Exterior: As you can see from the photos, this is a striking SUV. The GTS exclusive 21" wheels and Turbo body give it an aggressive stance that sets it apart from more pedestrian Cayennes. Paint is excellent with a fantastic shine, recently polished with Pinnacle polish and waxed with Zaino. Zero dents, dings, or other damage. Very few rock chips on front, far less than would be expected of a used car. The wheels were just professionally refinished in Seal Gray (Porsche color), which set them off nicely against the Crystal Silver exterior. Power folding mirrors make parking in tight spots easy, and the power rear hatch makes loading the large cargo area a breeze. 2" receiver hitch and trailer light connection let you take full advantage of the 7700 lb tow rating. Overall this is a great looking SUV.Mechanical: The driving experience is what makes the Cayenne GTS really special. Despite being an all wheel drive SUV with fantastic snow and off-road capability, the GTS handles like a very good sports sedan on the road. With 405 HP you are never at a loss for power, and with the exhaust in sport mode it makes fantastic noises. Cornering is flat and unflappable, the brakes are massive with typical Porsche excellent brake feel, and the steering is well weighted and communicates well for an SUV. The transmission shifts quickly with Tiptronic manual control, holds gears aggressively in sport mode, and shifts like a luxury car in regular drive. Overall mechanical condition is excellent. The engine runs great without hesitation or warning lights, the transmission shifts smoothly, the steering is tight without vibration, the suspension adjusts height easily, the brakes are strong and smooth, and every accessory works. Simply put, it drives exactly like it should. Tires are brand new all-season Pirelli Scorpion Zero with a fresh alignment. Do not underestimate the cost of tires on a GTS, I invested approximately $2k. Also be wary of the tire type, many wear summer tires that make them useless for winter driving. The full 80k service was completed including the air filters, pollen filter, spark plugs, wiper blades front and rear, brake fluid flush, MAF(s) clean, and oil change. This service is over $2k at most dealerships. In addition I had the wheels professionally refinished, installed Weather Tech floor liners, and replaced the HVAC fan that had began to make noise. I've used this GTS as a family car and taken it on several trips, I can say with confidence that it needs nothing.Flaws: While this Cayenne is very very nice, as with any used car it is not perfect. Unlike most I believe in full and honest disclosure, I expect my cars to be exactly as described. I have provided cars to enthusiasts around the country and never had a disappointed buyer. Flaws are as follows: a few small light scratches on the rear upper door panels, one small indentation on the left rear upper door panel (see picture), two small indentations on the right rear headrest, small dent on the right rear aluminum interior door trim. One windshield chip on the upper left side. Under close examination the front end and rear bumper show signs of paintwork, there is no sign of any structural accident repair. No signs of any paintwork, and the Carfax is clean. A clear bra covers the front bumper, forward half of the hood, leading edges of the front fenders, rear fender flares, and the forward facing portions of the mirrors, so the car is nearly free of rock chips. Paint is simply fantastic, after a polish with Pinnacle XMT and a Zaino wax it is deep, glossy, and nearly flawless. No dents, dings, scratches, etc. It is a fantastic looking car. Interior: Similarly fantastic to the exterior, the black interior is nearly flawless. The driver’s seat shows almost no wear, while the passenger seat looks new. No stains, scratches, or otherwise flaws in the leather, carpet, or plastic. Floor mats are excellent with only slight heel wear on the driver’s side. Even the soft touch finish is nearly perfect, there are only a few very light marks near the driver’s side door handle and by the shifter. Shift knob and e-brake handle are nearly perfect. The climate control and radio knobs have been professionally refinished by “Sticky No More”, taking care of a common 987 wear item. Well equipped with power windows, locks, power heated memory seats, power heated mirrors, Homelink, automatic climate control, rain sensing wipers, Sport Chrono lap timer, and Bose audio. Every power feature works exactly as it should. I’ve owned multiple 987/997 generation Porsches, this is as nice as they come. Mechanical: I have completed the 60k service on this car, it will essentially need nothing for the next 20k. Within the last month it has received a synthetic oil and filter change, coolant flush, new serpentine belt, spark plugs, air filter, pollen filter, brake fluid flush/bleed, and new wiper blades. In addition I have replaced one ignition coil that had a superficial crack, found while changing the spark plugs. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport A/S rear and Bridgestone Potenza RE760AS front, both have greater than 50% tread and recent date codes. Mechanical condition is excellent, at this point the car needs nothing. The engine runs smoothly and strong with no leaks, warning lights, or smoke. Transmission shifts smooth up and down through the gears, no grinding or noise. Suspension is tight without any vibration or noise, the PASM changes modes and makes a noticeable difference in the ride and handling. Steering is tight, no vibration or pulling. Brakes are strong with a nice stiff pedal, no vibration or pulling on braking. Sport mode engages and makes the throttle more responsive, increases the steering effort, and puts the PASM dampers in sport mode. I drove this car over 500 miles on a road trip and it was flawless, I would drive it anywhere without concern. Flaws: While this Cayman is very very nice, as with any used car it is not perfect. Unlike most I believe in full and honest disclosure, I expect my cars to be exactly as described. I have provided cars to enthusiasts around the country and never had a disappointed buyer. Flaws are as follows: one small rock chip on the RH intake vent, a few light scratches on the right front wheel. A few very light marks in the soft touch finish by the shift boot and near the driver’s door handle. A few light rock chips on the few front end parts not protected by the clear bra, primarily low on the front bumper. So in summary this Cayman S is nearly flawless inside and out, has very desirable options, is fully up to date on maintenance, and needs nothing but a new home. Summary: 2006 Porsche Cayman S, 70160 miles, 3.4L flat-six, 6-speed manual, Seal Gray over Black, prior Porsche Certified Pre-Owned, exceptional maintenance history and thousands in tasteful upgrades, super clean.In the following paragraphs I will do my best to fully describe this car in excruciating detail. The seats are in nearly new condition, no appreciable wear. Carpets have no stains or wear, Porsche branded floor mats are excellent as well. No dash cracks, scratches, stains. There are a few light scratches adjacent to the ash tray on the center console in the soft touch finish, but compared to most used 987s it is very minor. Light wear on the e-brake handle, the shift knob is very good. No wear on the steering wheel. All power features work correctly - power mirrors, auto-dimming mirrors, Homelink, power windows, Bose audio, and power releases for the front and back trunks. A Parrot Bluetooth device has been added to provide hands-free phone and it works well. Front and back trunks are similarly super clean, and the front trunk has the intact tool kit and factory tire repair kit. The radio knobs were just professionally refinished, and the climate control knobs have been previously refinished.Outside: Simply a beautiful car. The Seal Gray paint has a fantastic shine, recently detailed with a clay bar, Pinnacle polish, and Zaino wax products. The paint is deep, glossy, and almost swirl free, exceptional for a used car. The body is as straight as they get, no noticeable dents or dings. Wheels are very clean with zero curbing or deep scratches, only a few light chips in the finish. Even the brake calipers still have a great glossy shine. Exterior enhancements (all dealer installed) include protective screens over the side intakes and front bumper grilles, 15mm FVD wheel spacers front and rear, front and bumper splitters. Wiper blades are new Bosch Icon. Mechanical: As good as the cosmetics are, mechanically it is even better. The previous owner of this car was a VW/Porsche mechanic, who knew the prior owner and sought out the car when it was traded in. This previous previous owner traded an R8 in on this Cayman, and spent thousands in upgrades and over-maintaining it. As an example, in the span of less than 40,000 miles he had the transmission fluid changed three times, a service not recommended by Porsche until 80,000 miles. I have extensive receipts from Park Place Porsche, and all maintenance history is summarized in an Excel file available via email. In regards to maintenance, it needs nothing. Tires are brand new Potenza S04, it was just aligned to Cayman R specs, oil and filter was just changed, the brakes were bled with ATE Super Gold, and the battery is brand new. Thousands were spent in performance upgrades, including a full Fabspeed exhaust with headers, cats, and mufflers, Fabspeed intake elbow, BMC air filter, FVD ECU tune to take advantage of these upgrades, Bilstein PSS9 coilover suspension system, stainless steel brake lines, Porsche performance brake pads, underdrive pulley, and extended oil sump. If you are looking for a track capable car, this one is ready. The suspension is currently set to Cayman R ride height, aligned to Cayman R specs, and set to 5 front and 6 rear (9 is softest), which gives it much sharper handling than a stock Cayman with better ride quality. Everything is mechanically superb - the engine is smooth and powerful with much more top-end punch than a stock car, it really gives the car a raw feel reminiscent of the older air-cooled 911s. Brakes are smooth and strong with no vibration and a firm pedal, steering is sharp with zero vibration and smooth tracking, the transmission shifts well with no grinding or popping out of gear. The modifications on this car genuinely enhance it without any adverse effects thanks to the use of top notch products. It handles better, rides better, and sounds better (no exhaust drone) than a stock Cayman S. It is mechanically superb, just an amazing car to drive. Flaws: I believe in honest and full disclosure, I am exceptionally picky with cars and describe any and all flaws. My goal is for the car to be better than expected when you arrive to take a look in person. Inside there are a few light scratches near the ash tray in the soft touch finish, and there is light sun fade in the carpet under the rear window in the back hatch area. There are a few light scratches on the hood, roof, and hatch area, between 1" and 4". I have tried to capture them in pictures but they are very slight, none are visible from more than 5' away. Very few rock chips on the hood. The front bumper cover was recently replaced after hitting a piece of debris on the highway, I have the record of the repair work done by a top notch shop that specializes in high end cars. The Carfax is still clean, and the paint match is very very good. Due to this repair, the front bumper cover does not have the expected rock chips. Please note that this car was NOT a track car, and therefore does not have any of the associated wear and tear.Summary: If you are looking for a Cayman S to really enjoy and drive, they don't get much better. Excellent cosmetics, superb mechanically, and a history of obsessive care.
