Here is a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with the Rare MSE Mecham Motor Sports Edition package. This is car # 33 in the first year built for these. There is lots of info on the Internet about these rare cars- so I will keep it short- This car was sold brand new at the Mecham Pontiac Dealer in Glendale Arizona and was Equipped from them with the MSE Package brand new. This was a fully optioned Trans Am including the 4 wheel disc brakes and Deluxe interior with all the power options.Mecham adds Special Steering wheel. 160 MPH Speedo, Special rear wing, rear suspension limiters, front crossmember reinforcements, and lots of special badging and decals.- all of the rare Mecham parts are all there on the car except for the original Koni shocks. Basic rundown is this- This car has been off the road since 1998- I still have the 1998 title and the plates on it.It has recently been brought back on line and is now a car that starts, runs, drives, steers and brakes. All the lights work- and it has been looked over and has no major issues mechanically. Suspension, steering and brakes are all operational and working.it has a fresh performance 350 in it with L98 Corvette aluminum Heads, Erson Gear Drive, Edelbrock Intake, Edelbrock Carb, Valve Covers and air cleaner. It has shorty style headers, dual cats and a Flowmaster exhaust. it Runs very good.it has a TH350 Auto trans. This car has no computer or other troublesome components- Runs on a Carb and a standard mechanical fuel pump- so it is cheap and easy to take care of- good basic Hotrod!this car has the 4 wheel disc brakes, big front and rear sway bars and posi traction. The body is all original Panels and has no accidents or other big damage- it is a dry southwest car and has no body rot or rust issues either -nothing more than simple surface rust- This is a very solid car- really great one to restore. It has mostly all original paint- I only see a blend on the quarter and looks like the drivers door was repainted- all of that more than 20 years ago.- otherwise all original paint- The Interior is complete and has new dash pad, MSE steering wheel has been recovered by LeCarra who originally made it, has aftermarket Recaro seats. Interior needs some restoring but it is all there. Power windows are new and work good, AC system is complete but not operational (needs to be converted to R134)- but everything is there and hooked up. It does need some attention with some of the gauges but nothing serious. It has power windows, power rear hatch opener, power locks, Cruise control, Tilt steering, power steering, power brakes, Power Mirrors. It does have a newer stereo that is working too. This car was outfitted with the lower body kit and rare Ronal R9 16 inch wheels back in the 80's or 90's.(I do have the original 15 inch wheels too) -Tires have been replaced with some newer tires and will work for now.Windshield is New and the rest of the glass is in good shape. this car needs to be restored- it needs to be painted, new weatherstripping and the interior finished restoring.- but it does not need any rust repair, no panels need replacing, no major body work needed- so pretty straight forward restoration here. Buy it now for $6900.00 or make me an offer!!!! this car does run but it should be transported to its new home- I have only driven it around the block a few times and not out on the open road as it is not currently registered (off the road since 1998)it will need some things fixed here and there but nothing too big or expensive.feel free to contact me with any questions- if you are serious and want to talk - just let me know. This was my personal project and I have owned it for a few years but I am moving and need to let it go.

I'm selling my 1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am Indy Pace Car. One of only 1555 ever produced. 34K Miles, box A actual miles title. This is a super rare collector car that most people don't even know exists. While prices of the Buick Grand National GNX's are through the roof, little do they know that these TTA's are more rare, faster, and have a better version of the same driveline! Collectors have started to take notice and prices have started to take off. Hagerty value's these at over $30,000! My collector insurance company insured it for $25,000 without me even giving them a number. I know this will be a solid investment but unfortunately I have a business opportunity coming up that I need to thin the herd for, so to speak. If you don't know, here is some info on these cars and below I pasted an article about the specs, etc. This was the fastest production car of 1989! Faster than the Corvette even. Most rare Pontiac to this day. Only 1555 were made. Rated at 250HP and 340TQ to not overshadow the Corvette but when dyno'd, made over 300HP. I believe they ran the quarter in the 12's stock, and 0-60 times under 5 seconds. That was FAST for '89! It still feels pretty fast to me actually.Ok, so the details on this car. I've owned it for a year, and I had it painted last year but it's not the best paint job. It has a 5 year warranty though. Looks great from a couple feet away but if you know paint then you will see some defects. I also had new decals and emblems put on. They pretty much roughed it up and painted it. It was not stripped to metal and de-trimed. Someone with experience could probably do the fine detailing and make it a lot better but I do not have those skills. Good tires(older though), new front pads, oil and filter, AC charge, hood and trunk struts, hatch pull down motor, spark plugs, new fuel pump, new headlight motors, newer battery, K&N air filter serviced, etc. Runs and drives good. Also included is the window sticker, Turbo shield, Pontiac Historical Society packet on the car with build #, press releases, 20th Anniversary keychain, 2 sets of keys, and an original dealer brochure on the car.The car is NOT perfect. It was in a collectors warehouse in Nevada for some years. I have been fixing it up little by little but there are still small items to finish it. Radio/antenna inop, power lock on driver's side needs greasing, cruise control inop, washer spray lever cracked, rear hatch key cylinder inop, couple little oil drips, shocks need replacing, steering wheel has some covering over the top where there was sun damage. Also, when it's really cold outside you need to let it warm up a minute or two before putting it in gear or the idle goes too low. Once you take off it doesn't do it ever again. Any questions, just ask! I have a lot more photos or if you need anything specific I can take them. Thanks for looking! Also, it's recommended to do all your inspections before bidding as once auction ends, you are expected to pay for item. Thank you, ebay fees are not cheap. Might be open to partial trades plus cash(required).*** Shipping is up to the buyer but I will assist the shipper if I can. Obviously, this is a used car and has no warranty with no returns. Ebay did something weird on my ad and its showing you can use Uship to have it shipped. I'm not familiar with what that is, but its up to the buyer to pay for and arrange their own shipping. I will assist however I can. Here is an article on these cars below: Originally conceived by Bill Owen of Pontiac, the 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am project was outsourced to PAS, Inc., an engineering firm led by Jeff Beitzel. Beitzel and his team did most of the TTA development work. The V6 turbo engines were built by PAS at their 40,000 square foot City of Industry, CA plant. From there, they went to GM's plant in Van Nuys, CA to be installed into GTAs on the F-Body assembly line. The cars were then shipped back to PAS for final assembly, testing, and quality control. Incidentally, the GTA chassis were selected at random, thus there is no correlation between VIN number and production sequence number. The actual number of cars to be produced had ranged from 500 to 2,500 until GM finally settled on 1,500. In all, a total of 1,555 Turbo TAs were manufactured. The 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am was offered as a complete package. Each was white with saddle (tan) interior, with T-tops and leather interior the only available options.Externally, the TTA closely resembles a GTA. The primary visual clues are Indy "Winged Tire" emblems on the ground effects panel just aft of the front wheel wells, and dual twin stainless-steel exhaust tips. Closer inspection reveals "Turbo" emblems on the front fenders, "20th Anniversary" emblems on the nose and B-pillar, and a "Turbo" insignia between the taillights. Inside, a turbo boost gauge is incorporated into the tachometer face, and there is a "20th Anniversary" logo on the leather map pocket. Special Indy Pace Car stickers were supplied for the windshield and doors. What makes the 20th Anniversary Turbo TA so special is that it is a complete mechanical package, and not just some tape stripes. Starting with the engine, Pontiac borrowed Buick's 3.8 liter (231cid) V6 turbo powerplant from the fabled 1986-87 Grand National. Some difference exist between the TTA motor and the GN version. Different heads were necessary in order to squeeze the motor between the strut towers. These heads, adapted from the transverse FWD version of the 3.8 liter motor, have the added benefit of improved exhaust flow and combustion chamber design. Subsequently, different pistons were required in order to maintain combustion chamber volume. Other changes to the TTA motor are a cross-drilled crank, larger 12 fin/inch GNX-style intercooler in place of the GN's 10 fin/inch design, specially-designed stainless-steel headers, higher-pressure Bosch 237 fuel pressure regulator, and a recalibrated engine control module.Mark Grable, writing in the March 1989 Motor Trend, noted the Turbo Trans Am's "250 horses...seem much stronger than run-of-the-mill horses." The reason is simple. Although Pontiac officially rated the engine at 250 HP, in reality it developed an honest 301 HP on the GM dyno. The Turbo TA came with the rare 1LE racing brake package, which upgrades the front discs to 12 inch police rotors, Corvette twin piston aluminum calipers and semi-metallic pads. These brakes are virtually fade proof, and were installed to legalize the 1LE package for Firehawk endurance racing. The rear discs were also increased to 12 inches in 1989 and use Corvette single piston calipers. All of the brakes on the car are of a quick change design, and pads can actually be changed in 30 seconds. The only mid-year change made to the Turbo TA during the entire production run was a redesigned turbo inlet tube. The redesigned plastic tube was more durable, and had a clamping rib on either end to keep the hoses attached more securely. Other production changes in 1989 affected the Turbo TA and F-bodies in general. As an example, in March 1989 GM switched from glass to Lexan T-tops in order to save weight. However, the Lexan tops had severe problems with scratching and cracking, and GM had to replace most of them under warranty. During the 1990 production run GM switched back to glass T-tops after having so many problems with the Lexan ones.Indianapolis 500 Pace CarThe 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am had the honor of being selected as the Official Pace Car of the 73rd Indianapolis 500, held on May 28, 1989. The three cars which did pace car duty were the first in the history of the Indianapolis 500 to do so with no performance modifications whatsoever. The only changes to the car were the usual safety equipment required by Indianapolis Motor Speedway (including a five-point seat belt harness), pace car lighting, and television-related equipment.Strobe lights were installed into the front fog lights, front turn signals, and side marker lights. An additional set of strobes was inserted into the space between the spoiler and decklid. The rear windows were changed to ones with no defogger grid, so the rear-facing ABC television camera would have a clear view of the track behind. In addition to three pace cars, an additional 162 "Festival" TTAs were at Indy for VIP and parade duty. All of the cars at Indy, including the three pace cars, had T-tops and cloth interiors.Approximately one hundred festival cars were sold to GM employees It was not a raffle, an interested employee simply had to fill out a form indicating they wanted the car at that price. Price was non-negotiable, and there was no choice of car. These buyers received cars with anywhere from a few hundred to 7,000 miles on them.As for the three pace cars, one now resides in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, another is in the Pontiac collection, and one was presented to race winner Emerson Fittipaldi. Emerson loves his Turbo TA, when asked about it he grinned "It's a FAST car!"

Original owner since 1988, the car had 6,000 miles on it when I bought it. This car has been driven and totally enjoyed and is in excellent shape. All of the suspension has less than 30,000 miles. New brakes/drilled rotors, radiator, hoses, starter, air compressor. Just installed a new high output 345 horse power Series ZZZ CODE, GM crate motor. This car is appreciating every year. You can drive it any where and enjoy it for years as it becomes a real collector car. The pictures show the condition of the car. This car was bought in San Diego, CA and has been store there since 1998 when owner moved it to Lake Havasu City, AZ in August of 2012 to bring it on line.
