This is a high-option car. 1988 was the best year for Fiero GT - it's when GM installed a LOTUS-LIKE SUSPENSION. This car has 41,216k original miles optimized the car and make it 100% roadworthy: ENGINE-DRIVE SYSTEM - New plugs, rotor, cap, wires, lines, wiring, some hoses, tranny service, all grounds renewed. Welded, relieved, and painted exhaust manifolds. Injectors cleaned/patterned. New ported exhaust manifolds and gaskets. Runs like a new car. FUEL SYSTEM - Dropped tank, had it professionally cleaned and lined. New filters, fuel pump, fuel level sender, and true "submersible" $3-per-inch Gates fuel line with all-stainless clamps. SUSPENSION - New shocks (F), struts (R), urethane bushings, sway bar links. Aligned about 200 miles ago. Handles brilliantly, as a mid-engine all-independent suspension should. BRAKES - Flushed, new fluid, new pads, cleaned/adjusted. Everything works perfectly including the parking brake. TIRES/WHEELS - New tires installed and balanced about 200 miles ago. Wheels are original gold lace (fairly rare) in perfect condition. INTERIOR - Leather in Beechwood color, new custom console with cupholders and armrest (must see an original to recognize how nice this is), new center compartment door, OEM leather steering wheel. To make entry/exit .The upholstery is virtually immaculate - from a few feet away it would pass for new. Air conditioner is R12 - EXTERIOR - It's a plastic body, so no dents/etc. WA8774 "Bright Red" (original GM color) multistage paint was applied 200 miles ago, and it looks terrific.. It looks like red chrome. All exterior black trim (including the rear deck vents) was cleaned and painted black with the right stuff. New windshield, new wipers. TRUNK AND ENGINE COMPARTMENTS - Like new. All appropriate rubber seals and gaskets have been replaced. New bushings on the headlight assemblies (they're now silent). AUDIO - Aftermarket Sony CD/etc. with aftermarket speakers and factory subwoofer ELECTRICAL - All connectors were pulled apart, cleaned where appropriate, and CAIG applied. ALSO - New dew wipes (and if you've done that once-every-20-years job, you know what a PITA that is!), cleaned/lubed window tracks and electric door lock assemblies. UNDERNEATH - No rust, dents, gouges, cuts, scrapes. If a new Fiero were driven 200 miles, it would look like this. COMES WITH -remote door unlocker with remotes, recall weatherstrip, other spares. It's a sunroof (seals perfectly), and comes with the wind deflector and sunroof cover, plus the original bag to house the cover when it's in the trunk. And, of course, the buyer will get a lot of literature and reference data, including a digital factory service manual. GENERAL - Everything works and looks terrific. I am pretty sure this is NOT the nicest stock 1988 Fiero on the road today. Fairly sure. There must be one somewhere that's nicer. There must be. But '88 was the best of all Fieros (by far) - a true space-frame automobile with a mid-engine - there's nothing like it in red-white-blue, and this particular example of a 1988 is close to perfect. EVERYTHING ON THIS CAR WORKS AS IT SHOULD. CARFAX - Yes I have it, and it substantiates the mileage and clear title. DEFERRED MAINTENANCE (CONS): Nothing. Here's a car that is becoming increasingly difficult to find in good, original condition. Not many of these cars made it through the 90's and alot of the ones that did have been cut, stretched and made into kit cars, have a ton of miles on them or are heavily modified. There are also not many in this GT body style as they were only made this way from late 86 to 1988 when the model was ultimately discontinued. This is a real unmolested, unrestored 'survivor' that is in really incredible original condition. This GT is also nicely optioned with a removable glass sunroof, power windows and door locks, A/C, cruise and tilt steering as well as a 'Performance Sound' option that optimizes the audio system. CarFax also shows it as a clean one owner car with no accident history or odometer inconsistencies. The body of the car is all intact and in nice shape. There are a few blemishes in the finish that I did not want to 'touch-up' as this car is original and untouched. There are a few scuffs up front where the front license plate bracket was and a couple of small chips in the paint but absolutely nothing noticeable and I did not want to try to hide anything. Rims are clean showing a bit of age as are the tires which have decent tread depth remaining and are Gooodyear Eagle GT's which are hard to find. Glass is excellent, sides and rear have a light tint on them (which can be removed easily depending on your taste). All lights and lenses are in great shape and are all functional including the 'pop-up' front lights. The interior is extra clean and it was a non-smokers car so it smells nice and fresh. Seats, dash and door panels are all immaculate, this car was definitely garage kept, there is no heat damage to the interior. The headliner is beginning to sag a bit and there is a 1" split in the arm rest on the center console, I will be happy to repair these items for you but again, I wanted to leave the car in it's original state so you can see how nice it really is, the few nit-picky things are easy to remedy but I did not want to try and hide anything for those out there that want a purely original 'survivor'. The car runs and drives great, it has good power and does not appear to have any leaks. Exhaust has a nice stock sound, the A/C is nice and cold and there are no warning lights on in the dash. The car drives smooth and is pretty much rattle-free, it's a pleasure to drive and cool to be seen in an older car in such nice shape. Don't miss an opportunity to add a nice Fiero GT to your collection or have fun with it as a daily driver or weekend toy. I sure hope whoever gets it keeps it in this condition, Hagerty has pegged these as a great investment as a future collectible and they are already on the rise now, the few that have sold at Mecum and RM have sold for very good money. I think that my asking price of $7450 is reasonable for the condition and equipment on this car but I know that when purchasing a car we all want to deal a bit so I am open to offers on it and I will do my best to come together with you on price. ORIGINAL MILES! Here's a car that is becoming increasingly difficult to find in good, original condition. Not many of these cars made it through the 90's and alot of the ones that did have been cut, stretched and made into kit cars, have a ton of miles on them or are heavily modified. There are also not many in this GT body style as they were only made this way from late 86 to 1988 when the model was ultimately discontinued. This is a real unmolested, unrestored 'survivor' that is in really incredible original condition. This GT is also nicely optioned with a removable glass sunroof, power windows and door locks, A/C, cruise and tilt steering as well as a 'Performance Sound' option that optimizes the audio system. CarFax also shows it as a clean one owner car with no accident history or odometer inconsistencies. The body of the car is all intact and in nice shape. There are a few blemishes in the finish that I did not want to 'touch-up' as this car is original and untouched. There are a few scuffs up front where the front license plate bracket was and a couple of small chips in the paint but absolutely nothing noticeable and I did not want to try to hide anything. Rims are clean showing a bit of age as are the tires which have decent tread depth remaining and are Gooodyear Eagle GT's which are hard to find. Glass is excellent, sides and rear have a light tint on them (which can be removed easily depending on your taste). All lights and lenses are in great shape and are all functional including the 'pop-up' front lights. The interior is extra clean and it was a non-smokers car so it smells nice and fresh. Seats, dash and door panels are all immaculate, this car was definitely garage kept, there is no heat damage to the interior. The headliner is beginning to sag a bit and there is a 1" split in the arm rest on the center console, I will be happy to repair these items for you but again, I wanted to leave the car in it's original state so you can see how nice it really is, the few nit-picky things are easy to remedy but I did not want to try and hide anything for those out there that want a purely original 'survivor'. The car runs and drives great, it has good power and does not appear to have any leaks. Exhaust has a nice stock sound, the A/C is nice and cold and there are no warning lights on in the dash. The car drives smooth and is pretty much rattle-free, it's a pleasure to drive and cool to be seen in an older car in such nice shape. Don't miss an opportunity to add a nice Fiero GT to your collection or have fun with it as a daily driver or weekend toy. I sure hope whoever gets it keeps it in this condition, Hagerty has pegged these as a great investment as a future collectible and they are already on the rise now, the few that have sold at Mecum and RM have sold for very good money.
