This 1972 Pontiac Luxury Lemans is the car for you if you have a passion for originality. This car is NOT a barn find nor has it been restored. It is an extremely well cared for car which has been garage kept its entire life. It is totally original with the exception of Vintage Air Condition being added. It is in beautiful condition inside and out. Seats, dash carpet, head-liner all in mint condition. I purchased this car from the 84 year old ORIGINAL OWNER September 2008 with 51,832 documented miles on it at that time. It now has 55,031 miles on it. Due to the paint fading somewhat when I purchased it I had it repainted by a professional with over 40 years’ experience. There is NO BONDO and NO RUST anywhere. Painter is still in business and will confirm this. You are welcome to do an in-depth inspection, in fact I encourage it. This beauty runs and drives like new, I know because I had a new one in 1972. Tires have less than 3,000 miles on them. Everything on the car works, even the seat belt buzzer. The only wear you will find is about one inch on the bead on drivers side where you slide in and out. Not split or torn. Extra headlights, tune-up kits, and oil filters from original owner go with car. I am selling due to unexpected health conditions and not being able to enjoy the car as much as I would like. The sales price is $23,500 with very little room for negotiation. If you are a serious buyer, contact me for any other information you may want. Don't waste your time if you are a scammer.

Here is my very first car I had from back in 1979 while I was in High school... It started off as a Lemans convertible and now 30 years later it is a nicely "cloned" out GTO.... It has a rebuilt 400 engine with glass packs , original Muncie 4 speed transmission. New frame. trunk, fuel tank, front disc brakes, quick ratio steering box and suspension put in back in 2012... It is in very good condition with many new parts. Convertible top is only 2 months old, new rally dash installed, new chrome, Runs and drives excellent. It does have 2 very small areas with rust bubbling through the paint above the rocker panels. The pictures speak for themselves.... Any questions feel free to contact me...

Its original, matching-numbers 326 is under the hood and with that stance it'll be a hit at every show it attends. Clean is the right word to describe this sleek red hardtop. Obviously someone invested big in the bodywork, because it's straight enough to be measured with a micrometer. Some of the trim and the original Lemans badges were shaved and GTO badges installed in their place, but there's no harm in that. The hood scoop adds a dose of Pontiac sportiness and the stacked headlights were one of GM's better designs. The bright red paint is a big improvement over the original Platinum Mist and the sleek hardtop wears it well with a correct black vinyl top as specified on the cowl tag. That paint is beautifully buffed to a high shine which probably took hours and hours of laborious wet sanding. They clearly invested in the chrome, too, since it all shines like new (better than new, most likely) and while experts will note those aren't correct GTO grilles, the vertical strips of trim looks awesome. Unique taillights have a Pontiac look about them and it's nice to see that the car hasn't been over-dressed with accessories, wings, or stripes. You won't see many GTOs with bench seat interiors, but that's OK because in this Lemans, it's all new. The seat covers have simple vertical pleats as original and they match the door panels. Pontiac's European influence shows most clearly in the instrument panel, where four separate round pods house all the main gauges behind a simple 3-spoke steering wheel with bright aluminum accents. The original AM radio remains in place and while there aren't a lot of options, it's clear that someone invested a lot of time and money in making it one of the nicest A-bodies around. The ultra-clean trunk shows off its total lack of rust, further evidence that this car has always been someone's special machine, Lemans or not. The original, numbers-matching 326 cubic inch V8 under the hood looks and drives like it has been freshly restored. Turn the key and it's running with a crisp burble from the exhaust, and anyone who glances under the hood will be pleased to see Pontiac Turquoise paint and chrome valve covers, along with a bright Edelbrock air cleaner. Power brakes and steering and a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission make it easy to drive and the dual exhaust with glasspack-style mufflers will keep you entertained on the road. Like the trunk, the floors are clean and with a slightly lowered stance, it sits right. 17-inch Torque Thrusts from American Racing wear appropriately-sized 225/45/17 performance radials that totally fill the wheel wells and add to the performance stance. Forget about pedigrees and names and you'll probably fall in love with this Lemans like we have. Sleek, beautifully finished, and with plenty of muscle, it stands above mere badges to be a wonderful car to drive that will attract a lot of attention at shows. With great regret I am having to sell some of my cars due to an emergency. This is a true southwest barn find, unmolested, original inside and out, new vinyl top, matching numbers everything, absolutely no rust, rebuilt engine and transmission. It has all the GTO options offered back in 1972, so it's LeMans Luxury with the soul of a GTO. Windows roll down, moldings are in place, weatherstrip are in good condition. Solid floor boards, trunk, frame and body. No bondo or patches have been found on it. Some of the options are: Original 400 6.6l Engine numbers matchingOriginal TH400 Hydramatic transmissionOriginal 10 bolt differentialBucket seats and center consoleF41 suspension that includes front and rear sway bar with heavy duty front and rear shocks and coil springsPower disc brakesDual exhaust Power steeringTilt steering wheelBuilt-in rubber foot padChrome surrounds on brake and gas pedalDoor pull strapsCarpeted lower door panelsDefrost window It runs, drives and handles good (the handling is great with the factory suspension package it has) of course it is in daily driver condition, need minimum restoration, the things I had on my list to fix where passenger seat upholstery, head liner, rear bumper balance, windshield, to finish connecting the A/C compressor and of course a new paint job but is a great candidate for a full restoration with minimum investment. I was planning to restore it to the Luxury spec but it could be also a perfect candidate for a GTO due to all the options included. I just hope it finds a good home. Shoot me with an offer and any questions you might have, I have tried to cover all the good and bad about the car but I am sure I am missing more details, please do not hesitate to contact me. Some history... In 1971, the Tempest nameplate was retired and Pontiac promoted the Le Mans nameplate to full-series status to identify all of its intermediate models, which still included the GTO. At the bottom of the line was the Pontiac T-37, previously known as the Tempest, and now expanded to include two- and four-door sedan along with the original hardtop coupe. The GT-37 option was available on both the two-door sedan (pillared coupe) or hardtop coupe. For 1972, all Pontiac intermediates were now Le Mans models and the low-priced T-37 line was replaced by a base Le Mans pillared coupe. The top-line intermediate was the Luxury Le Mans, available in hardtop sedan and coupe models, featuring plusher interiors than regular Le Mans models. The Le Mans Sport was available as a two-door hardtop or convertible featuring Strato bucket seats and plush interior fittings from the Luxury Le Mans. The GTO was changed from a separate series back to an option package on Le Mans and Le Mans Sport coupes. Replacing the previous GT-37 option package for 1972 was the new "Le Mans GT" option, available on Le Mans pillared and hardtop coupes with any V8 ranging from the 350 two-barrel to the 455 HO four-barrel, and also included the same appearance and handling items carried over from the GT-37. The Luxury LeMans Series included a unique front end with a grille that featured twin cavities divided by horizontal blades. They had full-length bodyside moldings, fender skirts, and roof pillar letter badges. Standard equipment included all the items found on the base LeMans plus all-Morrokide bucket seats. Morrokide or cloth and Morrokide upholstery was for the upholstery, there were carpeted lower door panels, custom cushion steering wheel, door assist straps in the front, armrest accents, astray and glove box lamps, and pedal trim plates.

The body shell is, of course, the same, and it still packs a potent, freshly-rebuilt 350 so it'll run with a genuine Goat without breaking a sweat. Looks good, goes fast, costs less, how can you lose? The paint job was done a few years ago, but the gorgeous code 56 Monarch Yellow finish is holding up quite well and combined with the black interior and top, it looks a bit formal on the sleek Lemans bodywork. Fit and finish are quite good with doors that close more easily than just about any other GM car of the period we've experienced, indicative of both quality workmanship and a solid car that hasn't been bent or rusty. The Sport was a lot more GTO than most would believe, including an Endura front bumper and hood scoops for an aggressive look. There's not a lot of trim on the Lemans, but details like the '350' emblems on the rocker panels, the neat little vent behind the front wheels, and the familiar chrome rear bumper all look to be in good shape. Yes, someone has added GTO emblems front and rear, but given the similarities, that can be forgiven. After all, who hasn't dreamed of a GTO ragtop in their garage at some point or another? Dressed to play, the black bucket seat interior is just as functional and inviting as any in a GTO. The seat covers show minimal wear and it's quite possible that things like the door panels and dash pad are originals, with the back seat looking almost like new. This Lemans offers only basic instrumentation, but the three gauge pod layout still looks sporty and the woodgrained appliques look warm and inviting. The cool 3-spoke wheel looks aftermarket but is the optional sport wheel, and the center console houses a shifter that now manages the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission underneath. There is factory air that now uses R134a refrigerant, and the original radio has been dumped in favor of a newer Panasonic AM/FM/CD stereo unit that sounds pretty good in the vintage ragtop. The trunk is correctly finished with spatter paint, what might be the original mat, and a full-sized spare with cover. The engine is the original, numbers-matching Pontiac 350 that seems to ignore the declining horsepower in the early 1970s. It's nicely detailed with corporate turquoise engine enamel, a 4-barrel carburetor, and original air cleaner up top. The great thing is that everything looks factory because it is. It starts quickly and easily, idles with a throaty V8 burble, and moves easily with a solid whack of low-end torque. It's backed by a new TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and a 10-bolt rear end out back, so the powertrain is certainly durable enough to have fun without worries. A recent dual exhaust system with original-style mufflers gives it a mellow soundtrack, and the correct Rallye II wheels won't raise any eyebrows with purists, even with 225/70/14 front and 235/60/14 rear Goodyear radials wrapped around them. If you don't care about pedigrees and investments and just want to get to the business of having fun, this very neatly finished Lemans is your car. 1971 Pontiac Lemans Sport Convertible: The GM A-bodied cars grew and got heavier, too, from 1968. The LeMans and downscale Tempest versions retained the OHC sixes and optional Pontiac V8’s, which were now bored out to a  GM-marketing standard 350 cubic inches. Yes, each division’s 350 cubic inch engine were their own in this era, and no parts interchanged. The top V8 for LeMans was a 320 hp version of Pontiac’s 350, except for station wagons. (Nobody  at Pontiac apparently realized the potential of having a near-GTO performance wagon for families). Pontiac certainly covered all the other bases for performance in this era of straight line speed, though. By 1970, even the Tempest  and Lemans could be had with Pontiac’s 400 cubic inch V8’s, with up to a 345 hp. Speed was king, and Pontiac was often on the top of the hill knocking off all comers. By 1971, a 455 cubic inch with 335 hp was optional, and the GTO was  once again demoted to option status. Emissions equipment and lowered compression ratios started to take a toll on the engine power of all manufacturers, and insurance companies looking at huge losses incurred by youthful drivers in  nearly 400 hp cars started to claw back losses by penalizing those most likely to have accidents with onerous rate increases. By 1972, the huge 455 Pontiac V8 could produce no more than 300 hp and the muscle car era was all but dead.  In fact, Pontiac even dropped their OHC sixes and simply used Chevrolet OHV sixes for those few customers who wanted a six in their LeMans. Any of the LeMans cars from this era are highly collectible, whether or not they are cloned  GTO’s. This beautiful Castilian Bronze Lemans is a great example from the collection of a local Texan who has some of the nicest 60's & 70's convertibles you can find. We've been fortunate to have had several exceptional classics grace our  showroom over the years. With regards to paint, this Pontiac has one of the most spectacular paint jobs we have ever seen! The photos don't even do it justice. Before making it's way to TX, this Lemans Sport spent several years on display in a PA Pontiac dealership's showroom. It arrived in TX with a straight body, zero rust, and strong original paint job. "Strong" just wasn't good enough for the TX owner so he commissioned the repaint in the original colors and photo  documented the paint work. The engine bay, trunk, and interior are all equally as impressive. The second major highlight of this beauty is that it still retains the numbers matching 400 V8 (4bbl) and Automatic Transmission it had from new. This was a rare find in a '71 Lemans Sport and combined with the Endura Front End and  Painted Sport Mirrors give this Lemans some strong GTO characteristics. Additional features and options on this Lemans that haven't already been mentioned include; Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Top, Convertible Boot, Factory AM/FM Radio, Chrome Rear Bumper, Soft Ray Tinted Glass, Center Console Storage, Rubber Floormats, Owners Manual, Protect-O-Plate, Full Spare w/Cover, Tire Tools, 15" Factory Honeycomb Wheels, and thick Firestone Wide Oval Super Sport G70-15 Tires! As you will see in the photos below, this is an exceptional classic Pontiac that can be purchased for only $36,988!  With the ""Buy it Now"" option you can own this beautiful Lemans now and receive FREE SHIPPING * to your driveway. Not only is shipping free but we will handle all of the shipping arrangements and provide  complete cargo insurance while in transit. Why wait a week just to be out bid at the last second by another bidder? We sell 90% of our cars with the low "Buy it Now" option. 1964 Pontiac GTO Tribute: The GTO was the brainchild of Pontiac engineer Russell Gee, an engine specialist; Bill Collins, a chassis engineer; and Pontiac chief engineer John DeLorean. In early 1963, General Motors'  management issued an edict banning divisions from involvement in auto racing. This followed the 1957 voluntary ban on automobile racing that was instituted by the Automobile Manufacturers Association. By the early 1960s, Pontiac's  advertising and marketing approach was heavily based on performance, and racing was an important component of that strategy. With GM's ban on factory-sponsored racing, Pontiac's young, visionary management turned its attention to  emphasizing street performance. The first Pontiac GTO was an option package for the Pontiac Tempest, available with the two-door coupe, hardtop, and convertible body styles. The $295 package included a 389 cu in V8 rated at 325  bhp at 4800 rpm with a single Carter AFB four-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust, chromed valve covers and air cleaner, seven-blade clutch fan, a floor-shifted three-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter, stiffer  springs, larger diameter front sway bar, wider wheels with 7.50 × 14 redline tires, hood scoops, and GTO badges. Optional equipment included a four-speed manual, Super Turbine 300 two-speed automatic transmission, more powerful  "Tri-Power" carburetion (three two-barrel Rochester 2G carburetors) rated at 348 bhp, metallic drum brake linings, limited-slip differential, heavy-duty cooling, ride and handling package, and the usual array of power  and convenience accessories. With every available option, the GTO cost about US$4,500 and weighed around 3,500 lb (1,600 kg). A tachometer was optional, and was placed in the far right dial on the dash. This beautiful GTO Tribute started life as a Lemans and was brought to its current stage in 2006. The most recent owner has over 20 Pontiacs and this vehicle was built and given to his son. The son needed money for a wedding more than a muscle car so now a lucky new owner has the opportunity take over as caretaker for this classic. This Pontiac needs very little and everything works like it should (except AM radio). We wouldn't hesitate to jump in this Pontiac and take a long Sunday drive. It still features its original 326 V8 engine but the original 2bbl intake and manifold has been replaced with a 4bbl set-up. It also features a 3 speed automatic transmission, upgraded front disc brakes, quick-ratio steering, heavy duty front sway bar, and factory A/C that blows cold. Additional features and options on this include; 3.23 Single Track gears, Center Console Storage, Rubber Floormats, Factory AM Radio, Vent Windows, Chrome Bumpers, Chrome Mirrors, Dual Exhaust, 14" Spinner Hubcaps, and Goodyear Whitewall Tires! As you will see in the photos  below, this is an exceptional classic Pontiac that can be purchased for only $24,988!  With the ""Buy it Now"" option you can own this beautiful GTO Tribute now and receive FREE SHIPPING * to your driveway. Not only is shipping free but we will handle all of the shipping arrangements and provide  complete cargo insurance while in transit. Why wait a week just to be out bid at the last second by another bidder? We sell 90% of our cars with the low "Buy it Now" option. This classic Pontiac is not a vehicle you are going to find at your local dealership. Reserve is set just below the "Buy it Now" price. Why wait?
