Here's your chance to own a freshly restored, turn key 1970 Pontiac GTO convertible without the wait!! Less the 500 miles since the restoration!! Still fresh! This car started as a nice original PHS documented car and has under gone an extensive year long restoration by one of the GTO communities authorities in Pontiac restorations. The car could easily score a gold at any of the GTOAA or POCI conventions. It is not a 100 point show car trailer queen but an extremely nice driver that can be driven and still score well at shows. The car had the following options and colors installed as per Pontiac Historic Services factory invoice: Paint code H Palisade Green, Top Code 1 White and Interior code 257 Med. Sandalwood Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission G 70x14 White Walls Polyglas Radio Push Button AM Mirror - Visor Vanity R Mirror - Visor Vanity L Mirror - Remote LH OS Seat Belts - Custom Wheels - Rally II Clock - Electric Console Power Steering Power Disc Brakes Floor Mats Front Soft Ray Windshield Air Conditioning The following colors/options were added during the restoration: The colors were changed to Paint code T Orbit Orange, Top Code 2 Black and interior code 258 Black Hood Mounted Tachometer Custom Sport Wood Steering Wheel "The Judge " Decal package Ram Air Hood Scoops 3:36 Saf-T-Track Differential Rear Anti sway bar Deck Lid Air Foil 14X7 Rally II wheels with 225/70 R 14 Goodyear Eagle ST radials The custom seat belts and front floor mats are no longer with the vehicle. RESTORATION DETAILS The body was spot sand blasted, primed and blocked to perfection. New trunk floors, quarters, deck lid, core support, spoiler and hood were used during the restoration. The endura nose was completely stripped to bare rubber and the cracks were permanently repaired and the nose was fitted to the car before paint. All of the body lines and gaps are above factory standards. The paint is high quality RM base coat/clear coat with 5 coats of base and 4 coats of clear. The paint was wet sanded and buffed with 1000, 1500, 2000, and 2500 for that real slick show shine with minimal orange peel. The Phoenix Graphix Judge striped were applied with precision according to the factory assembly manual specs. The car features all new weatherstripping, reconditioned stainless moldings, new rear bumper, reconditioned original grilles, new windshield, new headlight bezels and door window felts. The trunk is detailed with the correct black/aqua spatter paint, mat and rally II spare with jack. The top is newer and in excellent condition. All of the power top hydraulic lines, motor and switch are in excellent working condition. The interior has been restored with PUI seat covers, door panels, and seat buns. New ACC carpet and underlayment have been installed. The dash was removed during restoration and reconditioned with a new chrome bezel, wood grain and gauges cleaned up with new lens and bulbs. The factory AM radio is not working and the ash tray and floor mats are missing. The underside has been cleaned up and painted a uniform semi gloss black. It is not concourse show quailty but its clean and uniform looking. All of the front end components have been replaced at one point. All the fuel and brake lines are new form inline tube. A new gas tank has also been installed. The exhaust is a mandrel bent 2.5 x pipe Magnaflow system with factory style exhaust tips. The engine compartment is the real crowing jewel in this restoration. Is is 95% correct in colors and finishes. New wire harness, spring ring battery cables, and rebuilt brake booster compliment the correct engine. The engine hads been fully rebuilt with new .40 over pistons, rings, bearings, oil pump, timing chain, cam and lifters, valve job, etc. The block is has a 71 build date but has been stamped the correct YZ code for appearance purposes. It also features the correct cast 12 ram air III heads, Q jet carb and intake, Ram Air exhaust manifolds and Petronix ignition and coil with the correct distributor for stock appearance. A GM "744" early ram air high lift equivalent cam was chosen for over all performance and driveability. The air cleaner is a 67 HO style open element. A factory ram air pan can be easily installed at a later date by the new owner to complete the Judge look under the hood. The hood has been properly cut and trimmed the the upper ram air pan and the correct $200 ram air scoops are installed. The air conditioning components are all present and detailed for show but are not in working order. A new AC wire harness has been installed along with a new heater core. This car has been appraised for $75,000 Unfortunately we need to sell it ASAP to settle an estate.
