Professionally done paint, Rally wheels, black buckets, a 4-speed transmission, dry climate ownership, and matching numbers make this 2-owner T/A one to take home. Sterling Silver is a great color with an even better name. Silver 'Birds are especially cool thanks to their contrasting decals-that bright red and black screaming chicken on the hood just stands out in a sea of red, white, and especially black cars. With its red accents it looks exactly as Pontiac intended: halfway between full 1970's funky and demonically possessed. The bumpers, so frequently twisted and warped by time and heat, are in great shape here. The original tinted glass is clean, as are the taillights and trim. Panel gaps are better than average, and the bodywork was done to a high standard within the last few months. There are new door and trunk seals as well as new window felts, so it seals up well and doesn't rattle down the road like some of its siblings. Standing back and taking the car in as a whole is an easy way to see why Pontiac moved more than 27,000 Trans Ams in 1975, nearly a threefold increase over 1974. Pontiac's pony car was on its stratospheric rise to 1970's royalty. Inside, the correct red vinyl interior is in excellent shape and looks like a million bucks. New seat covers from Legendary are supported by fresh foam padding underneath. Full instrumentation was standard on Trans Ams, and the dials look great set in to the engine-turned instrument panel. The dash pad is in great shape as is the center console, both of which appear to be original. There's a Formula steering wheel in your hands, power windows at your disposal and a new Retrosound AM/FM stereo radio in the dash. And yes, that's a manual transmission, which is always a welcome sight in a car that presumes to be a performance machine. Trans Ams have a comfortable ride and some of the best handling of their era, and a car like this is pleasure to drive. You even get a good-sized trunk, which is in excellent condition and only in need of a new mat. Under the hood is the original, numbers-matching 400 cubic inch V8. It's not just the block that matches, because this one was fully rebuilt to stock specs and runs great. You'll see a very nicely detailed engine bay that looks pretty much the way Pontiac did it in 1975. That means corporate turquoise paint on the block, standard steel valve covers, and that big hood scoop up top. There's a proper Quadra-Jet carb living underneath and things like the belts, plugs, wires, alternator, and battery were recently replaced. The original cowl tag is in place and confirms the car's options, and the finishes are nicely done and correct throughout. The chassis was cleaned and detailed but remains largely original, including the red oxide primer on the floors. A new dual exhaust system sounds suitably burly and there's a new gas tank hanging out back. Restored Pontiac Rally II wheels wearing 225/70/15 BFGoodrich tires are at all four corners, and fill the wheel arches perfectly. This car was in the original owner's family until last year, and spent its entire life in Arizona. If you want a clean mid-70s Trans Am, they really don't come much nicer than this. It's got an honest '50s look that takes no liberties with the original design, but underneath there's a thumping big block V8 plus a handsome and tasteful interior, making it the ideal cruiser that's up for anything you'd like to do. At first glance, nobody will realize how special this car really is. Paint and bodywork are very stock, and while a red convertible is hardly a sleeper, nobody will ever guess the firepower living within. The burgundy paint is called Monte Carlo Raspberry and it looks wonderful, with just the right soft gloss that works so well on older cars like this. Someone invested a lot of time and effort in this finish, which is relatively fresh and shows almost no signs of use. Door gaps are excellent and all the sheetmetal is original, so you know this car has led an easy life. Even more remarkable is the chrome and stainless trim, which is comprised of original and NOS (new-old stock) parts, so the detailing is crisp and you don't see any of the usual pitting and deterioration you get on older trim pieces. The beautiful speed streaks still wrap around the hood and the gorgeous Chief Pontiac hood ornament is crystal clear, beautifully preserved, and actually illuminates. Out back you'll recognize the round taillights, as they're quite popular with hot rodders, and only the modest chrome exhaust pipes give anything away. Getting a glimpse of the interior, you'll know something's up, because it features black leather buckets from a late-model. They work rather well and with a custom center console in the middle, it becomes a first-class cruiser. It's also been tastefully updated with a tilt steering column with a 4-spoke wheel, white-faced gauges, and a console-mounted Lokar shifter. The original dash is completely intact, and while most of the switchgear has been upgraded, it has awesome details like the center-mounted tachometer, which was originally the radio speaker, plus some discreet vents for the A/C system. The rear bench also seems to have been borrowed from that same late-model vehicle, and it's amazing how well it fits here, making this a comfortable 4-seater. Custom door panels continue the Chief Pontiac motif, and the windows are now power-actuated. A snug-fitting black convertible top fits well and looks great, and stows under a matching black boot. The trunk has also been fully upholstered and is big enough for a nice, long road trip. The original flathead six is gone, replaced by a thundering 468 cubic inch V8. Rebuilt less than 100 miles ago, it runs superbly with the kind of effortless torque that makes this luxury ragtop feel comfortable in any conditions. The block was painted Pontiac Turquoise just for effect, and the rest of the workmanship is quite good. You'll note the accessories are tucked in close to the block and all the wiring and plumbing is neatly routed. It's backed by a sturdy TH400 3-speed automatic transmission and a modern front clip that includes power steering and power disc brakes. It's nicely detailed, with clean black paint throughout, plus a custom dual exhaust system that's suitably quiet so it doesn't give the secret away too soon. There's a new gas tank out back and even correct bias-ply wide whites on the original wheels and hubcaps to complete the illusion. This is really a beautifully built car that does everything right. Fast, smooth, competent, and just plain beautiful, it's exactly the right way to build a resto-mod. Cars like this are typically reserved for nice weather play and while time has passed and Pontiac is no longer with us, this car represents the top-of-the-line performance machine from the Excitement Division and it still delivers on every front with a nasty turbocharged engine that really brings the thunder. The bright white paint is in great condition and makes the potent WS6 look clean and unassuming. The WS6 added a bunch of performance upgrades, including the ram air hood, which added two snorkels to the Trans Am's already intake-covered fascia. Folding headlights, round fog lamps up front, ground effects, and a cool 1-piece wing out back were all included, and they give Pontiac's top performer a very aggressive look. The paint on this car is original, which means it's 16 years old, but you can see that this car has been loved its entire life and someone probably spent a lot of Saturday afternoons cleaning, polishing, and detailing the bodywork. It has not been wrecked and it's certainly never been a winter car, so it's clean and straight. Both doors close with a reassuring THUNK and the hood and rear hatch fit quite well. Even the large Firebird nose cone and urethane rear bumper are tight and uncracked, a testament to careful living. And with the black T-tops and tinted glass, the car takes on a fighter plane look that's still very appealing. Pontiac built some of the best driver's compartments in the performance business, with deeply sculpted power bucket seats that really hold you in place. The leather upholstery is in very good condition with only light signs of wear, and everything else looks fresh. The carpets are protected by matching floor mats and the door panels don't even show a mark from the driver's elbow resting on the sill. You'd expect a car with T-tops to have some UV damage, but not this one; the dash, the console, and all the soft parts are still in great shape. The gauges are big, bright, and easy to read, and there are auxiliary gauges along the A-pillar to monitor the boosted engine's vitals. There's also a thumping stereo system with dual 10-inch SDX Audio subwoofers in the trunk that work in conjunction with the factory AM/FM/CD head unit. The factory LS1 engine was a great performer in its day, but today you need more to compete with the 500+ horsepower factory offerings. With that in mind, this car sports a Squire rear-mounted turbocharger that pushes boost through a Weiand aluminum intake manifold. The LS1 shrugs off the boost, and cranks out a serious low-end torque hit that's intoxicating. The setup is a little unconventional but you can't argue with its effectiveness. Power is channeled through a 6-speed manual gearbox and in sixth gear, it just loafs along, munching on boost, always ready to fly. The WS6 suspension is up to the task of all that extra horsepower and it's been fitted with giant 20-inch wheels and 275/35/20 Nitto radials. The highly-desirable WS6 paired with a turbo makes for a serious performance machine. Unlike posers such as the Mustang II and even the Trans Am's stable-mate, the Camaro, the guys at Pontiac were still building legitimate horsepower. These cars are finally coming into their own as legitimate collectors' items, and given the wide variety of pretty blah colors in the 1970s, getting one in glossy black is always the right choice. This one was repainted in 1982 and still looks spectacular with only minor signs of age and use, none of which detract from the overall look. They used correct code 19 Starlight Black paint and fresh blue decals, and it looks as dazzling today as Burt's car did rolling out of the trailer, causing Jerry Reed to exclaim, "Ho ho ho!" when he first laid eyes on it. The finish is lustrous, the reproduction decals are exact in every way, and as car that's always been someplace warm, the original body panels are super straight. Go ahead, look at this car and tell me you can't see it spinning its tires all over those southern highways. There's even a little stub of an antenna on the deck lid, maybe just a reminder of the good old days of CB radios. This one also sports a black vinyl interior, which is 100% original and 100% amazing. With just some gentle use marks on the seat covers and a small tear in the driver's seat, the buckets are just as comfortable as they look. The carpets are still dark, the door panels show virtually no wear, and the dash pad hasn't been baked by the sun over the past three and a half decades. Engine turned panels dress up the instruments, which give a complete view of the engine's operation, and remarkably enough, everything works including the clock! This is a legitimate performance car, because there's a 4-speed shifter in the center console, just a few inches from the fat leather-wrapped steering wheel. I'm guessing Burt's car was an automatic, despite the soundtrack suggesting otherwise. You also get a modern AM/FM stereo radio in the center stack and a nicely finished trunk that still holds the original space-saver spare with inflator kit. Next to the Corvette, the most potent machine in America was the Trans Am, thanks to the Pontiac 400 cubic inch V8 under the hood. Nicely detailed, but not so the originality was buried, it shows careful maintenance since it was new and most certainly the hands of caring owners who knew they were keepers of a very special flame. There are no modifications, not even to the hood scoop, which was more cosmetic than functional. It does, however, have a modern dual exhaust system that sounds great and surely frees up a few extra horsepower along the way. The transmission and original rear end have never been opened, just kept in top condition with regular fluid changes. The suspension is surprisingly capable, and there were few other cars better suited to getting out of trouble than the Trans Am. The floors on this one remain in good order, the suspension and brakes are tight, and those beautiful Rally II wheels wear recent 225/70/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials. Go back and watch the movie, and I think you'll find both the film and the car have aged pretty well. This T/A is a heck of a lot of fun and will make you an instant celebrity anywhere you go. You probably haven't seen another code 65 Antique Gold 1969 GTO before, but now that you have, you're probably wondering why everyone makes such a fuss over Carousel Red. The gold is sophisticated, elegant, and more than attention-grabbing... it's impossible to ignore! This is, of course, the car's original color and it was refinished to a standard that's far, far better than anything the factory could have managed in 1969. Gaps are exacting, the bodywork has been smoothed and sanded so that the reflections are crisp and sharp, and even the front bumper that surrounds the grilles fits better than new. The two-stage urethane finish is miles deep and if we had to pick nits, well, we'd be hard-pressed to find anything beyond a nick or two that are all but invisible. The tan vinyl top is a very unusual option with the gold paint and it actually looks fantastic in person. The vinyl is correct GM stuff, so it has the right grain, and of course you know that the metal underneath is in great shape, no issues there. All the chrome and stainless trim was restored or replaced, leaving it in as-new condition throughout. This is a car that truly sparkles in every possible way. The code 252 gold interior is also original to the car, and by original, I don't just mean that it's the original color, but this is actually the interior that was installed back in 1969. Only the carpets have been replaced, and the overall presentation is extremely impressive. The seats show virtually zero wear, the door panels are excellent, and the headliner remains taut, suggesting a car that led a very easy life. The options list includes factory A/C, which still blows cold using R12 refrigerant, and a very rare AM/FM radio with a stereo 8-track player down on the center console. The gauges remain in excellent condition with clear lenses and bright markings and even the woodgraining on the console and dash is crisp, clear, and bright. The trunk is like new, with spatter paint on the floor, a correct mat, and a bias-ply spare tire that's quite possibly the original piece. Have we mentioned how impressed we are with this car? The 400 cubic inch V8 is the original, numbers-matching powerplant and has been rebuilt and detailed for show. From the chrome air cleaner with dual snorkels, to the metallic turquoise engine enamel to the white stripe hoses, this engine bay looks the way it did on the showroom floor. It also runs superbly with a nice V8 burble, plenty of torque, and no fussiness when it's cold. Special care was taken to replicate the original markings on the firewall and reproduction decals were used throughout for a correct look. It's equipped with power steering and brakes, plus a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, so it's easy to drive, and even the exhaust system has just the right sound. Out back, a heavy-duty 12-bolt rear end was part of the GTO package and there's a new gas tank as well. It sits exactly right on beautiful Rally II wheels and appropriate G70-14 redline tires. Having lived all its life in Georgia, this ultra-clean GTO gets everything right. If you haven't fallen in love yet, then you're not paying attention, because this is a very special Goat. The 1974 GTO was a one-year-only design of which just over 7000 were built. This unusual hatchback also includes a rather rare bucket seat interior with console, a strong-running 350 cubic inch small block, and traditional Carousel Red paint, the ultimate GTO color. The GTO moved to the X-body platform in 1974 and would be discontinued after that, so the compact coupe you see here kind of represents the bookend to the original 1964 models. This one was originally code A Starlight Black, but during the restoration, they decided it needed to look the part of Pontiac's final muscle car, and covered it in Carousel Red instead. They did a great job with the refresh, and it's pretty clear that this car was never someone's beater because everything fits well and lines up neatly. A new GTO stripe package was installed to really make it stand out, and yes, that hood scoop is actually fully functional, not just a piece of dress-up. Big chrome bumpers were a fact of life in 1974 and they're in good original condition here, and it does wear plenty of GTO emblems and badges, just in case you missed the point. White bucket seats were an option in the GTO, and in most cases, if you ordered an automatic transmission, you got a column-mounted shifter. However, this car has the optional center console, which moved the shifter to the floor where it belongs and as a result, this is one of the rarest of all the 1974 models. The seats are in very good condition and the white door panels show reasonably well for being original. The dash is standard X-body, but that center console I mentioned should probably look familiar, since it has a full set of auxiliary gauges very reminiscent of the early Camaro setup. There's a modern AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in the center of the dash and yes, this Goat carries factory A/C as well, which still uses good old R12 refrigerant to make the cold. It's also got a tilt steering column, surely making it one of the most optioned-out examples of its kind. You could also get either a regular trunk or a hatch on your GTO, and this car's hatchback body style makes it very practical with a neatly finished cargo area that's immense. The 350 cubic inch V8 is coded YS, which strongly suggests it's original to the car. It was rated at 200 horsepower, which was still a decent number in 1974 and remember, the X-body was a relatively light car, so performance is energetic. The big air cleaner assembly should look familiar to Trans Am junkies, as should the corporate turquoise engine enamel. It's quite original under the hood without so much as an upgraded carb or headers, so it runs right and should make a great car to show off at Pontiac meets. Dual exhaust was part of the GTO package, although the twin Flowmasters sound a heck of a lot better than the original setup. There's also a TH350 3-speed automatic, a set of highway-friendly gears out back, and custom 17-inch wheels that look like vintage PMD Rallys but now carry 245/40/17 front and 255/40/17 rear performance radials. If you like the Nova, this is a fantastic alternative with a big-name badge on its nose. Complete with a build sheet, it's a great addition to any Pontiac lover's collection. It's also nicely finished, offers a strong-running 326 cubic inch V8, and a very authentic look that will make Pontiac purists smile. This LeMans is so authentic, it wears its original combination of Cameo Ivory over Saddle Bronze (code SC), a paint job that was applied about 20 years ago and still looks pretty darned impressive. The top is painted, not a padded vinyl roof, but the look is clean and simple on the angular Lemans bodywork and aside from some light orange peel on the C-pillars, the finish looks fantastic. There's an appropriate gloss that is straight out of the 1960s and despite being driven regularly, there are no major signs of use. In fact, it's pretty clear that someone took exceptional care of this car, despite it being an affordable Lemans instead of a high-dollar GTO. The other styling cues are the same, from the split grille to the well-sculpted quarters to the taillights, which are rumored to have been the most expensive ever made. This car also has some pretty darned nice chrome, including the bumpers and window trim, and even the '326' emblems on the front fenders, which it wears proudly. It's possible that many of the components inside the car are original, and while some things are showing their age, we wouldn't change a thing. The bucket seats are nicely broken-in while the back seat almost looks new, and we dig the low-key look of black and gold inside this car. There are no rips or tears in the upholstery, the carpet is in good shape with just some light fading, and that gold steering wheel looks fantastic. Factory gauges monitor the vitals and they didn't feel the need to add any aftermarket dials under the dash and even the original AM radio is still in place. Door panels are excellent and even the dome light still works! The trunk is outfitted with a brand new mat and spare tire cover, plus a full-sized spare and jack assembly for a very correct look. Pontiac's 326 cubic inch V8 was no slouch in the performance department and with a rebuild about 15 years ago, it still runs great. It's got an .030 overbore but is otherwise stock, so it runs and drives like it should and looks right with corporate turquoise engine paint and a stock style air cleaner up top. Power steering was added when the car was restored, and that makes a big difference in drivability, and with dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers, it sounds very GTO-like. The transmission is a PowerGlide 2-speed automatic feeding the original rear end, which hangs on a set of air shocks to help balance the ride. Experts will note it does have GTO exhaust tips, but otherwise it's quite stock. The front suspension has been rebuilt, the floors are in great condition, and it drives superbly overall. Factory steel wheels with hubcaps are fitted with new 205/75/14 redline radials that give it the perfect look. Documented with PHS documents, including a reproduction build sheet, plus a stack of restoration receipts, this is a great Lemans that's always been a favorite car. Forget fake GTOs, a real Lemans definitely delivers fun. One of the greatest factory sleepers to come out of GM, this is also a very well-preserved, totally stock piece of GM history that deserves a place of honor in your collection. The off-white paint on these cars is beautifully subtle and the soft color is the perfect way for this apex predator to hunt out in the open. In GM tradition, the pace car decals were shipped separately and they were never installed on this car, so it's quite easy to slip under the radar with it. And like all instant collectables, this one has led a very easy life and has always been treated as something special, most visibly in its ultra-low 4267 mileage reading. The paint is 100% GM-applied, the bodywork underneath is as the factory did it, and even the rear wing (which was noted for cracking) is in excellent condition. There are a few signs of age, which are pretty much impossible to combat, but overall this is a show-quality car that has been carefully maintained to keep it in top condition. All the gold Indianapolis 500 badges are bright and crisp, the weather seals are supple, and we're guessing that the T-tops have never been off the car and they seal up beautifully. Tan upholstery was standard in the pace cars, but the leather found in this one was optional, making this car the one to own. There are some very, very minor signs of use but otherwise it remains in showroom fresh condition throughout. I'm sure someone has spent some time behind the wheel, but there's no scuffing on the outer bolsters and you'll note that the factory plastic wrap is still protecting the carpets. The Turbo came loaded with just about everything you could imagine, including A/C, power windows, locks, mirrors, and seats, cruise control, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo system with equalizer. It all works, of course, and if those floor mats somehow get dirty, there's a spare set in the trunk along with the original pace car decals, which have never been opened. Unlike posers such as the Mustang II and even its stable-mate, the Camaro, the guys at Pontiac were still building legitimate horsepower. Of course, you wouldn't bring a knife to a gun fight wearing bright red with a big black bird on your hood, so the T/A definitely brought the thunder along with its outrageous look. With values growing rapidly on these fun '70s icons, this one sticks to the factory formula. It had a cosmetic freshening several years ago that included new code 75 Buccaneer Red paint and fresh decals, and although not perfect, it looks as dazzling today as Burt's black car did rolling out of the trailer, causing Jerry Reed to exclaim, "Ho ho ho!" The finish is very good, the reproduction decals are exact in every way, and as a southern car all its life, the original body panels are super straight. Go ahead, look at this car and tell me you can't see it spinning its tires all over those southern highways. And while the black cars were a slam-dunk for Pontiac once that movie came out, owning this Buccaneer Red one is a mark of distinction that you're a true Pontiac fan and only care about the hardware. It's also considerably rarer than basic black today, so if you want to stand out, this is one heck of a way to do it. This one also sports a code 19N black interior, which appears to be almost entirely original and still looks amazing today. With just some gentle use marks on the seat covers, the seats are just as comfortable as they look. The carpets are still dark, the door panels show virtually no wear, and the dash pad hasn't been baked by the sun over the past three and a half decades. Engine turned panels dress up the instruments, which give a complete view of the engine's operation, and the console with its shifter for the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission underneath. This one also sports an unusual state-of-the-art AM/FM stereo, a working clock, a tilt steering column, rare cruise control, as well as factory A/C that sill blows cold. Wow! In addition, the trunk is clean and includes what appears to be the original mat. Next to the Corvette, the most potent machine in America was the Trans Am, thanks to the numbers matching Pontiac 400 cubic inch V8 under the hood. It's clean and with a few matching Buccaneer Red touches like the giant hood scoop, it looks great under the hood. Things like the hoses, belts, and wires appear to be recent and the A/C still uses good old R12 for best results. The suspension is surprisingly capable, and there were few other cars better suited to getting out of trouble than the Trans Am, even with highway-friendly 2.56 gears out back. The floors on this one remain solid, the suspension and brakes are tight, the recent dual exhaust system sounds properly muscular, and those beautiful snowflake alloys wear 225/70/15 BFGoodrich white letter radials. Go back and watch the movie, and I think you'll find both the film and the car have aged pretty well. This T/A is a heck of a lot of fun and will make you an instant celebrity anywhere you go. The market is moving on these cars, and this high-visibility example still carries its matching-numbers drivetrain. Recently repainted in its original color combination, this Firebird is exactly the opposite of subtle. Forget all the jokes about flying chickens on the hood, because this one has a clean, chiseled look that suggests horsepower without the added graphics. It was a clean, honest car before the repaint, too, and has ended up as an ultra-sharp reminder of what performance was like in the '70s. Gaps are good all around, and Pontiac gave it a great look with a modest chin spoiler, a pair of hood scoops, and a ducktail spoiler out back, all of which remain in excellent shape. The paint is two-stage urethane, so it has a great shine that's virtually indestructible, and the black lower edges emphasize the length of the car, making it long and low. It's not perfect, of course, but it's got an awesome look that'll stand out among all the Trans Ams you see at shows. White buckets were the best way to travel in 1976, and the classic color combination ensures that this Poncho will always be in demand by collectors. The seats are comfortable and supportive thanks to fresh foam underneath, and the seat covers themselves are exact reproductions that show very little wear since the restoration. The center console houses the original shifter for the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission as well as a handy storage bin, and the gauges look quite good considering their age. The original AM radio is still in the dash, but today entertainment comes from an AM/FM/CD stereo head unit neatly stashed in the glove box. The trunk is highly original and includes the original mat which is a bit tattered but these days, originality matters. While a lot of engines were down on horsepower in the mid-70s, Pontiac engineers were better than most at keeping their top engines at the top of the horsepower charts, and the 350 cubic inch V8 in this Firebird is a good runner. This is the original, numbers-matching engine and runs great, so it's ready to enjoy without worries. It wears Pontiac Turquoise paint, a Rochester 4-barrel under the original air cleaner, and an all-new exhaust system with a high-flow catalytic converter and transverse muffler. The chassis is in good order thanks to a lifetime in the south, and a set of reasonable gears in back make it an effortless cruiser. Wheels are the traditional Pontiac Rally IIs which have been painted to match the body and wear 235/60/15 BFGoodrich radials at all four corners. Even among GTO fans, the '67 stands out as a high water mark in terms of styling. This sleek hardtop has been beautifully restored from top to bottom and offers several desirable options and upgrades that earn it a spot on most enthusiasts' short list of cars to own before they die. Originally code SS Champagne, the restorer wisely chose a color that closely replicates the original hue, in this case, Pewter, which comes from the late-model GM color chart. The result is an unusual and super clean Goat that speaks softly and carries a big stick. If the most famous muscle car of all time could be considered a sleeper, this might be it. But a low profile doesn't mean this one didn't get restored right. Quite the opposite, in fact. With a low-profile color, it's the details and the quality that make it stand out, from the laser-straight quarter panels, to the panel gaps, to the trim and badges, this car is all about getting the little stuff right. The paint has a little bit of wear on it here and there, but that's OK on a car that's going to get driven a lot, and from even 5 feet away, it still looks new. Up front the stacked headlights and split grille are Pontiac trademarks, with wire mesh inserts that recall European sports cars that inspired the GTO. In back, a shiny chrome bumper and slotted taillights leave no question about the car's identity, even though Pontiac kept the GTO badges subtle. The black interior is an excellent choice when contrasting with the Pewter exterior, and gives the car a dash of character that looks racy and upscale at the same time. As far as we can tell, this is an original bucket seat/console car, and the seats have been neatly reupholstered using materials that match the original for texture and pattern. Other cool options include a Rally gauge cluster with tachometer, an AM radio, and an aftermarket A/C system under the dash that uses modern hardware to make it very effective. The woodgrain appliques are in good condition with no peeling or fading (they are, after all, just decals), and the deep dish steering wheel is a perfect representation of the '60s; surely you already have a pair of string-back driving gloves, right? The trunk is also correctly finished with a reproduction mat and a full-sized spare tire assembly. The engine is the a thumping Pontiac 400 cubic inch V8, and has been upgraded with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor living under the original louvered air cleaner. The rest of the engine bay is neatly detailed with Pontiac Turquoise paint on the block, chrome valve covers, and satin black inner fenders, and it all looks quite correct. There's a big aluminum radiator up front and the power brake booster is recent, so it feels confident on the road. An original-spec TH400 3-speed automatic feeds a 12-bolt rear end, and the chassis is in great shape, nice enough that you'll want to show it off a bit. The suspension offers recent shocks and there's a brand new Flowmaster exhaust system that gives it that awesome muscle car rumble. Handsome factory Rally II wheels always look great, and the staggered 215/70/15 front and 225/70/15 rear white-letter radials complete the sporty look. There are plenty of GTOs out there, but not many capture this one's clean look, potent powerplant, and comfortable interior. This 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is such a car. The combination of the super-rare Brewster Green paint and a matching-numbers 455 is surely a big part of that, but you can't overlook the quality of the restoration, which makes this a very special F-body indeed. Code 48 Brewster Green was a one-year-only finish that even the most die-hard Trans Am fans have probably never seen. It gives the brutally muscular Trans Am a sophisticated, adult look that belies its sporting intentions and looks downright gorgeous. Professionally refinished two years ago by noted expert Daryl Wilson, it's simply spectacular in person. The depth and brilliance of the dark green paint is far beyond anything they were doing in 1973, yet it retains that early '70s vibe that looks exactly right. If you really wanted perfection, give it a professional buff, but be ready for all the attention this car will generate at the next B-O-P show you attend. Correct decals have been reinstalled on the hood and rear spoiler and few people will argue that the early second-generation Trans Am wasn't an awesome-looking ride. The urethane nose is in great shape, the stainless window surrounds are bright and shiny, and out back you still got a chrome bumper, which looks fantastic against the dark green paint. The brochures called the interior "Tuxedo White" and it, too, is this car's original color choice. Restored with new seat covers, door panels, headliner, and contrasting black carpets, it's a dramatic twist that works really well with the Brewster Green paint. A center console, fat 3-spoke steering wheel, and Pontiac's famous engine-turned instrument panel all remind you that this isn't a garden-variety car but a top-of-the-line performance machine from the best in the business. The gauges are in very good condition, including the factory tach which shows a correct 5750 RPM redline for the 455 up front. Like many of its siblings, this Trans Am offers an upgraded digital AM/FM stereo head unit that includes an iPod interface, so driving this car feels more contemporary. The high-quality restoration work shows everywhere you look, even in the trunk where you'll find no traces of body rot or other issues waiting to haunt you later. The 455 cubic inch V8 in a Trans Am really needs no introduction, although you'll be pleased to learn that this is the car's original, numbers-matching motor, fully rebuilt by Georgia engine building legend, Matt Bishop. The bright green hood scoop is a marked contrast to the Pontiac Turquoise engine underneath and most of the details here are quite correct. It was rebuilt to stock specs and freshly detailed so it has a crisp, bright look that only helps this car stand out. You'll note that the scoop is purely cosmetic and the engine actually draws air from the inner fenders, but there's no reason not to love the shaker look. The TH400 3-speed automatic transmission has also recently been rebuilt and is a willing partner that shrugs off the 455's massive torque, twisting it back to a 10-bolt rear end. The chassis is highly detailed, with correct red oxide floors, a new gas tank, and a fresh Flowmaster dual exhaust system that sounds amazing. Factory Rally II wheels look right on the early T/A and carry 225/70/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials all around. Professionally restored to a very high standard, this is a rare Trans Am in a spectacular color combination and ready to show and enjoy immediately. From any angle, it's merely an extremely well-preserved third-generation T/A in great colors with a long list of options. If you remember these cars, you'll be happy to see this one so nicely preserved. The GTA was perhaps the ultimate expression of Pontiac performance in the '80s. V8 engine, big tires, big brakes, big wing, it didn't mix words and stood unabashedly for all-out performance. The fact that the shape was still working so well more than seven years after its debut speaks highly of the original design, and few guys will argue that this isn't a great-looking muscle car. For a car going on 27 years old, it looks great wearing gorgeous Burgundy paint (a factory-correct respray) that was applied about twenty years ago, blemish-free ground-effects, and a reproduction carbon-fiber wing that replaces the damage-prone original. Add in the vented hood and taillights behind smoked Plexiglas, and you get the nastiest car this side of a Corvette. None of it gives any indication of what's going on under the hood, either, so while the GTA was the most potent F-body on the street, today it will definitely catch folks by surprise. OK, so Pontiac was famous for their over-wrought interiors, but that's all part of the appeal today. The deeply bolstered tan cloth buckets are supportive and comfortable, and show the kind of gentle use that characterizes your favorite cars. The steering wheel is festooned with buttons, as is the dash, but GM stuck to simple analog gauges that worked better for performance driving than the digital setup from just a few years earlier. Of course, being the 1980s, there's a monochromatic gray finish on all the dash and center console surfaces, but like the bodywork, that was simply the fashion at the time. The GTA also came loaded with just about everything, including A/C, power windows and locks, cruise control, a tilt wheel, and power mirrors, and of course, the automatic transmission that was the "A" part of GTA. An AM/FM/cassette stereo was part of the package, too and it includes an '80s perfect graphic equalizer. The nicely tailored hatch area shows minimal wear and still includes the original space-saver spare and jack assembly. The 5.7L TPI V8 was a desirable engine in 1988, and putting it in an F-body made it competitive with the mighty Mustang 5.0. With 225 horsepower on tap, it was a strong runner and the bulletproof multi-port fuel injection system is famous for torque output. The engine bay is tidy and well-maintained, with a new alternator and the A/C upgraded to R134a refrigerant. Underneath, the 700R4 4-speed automatic shifts quickly enough to make it seem like second gear is connected to your right foot, and it slices through traffic with ease thanks to the engine's fat torque curve. An upgraded exhaust system gives it an unbeatable exhaust note, but that's just about the only notable deviation from OEM equipment under the skin. And for the perfect '80s look it rolls on its original gold alloys wearing 245/50/16 BFGoodrich G-Force performance radials. The ultimate low-profile high-profile car, this GTA offers something for everyone, especially if your first love is performance. Matching numbers, awesome colors, lots of documentation, and being a rare factory 4-speed Formula, it's the F-body to own if screaming bird decals aren't your thing. Carousel Red is a purely Pontiac performance color, and code 65 is this car's original hue. It's been fully restored and while it's not perfect, it's pretty darned nice. The car obviously led a very good life as a cherished piece of Pontiac performance, but during the restoration all the sheetmetal was smoothed and massaged back into shape, the gaps were set precisely, and it was block sanded for hours and hours in preparation for that glowing red/orange paint. Nothing coming out of GM showrooms in 1970 looked this good and if you want to cause a stir at the next Pontiac national meet, this is the car that'll do it. The Ram Air hood is fully functional and includes a cool hood tach, and while the look isn't exactly subtle, the lack of spoilers and flares give this F-body a cleaner look than its Trans Am siblings. Details like the grilles, headlight buckets, and the emblem on the nose are in excellent condition, and it wears its ducktail spoiler with distinction. Chrome, lenses, window glass, and the Ram Air decals on the hood are in outstanding condition and look fantastic. You might expect black upholstery in a car like this, but this highly unusual Firebird sports code 217 Medium Sandalwood instead, and we have to say that it works quite well. It's as nicely restored as the bodywork, including new seat covers, carpets, door panels, and dash pad, all of which match well, perhaps better than new. The woodgrained dash appliques are bright and crisp, surrounding gauges that are bright, crisp, and fully functional. There's no console, but the 4-speed shifter sticking out of the floor suggests that this Firebird Formula was built for one thing and one thing only and it shows everywhere you look. There's an AM radio, which is the original component that was put there in 1970, but there's nothing else in this car that would slow it down or hinder performance in any way. Rubber floor mats protect the light-colored carpets and the trunk is lined with a reproduction mat and equipped with an original-style space-saver spare and jack. Formulas are a rather rare bird this day and age and this is the original, numbers-matching L74 400 cubic inch V8 (with wicked #12 performance heads), rebuilt to stock specs and detailed for show. The twin snorkels on the hood feed a trick air cleaner that sits atop a Pontiac Turquoise engine block, which is a correct WT code casting. It shows almost no signs of use, no burned engine paint, no crusty exhaust manifolds, and all the correct finishes are still bright and clean. Things like the hose clamps, fasteners, and decals are all correct and yes, it runs extremely well with all 335 horsepower showing up ready to party. The 4-speed rocks through the gears without effort and the 12-bolt rear end doesn't seem to mind. The only non-stock component underneath is the custom dual exhaust with X-pipe and exhaust cut-outs, just in case you can't get enough attention with the paint. Stock Pontiac Rally II wheel with polished faces look great and carry fat 245/60/15 BFG radials for the perfect stance. Documented with a factory build sheet, reproduction window sticker, and other PHS paperwork, this may very well be the finest 1970 Formula 400 available anywhere. This 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix hardtop is definitely a surprise. With the GTOs and Bonnevilles getting all the attention, it's only a matter of time before everyone catches on that the Grand Prix is really the one to own. This one packs a rumbling 389, a gorgeous interior full of options, and has the right look for full-sized Pontiac muscle, all at a bargain price. Surprised? Still wearing correct Silver Mist paint, this gorgeous full-sized coupe has a great look to it, doesn't it? Maybe it's the legendary Super Duty DNA running through its fuel lines or something, but this car looks potent. Pontiac designers nailed the proportions, giving the big car a sporty attitude despite being notably bigger than its GTO sibling, which is no minor achievement. The all-new look of the 1963 cars introduced styling features that would become Pontiac trademarks for years to come, including stacked headlights and the slick taillights hidden in the trim. Crisp body lines and a minimum of add-on styling gimmicks certainly help, and today it shows off excellent fit and finish that's pretty much the way the factory did it. It has recently had much the chrome and emblems refinished, which adds sparkle to the overall look. The grille remains in great shape, the glass is original and good shape, and the handsome black vinyl top gives it a touch of formality. As far as we can tell, the interior is completely original and even after nearly 50 years it looks remarkable. Pontiac was big on two- or even tri-tone interiors, but this handsome no-nonsense Grand Prix wears basic black. The original vinyl is in excellent condition with no notable splits or tears and the look should be familiar to anyone who drove a GM car in the 60s. Matching door panels are almost too nice to be that old, and the dash has not been baked in the hot sun despite this car hailing from the warm, sunny south. Even the clear Lucite steering wheel looks great with only minor signs of age. All the instruments are bright and crisp, including the console-mounted economy gauge, and if you look closely you'll discover that the high-beam indicator is a Chief Pontiac head in profile. This car also carries factory A/C that's fully functional, a center console, power front seat, and an AM/FM radio that sounds great. The trunk is upholstered in brown carpet and carries a full-sized spare. The original, numbers-matching 389 shows a lot of recent work on the top end, and purrs using an upgraded Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor. Again, we suspect that the engine has never been out of the car and it runs superbly, strongly suggesting that this car hasn't been raced or abused. With big block torque, it cruises effortlessly at just about any speed and a few upgrades make it reliable, including a modern alternator and new power brake booster. The exhaust is a 2.5-inch setup with glasspack-style mufflers for a vintage performance sound that definitely commands attention. A 3-speed automatic drives the original full-size rear end with 3.23 gears inside, so it's still the superlative highway cruiser it has always been. It's quite solid, too, so you should have no fears about dipping into the torque reserves any time you'd like. And with classic 8-lug wheels and correct 8.5x14 bias-ply whitewalls, it has an absolutely perfect stance. So are you surprised by how much you like this nicely documented Grand Prix?
