There are a ton of photos and a few videos after the description below. Please review all content, ask any questions, and/or come and see this classic in person in order to feel completely comfortable in bidding on this classic!!! I have a 100% feedback because I put a bunch of photos and videos of the vehicle. If you want to buy a classic car that looks good in 10-20 photos, then buy someone else's classic. But if you want to see 70+ photos and a few videos of the car actually running and driving, here's the Muscle car for you. 1972 Plymouth Road RunnerHurst Pistol Grip4 Speed w/ 440 Big Block Classic Road Runner Curious Yellow paint color with black strobe stripes and rear spoiler. A light metallic was added to the strobe stripes and spoiler. Somehow the stripes and spoiler still appear to be satin, but then have pearl that can show in the light. There's a walk around video of this beauty after this description. The Road runner decals along the rocker panels and rear vanels are just decals and can be removed. Interior is a Black bucket seat 4 speed console interior. The front buckets and rear seat are in good shape. The dash is in good shape, but there is a crack. Included in the sale is a brand new dash cap. The interior isn't perfect, but it's in decent condition. Get in and have fun! There's a ton of pictures of the interior too after this description. The 440 was built out, but is not the original motor. It runs very strong. This Road Runner is a fun to drive! The trans is an 883 4 speed manual with a close ratio Hurst Pistol Grip shifter. The trans was also rebuilt less than 4k miles ago. The rear is a 8 and 3/4's rear set up with a low cruising gear of 3.23. So, this Mopar is currently set up for cruises and drives. But with a change of the rear gear this 440 4 speed can be ready for the street and strip. The previous owner is a Mopar/Road runner collector. He owned this car for 15 plus years. He's owned Challengers, GTX's, Dusters, Chargers, etc... This was his local car show/cruise car. There are three very small dents in the upper corner of the hood from one of the trophies falling on it while in their garage. Those dents are shown below. The exhaust just shook one of the trophies off the shelf. He set the Road Runner up with green LED show lights for night time cruises and car shows. The LED's are in the engine bay and around the car. There are pictures of the Road Runner lit up at night after the description. Previous owner stated that the 440 engine was a late to mid 70's Warlock 440 Mopar big block, he and his father rebuilt the engine less than 4,000 miles ago. The motor is punched 40 over. The crank is cut at 10:30 thousandths. The motor was decked and shaved creating that nice port and polished block heads. It was built with the hardened seats for the new gas, and has a 509 racing cam with a 484 duration lift. Even though the engine and trans were rebuilt some time ago, the previous owner states that they have less than 2000 miles on them. This was their classic muscle to take to the local car shows. When the engine was rebuilt all compression tests where done and checked out correctly. The previous owner also stated the engine dynoed at over 550 hp. He took great pride in the knowledge that both he and his father had regarding their passion for Mopars, and the building of performance drive-trains. The carburetor is a 1968 780 double pump Holley. The dual exhaust is a 3 inch with the correct style machine gun tips. It has all new power steering pump, alternator, battery, high torque mini starter, and a new water pump. It also has a new stronger racing yolk on the rear with the long U-bolts. They also put a new shift pack and new shift rods in it from Brewers performance, and new spicer U-joints as well. Trans also had a new brute center force clutch, throw out bearings, and flywheel resurfaced during the rebuild. There's some other miscellaneous parts like a shifter boot and tach pictured to be installed. There's a couple of videos of this 440 4 speed running after this description. Factory Mopar ralley wheels have new center caps, and are wrapped in brand new Super Sport Radials. They give this Road Runner that nostalgic look, and are also great to burn a little rubber with like it's back in the day. As stated before, this car was owned by a Road Runner collector! It maintains it's solid structure with a decent driver quality. Pictured is every body panel individually so you can see for yourself. In my opinion the frame, floors, and trunk are all very solid. The trunk floor is solid, but there was some moisture under the dynamat which did cause only surface rust. This is also pictured after the description. The body is also pretty solid too in my opinion. The two areas that could use some attention in time are the lower portion of the rear doors and the lower portion of the front of the quarter panels after the doors. There are pictures of each body panel for you to get a good understanding of the Road Runner. It's a nice rider, and all aspects are shown in all the pictures provided. Please review all pictures, videos, and ask for more if needed, and/or come and see this classic before bidding on this '72 Plymouth Road Runner 440 4 speed. The Road Runner decals along the rocker panels and rear valance are only decals, so they can be simply removed. Bottom line is that this a Real 1972 Plymouth Road Runner 4 speed in that 70's high impact yellow with Black Bucket Seats and console that is an awesome driver that looks good and drives great. It does have some signs of age like chips and small dents, but again this is a Driver. Get in, shift out some gears, and cruise! Unfortunately, there is no Fender Tag. The vin does decode to be an original 1972 Road Runner 400 car. The build sheet may be in the rear seat since it looks to be original. Please bid on this vehicle if you're completely comfortable with purchasing this vehicle. A deposit is required immediately, and full payment is required within 5 business days. I ask that you please discuss any possible exceptions to these listing rules prior to bidding comfortably. This 1972 Plymouth is Sold As Is. There is no warranty implied, given, or stated. Acceptable Payment types: Cash, Cashiers check, and Bank wire transfer. A $500 deposit is required immediately thru PayPal at the end of the auction. The deposit is non-refundable. Seller reserves right to re-list if full payment is not made per above terms.Terms and Disclaimer: This vehicle is being sold "as-is" with no warranty expressed, written,or implied. Contact me with any questions, Paul: Four 1 Four - 2 Five 4 - One One 8 One. The year 1971 brought significant change to the American muscle car, with a number of model redesigns appearing. One was the release of the 2-door G-series Chrysler B-bodies, including the Charger/Super Bee and GTX/Road Runner muscle cars. At the time, few foresaw how close to the end of this era the Big Three manufacturers were. In fact, the 1971 model run was also the end of the high-performance equipment as originally optioned on this beautiful 440 Six Barrel Road Runner. This body was called the ‘fuselage’ style and featured much smoother, more dramatic edges than previous renderings of the classic Plymouth. This was the direct result of ongoing aerodynamic testing that Chrysler had been involved in, and it proved apt on the NASCAR circuit, where this design took Richard Petty to 21 event crowns and the first-ever Winston Cup title that season. On this car, painted C7 “In-Violet”, with the tuxedo White and Black interior, the roof is augmented by a black rear-angled strobe graphic that laced over from the top and ended in Road Runner logos on each side. The factory rear spoiler only adds to its appeal as raw yet respectable power. While the color itself lends to this car’s attraction, other visual points of interest are hood tie-down pins, body color sport mirrors, raised white-letter Goodyear Polyglas tires and 15 x 7 Rallye wheels (as ordered). To further state the cars “As Ordered” agenda to go fast in a straight line approximately a ¼ mile at a time, it was ordered without power steering or a radio! While the styling change did end production of convertibles, high-compression engines were still available—among them the Hemi, the 340 and the one-of-just-137-built 440 Six Barrel models like this car. Shortened to 6BBL in Plymouth nomenclature, the big engine was rated at 385 HP in 1971, featuring three Holley 2-barrel carburetors atop a semi high-rise intake manifold. Flow-rated at more than 1,000 CFM, this trio would open based on engine vacuum and simply blur the entire vision of anybody inside the car as it accelerated, coupled to the roar of air being pulled in and screaming rear tires. Callouts on the stylized hood let everyone know that this car means nothing but business. This car came with the A833 4-speed “Hemi” transmission, ably shifted with a short-handled Hurst Pistol Grip. The car was ordered with the optional bucket seats, podded instrument cluster and radio delete! A Dana 60 differential (with 4.10 gears and the sure-grip option) is under the rear end, visible behind the factory rear valance blackout graphics. We mentioned this was the end. Though Road Runner continued on for 1972, the code-E87 Six Pack engine was to be discontinued at year’s end with its boots on, with solid 10.5:1 compression and visible notoriety. Coupled with low production numbers, the desirable 4-speed/Dana driveline, this car showcases the very end of Detroit’s legendary supercar era. If you read the articles on this car, you will know why it doesn’t retain its original drive-train. There is a properly date coded 440 as well as an original Hemi 18-spline transmission and an original ’71 B-body Dana. The car was restored from 1994 to 1996 and brought to the Mopar Nationals, and has only been driven approximately 3000 miles since. Currently has 15 x 7 steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps. It looks as good as it does in the pictures. I know “Fresh” restorations are preferred, but wouldn’t you rather have a car that has withstood the test of time and shows its true colors? I have seen many undocumented restorations come apart at the seams as years go on due to replacement metal/shoddy body and paint. The bodywork and paint was applied by Rick “RestoRick” Kreuziger, one of the best if not the best in the Mopar world. http://www.restorick.com/ The paint, chrome, trim, interior, etc. are in amazing condition. While it isn’t a fresh restoration, it is still a top the scoreboard at a #2 or better. Pictures document the process from pulling the car out of the pole barn with 100% original paint to the final day of the restoration! There was no broadcast sheet as the seats were parted from the car, but the fender tag is present and all the body numbers are still in place as well as the original door sticker. With less than 1% of total production, how many are still in existence today? How many still retain all of their original sheet metal? How many have documented ownership back to the original purchase? There are only four (4) documented owners prior to myself. How many have a video documenting the day it was brought home? This car is being sold "As Is" with no warranties either expressed or implied. A $1,000.00 deposit is to be made via Paypal immediately after auction is won. The balance must be made by wire transfer within seven (7) days of auction close. I am willing to sell to international buyers as long as you meet these terms and take care of all transportation arrangements and fees. I can hold the car up to 30 days to accommodate the shippers schedule at no additional charge. I have a perfect Ebay rating and want to keep it that way, so if you have ANY questions, ask them prior to the purchase! Please contact me PRIOR TO A BEST OFFER SO THAT WE ARE BOTH ON THE SAME PAGE IN REGARDS TO PAYMENT AND TRANSPORTATION. Serious bidders only with cash on hand!!!!Thanks for looking! The car is for sale locally as well and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Air grabber, 4 speed, max cooling, Hemi suspension, Power Disc. Brakes, Power Steering w/ cooling Tube Fins, 3.91 sure grip car, with 3 Speaker Dash 8 track player. Been sitting a very long time. N.O.M. Motor Car has 66' 383 runs and sounds very good just put a little gas down the carburetor and it starts right up, you will need to have the gas tank cleaned or replaced before you could start driving the car and the Clutch assembly needs to be replaced it slips and throw-out bearing makes noise, Brakes need to be rebuilt, the breaks don’t work at all. Car will need to be towed to your location and will require a winch to get it on a trailer/transport. Car is mostly complete. At one point car had been given a paint job and a semi- restoration of sort. This was never completed from what I can tell. Painted original black again at the time. Still retains its hemi suspension, leaf springs, torsion bars, etc. Has air grabber air cleaner, ducting is not present. Original air grabber cable included. Original 4 piston front disc brake set up. Trunk floor, Floor pans, wheel houses, inner fenders, Frame rails, Firewall, and below the rear window are all solid no replacement needed Surface rust only very solid body. Very small rust areas on Driver’s and Passenger door and quarter panel, only small patch panels needed. Data plate has never been removed from this vehicle. I never found a build sheet.
