The 548th car built by Mercedes-Benz in 1959, this rare survivor was, in addition to its complete restoration once in its lifetime by its prior collector owner of 20 years, recently professionally refreshed while maintaining original vintage parts. Stored in a climate controlled environment and has not been in any inclement weather since restoration. The car includes additional original parts or accessories, Two sets of keys complete on vintage MB keyring(s), Owner’s Manual, Complete Tool Kit and Wrap, Original Jack and spare as well as a 5th finished to match Wheel Cap. This 190 of course runs and drives flawlessly, all gears operate smoothly and all systems/lights/radio etc function including the dash, courtesy and clearance lights. This extraordinary 1963 Mercedes Benz 190 SL is the rarest of the 190 SL breed with only 104 being dubbed 1963 models and only 50 being European delivery. The recent article in the July-August edition of Star magazine has an article called "Coming into its Own" on page 60 where it lists the number of automobiles made and what year showing this to be one of 104. Daimler-Benz began development of the 190 SL in 1952, just before the introduction of its Pontoon sedans. Similar to the sedans, it was constructed with a welded frame-floor structure and separate sub-frame. The 190 SL had a shorter wheelbase which was exactly the same as the famous gullwing and roadster 300 SL models. This perfect example of the 190 SL Mercedes was the dream automobile of my great aunt from MS who made the decision to order this and have it delivered to her and her husband while visiting Germany. She told me personally it was just like a dream come true to pick up her custom ordered Mercedes from the factory and to tour Germany while visiting. She recounted, when having it shipped back to the US, she was on the same boat returning with the car, that not one morning past where she did not wake and immediately walk to the storage compartment of the ship to look at her Mercedes. This car resided in MS most all of its life and was driven only on special occasions. Her love and passion for this car continued her entire life. In approximately 1995 Bruce L. Adams did a full rotisserie restoration, documented with extensive photos and notes, making this car brand new again. Equipped with the original Solex dual carburetors and all of its original equipment, this one owner automobile has been stored with a cover and indoors and as proven by less than 9200 miles since its restoration, was driven just enough to keep the car in excellent shape. Approximately a year and a half ago I realized the true uniqueness and rarity of this specific car and decided to awaken this sleeping beauty. With the most sought after color combination and being the last and best of it’s breed I decided to make it a perfect Mercedes again. I have a good friend who is highly involved with classic Mercedes Benzes and he recommended I send it to Bud’s Benz in Douglasville Georgia, just west of Atlanta. David Latham, the owner of Bud’s Benz, came to Memphis to look at the Mercedes and was very excited to work on such a rare automobile. In consideration of his professionalism and honesty I had a covered transport truck deliver the car to Douglasville from MS. 1990 Mercedes Benz 300SL: Black on Black mated to a very rare 5 speed manual transmission: I often see rare cars, but take this into consideration, less than 200 of these were produced with about 80 making it to the US. I own two of them and selling one, it does not matter which one I sell - my ohter 300SL is 1991 with Black on Tan and listed here as well. Runs / Drives strong, all electrical's work - all gauges work - upgraded tires and rims - Original stereo. This car has been exceptionally well maintained and a jewel of my collection. Hate to see it go. Note: You can always buy a R129 for less even those faster 500SL - but to truly understand the performance of a R129, you need to drive a manual, I have owned over 70 cars from Corvette Z06 to Porsche 944 Turbo, from S2000 to BMW Z3 M roadster, but there is something about a R129 mated to a manual transmission - you must drive to understand what I mean. This is a classic 560SL hard top convertible in need of TLC. It has only 150,267 miles and a clear title and clean carfax. Engine runs and is drivable although it needs a new battery. As you can see from the pics, the body is straight with no rust issues that I have noticed plus its always been a southern car, no salt! It is fitted with chrome AMG 5 spoke wheels and with some work could be an awesome driver with plenty of potential. I have sold these cars for over $15,000 in the recent past and they are an awesome cruiser with the top off. AS an added bonus I will include a 1984 300CD as I just need to move them both, so buy one get one free or make an individual offer. The 300CD is a 1984, clear car fax, clean title. These diesels runs forever and are a classic in their own rights, needs restored inside and out or just tidied up and driven. Vin# is WDBAB33A6EA117, miles are 240,192.
