2000 Mercedes-Benz Brabus ML 5.8 edition - ID# 4JGAB72E5YA190833 - 040 Black/Black full leather - 73,xxx miles - CA car from new - Full handbook packet - Full Brabus 5.8 liter upgrade when new This ML430 was purchased new at Mercedes-Benz of Laguna Niguel in May of 2000. The car was then delivered to Brabus North America for a complete cosmetic and technical upgrade to its 'Brabus ML 5.8' specification. The car was largely disassembled by Brabus and prepared for the upgrades. Interior modifications included fully re-trimming all seats and door panels in softer leather and covering most trim panels in stitched leather and re-trimming the headliner with stitched leather. Additional burl walnut was added and all grab handles were finished in walnut veneers. A lockable storage drawer was added under the front seat. Exterior cosmetic upgrades included Brabus front and rear bumper covers, front upper and lower grille bars, rear valance with stainless steel faces and lighted running boards. 20" Brabus monoblock chrome wheels were added as well as ML55 wheel arch flares. The original 4.3 liter V8 was removed from the car and air-freighted to Brabus in Germany for a full upgrade to 5.8 liters using Brabus pistons, valves etc. The result was a whopping 46% power increase to 400 HP and torque readings of 427 ft/lbs. The exhaust system was upgraded to the Brabus Sport Exhaust System with stainless steel resonators and four straight outlets to help the engine breath with NO increase in exhaust note. Rear springs were replaced with Brabus sport springs and shocks were replaced by uprated Bilstein units. A subtle Brabus wing on the rear edge of the roof keeps everything on the ground. These are most but not all of the upgrades. The entire package is superbly integrated and results in a supremely comfortable and quiet Autobahn stormer. It pulls like a freight train and offers additional grip with no loss of refinement. A massive high-performance period sound system was beautifully integrated as well. This beautiful ML 5.8 has just been serviced, smogged and safety checked and is ready to enjoy. We fitted new front tires and renewed the rear brakes.
