ONE LAST TIME FOR SALE- Putting up for sale is a "rare" 1979 Jeep Cherokee Wide Track Golden Eagle edition project car. I have been restoring this Jeep since 2003, work here and there and got it to where she needs to be for a car show but, she still needs some TLC as far as the Paint and Interior go. Body is is RUST FREE condition, only one ding in driver door but body is great shape. This jeep was originally from North Carolina so never exposed to salt/snow we have here in MD/WV. This is a ONE of a kind Cherokee in this condition and the picture can speak for themselves but, I have included what she comes with- Jeep was rebuilt for show purposes only, originally had 107,866 on original odometer, and has only 430 miles on new rebuilt 5.9 liter V8 with some tweaks here and there bringing her to over 400 HP. •Edlebrock Intake- is a performance series, sounds great •Edlebrock 4 barrel 9000 series carb (from bjs Full Size Jeep) with air spacer, 4 barrel sounds awesome. •Edlebrock value covers and engine dress up kit, stainless steel bolts. •Engine was rebuilt on 10/10/2012 along with transmission (Turbo 400) and transfer case has been rebuilt, all new houses and lines. Select Trac 4 wheel drive system. NEW engine has only 400 miles on it so she still needs to be broke in!!!! •New starter, water pump performance series, steering pump, fuel pump, everything on engine is new so it looks like it was out of the showroom floor (see pics) •New 4" lift kit from Rough Country which has new leaf springs, rough country shocks with 33 inch wild County tires (only 400 miles on tires) •All 4 new brakes, metal off road heavy duty brake lines, brakes excellent. •Custom new exhaust system 4", muffler and sounds awesome!! •ARB front and rear covers Dana 44 covers •Frame has been sand blasted and treated with rust inhibiter and sprayed with a anti rust foundation along with Linex of Under fender wells (pics are unbelievable), work was done professionally by Linex and she turned out beautiful. •Front end has been linex (NOTE, BRUSH GUARD NOT INCLUDED WITH SALE) •Under hood has been sandblasted and painted for mirror shine with black heated resistant paint professionally. •Front dash and cluster is perfect, new Speed gauges and RPM gauge installed. Looks awesome •New Speedometer when engine was put in to keep track of new engine miles. 1980 JEEP CHEROKEE CHIEF WIDE TRACK TWO DOORAMC 360 AUTOMATICSELECTABLE 4WD LOCKOUT HUBS78K ORIGINAL MILES With its original 78,000 miles and 35 years of age, this Cherokee is an excellent example of how well these Jeeps were made. The AMC motor starts and runs great while all other mechanical features work as they should. This model does have facory A/C which appears to work but could possible use a charge as it does not blow extremely cold. This is an original Arizona Jeep and wasn't moved into the Midwest until the early 2000's making this Cherokee virtually rust free. I have searched for rust and have only been able to find a small spot in the drivers floorboard and the rear fender flares have some rust bubbles through the paint but are still solid. The electric rear lift gate window goes up and down as it should but is slow. No noticeable major signs of body damage or evidence of major previous body repairs.The motor has an aftermarket intake, carb and an electric fuel pump. All else appears to be 100% original. This is one of the few models from this era that has manual lockout hubs and selectable hi/lo 4wd with the shift lever beside the drivers seat. Fourwheel drive works as it should. Transfer case shifts easily. The automatic trans shifts and goes through the gears as it should but does have a pan leak which is the only noticeable leak on the entire drivetrain. No mechanical issues are known as this is just an overall tight drivetrain.The only known issues on this Cherokee are as follows: No door panels, drivers seat and console are ripped, the drivers front window needs to be reattached to regulator, the top of the grill is missing, one headlight is loose, side marker lamps are not installed, original foam dash is cracked, vent window weatherstrip is cracked, transmission pan leaks. Cosmetically this Jeep is not perfect but I am listing every thing I know so there are no surprises. Please ask any questions. Clear Oklahoma title ready to transfer upon completion of purchase. A $500 deposit through paypal is required upon agreement of purchase. Buyer is responsible for shipping or pick up arrangements. This is a running driving Jeep so loading for a transport company shouldn't be an issue.
