This specific Cherokee has the WideTrac Chief package. This is signified by the wider fender flares and more aggressive stance. This is one of the neatest Jeeps I have ever seen and has been extremely well taken care of. This Jeep was meticulously maintained and protected by its original owners and always pampered.This truck was bought new in Marshall, Texas and spent its life between North Texas and was in Ruidoso, New Mexico by 1982 as seen by the Ruidoso Jockey Club sticker on windshield. The Jeep has just received a freshening up both cosmetically and mechanically. The mileage is believed to be correct based on the overall originality of the Jeep. The Jeep has lived its life in the dry New Mexico climate and has always been well cared for. The paint on the car is mostly original in gorgeous Omaha Orange and shined up very nice but shows a few blemishes here and there which have been professionally color matched and airbrushed in. The whole body of the truck is believed to be all original paint other than the roof and a blend in the rear quarter which has just been color sanded and buffed to really bring out the original shine. The rubber seals are all in very nice shape and the jeep seals up perfect. All glass on the truck is original even the windshield! The bumpers and all other chrome trim are in excellent original condition and have been well preserved by the dry desert air and have no pitting or rust issues. The car is riding on aftermarket Jeep 15" wheels with progressive Capitol All Terrain tires and fresh hardware. The rear wheels have been kicked out 1.5" by bolt of spacer to really fill up those widened wheel flares. The aluminum mag wheels are in nice condition and have new center caps. The interior is in great shape all around and is 90% original with only a few seat panels replaced to make the interior perfect. The seats still retain the beautiful and comfortable embossed cream vinyl. The headliner was just replaced and carpets are original. All dials and controls function as they should and are illuminated at night. The dashboard is in excellent shape with no cracks. All windows work correctly and the rear window functions as it should. The under dash A/C system works great and was just serviced with a new compressor. Even the original Jeep Am/Fm radio is in working condition. Mechanically, this Cherokee runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts quite easily. The 5.9L 360ci engine has been fully tuned up with oil change and runs like a top! The previous owner really took care of this rig. The transfer cases were just flushed, cleaned, and serviced with new Jeep friction modifier fluid. Every mechanical system on this Jeep was gone through and given a clean bill of health. The engine compartment was fully detailed to original condition. All in all, this is one of the cleanest and most correct Cherokee that I have had the privilege of being associated with.
