Freshly restored 1968 Jeep Commando 4x4 Half Cab pick up convertible. This is a classic and desirable vehicle, recent "antique white" color paint job and new Jeep Renegade graphic package. The Jeep has a mild spring suspension lift, approximately 4" over factory, and rides on fairly new Goodyear Wrangler tires 33x12.50x15 approximately 80% tread, on aluminum American Racing wheels. There is a 9,000lb winch installed on a custom front bumper which works great. This Jeep has many upgrades including a later model Jeep front axle with Disc Brakes and Lock Out Hubs. It has a low gear ratio, which gives it good power for climbing hills and trail adventures, but it would not be considered a freeway driver vehicle. Also features Power Brakes, Power Steering, and modern HEI ignition system. The engine is the factory 3.7 liter (225 cubic inch) V6 engine, stock configuration for reliability. This Jeep also has the upgraded 4 speed manual transmission, which is better than the original 3 speed, and the clutch is strong. Refinished interior, including interior paint, refinished seats in durable black canvas, refinished dash pad also black canvas, and aftermarket gauges including; tachometer, oil pressure, temperature, vacuum, and electrical. The gauges were installed in the factory panel, there is no speedometer, the Jeep is no land speed record racer so it hasn't been an issue for us. The half cab top has been coated in a durable bedliner material and is removable with a number of bolts and nuts, in the original factory manner, top has been weatherstripped and gasketed, and there is a steel cargo roof rack installed on the top. The bed area has a custom black canvas tonneau cover which installs with metal snaps along the bed rail. There is a radio head unit and speakers but the radio is not currently operational. Tailgate is fully functional, and the rear is finished with a custom built steel bumper with a trailer hitch. The Jeep starts easily, runs well, and draws attention wherever it goes. For Sale 1968 Jeep Commando freshly restored, super clean inside and out. This Jeep has the CJ5 front clip conversion, which gives it more of the traditional Jeep look. It has the 3.8 liter 225 cubic inch V6 and manual transmission, runs and drives well. It has high back Jeep wrangler seats, front seats have sliders, front passenger folds forward, rear seats folds down and folds forward. It has new 16" Ion wheels, matte black and machined finish and 305-70-16 (33x12.50-16) Toyo MT tires which are about 50% or better tread. The radio does not work, and there is a tow bar installed on the front bumper. We do have and are not including a top with the Jeep, we don't have one, it has always been stored in our garage. The next owner can modify as they choose, add a roll cage and a soft top, or find and install a factory hard top. This Jeep has much more room than a CJ5, and would make a great beach cruiser, dune rider, or just to have up your cabin for hunting and fishing.
