(Private seller) Chance to own a beautiful iconic low miles classic/vintage Sir William Lyons Jaguar XJ40 / XJ6 Vanden Plas. 1994 is the first XJ model year with major engineering modifications from Ford Lincoln Motor Co., the last XJ built with design input from Jaguar's co-founder Sir Williams Lyons; the first Jaguar with airbags (and the only XJ40 with airbags); the last and most reliable XJ40 model year ever built, according to Car and Driver. Ford Lincoln Motor Co. addressed common XJ40 issues, such as door handle malfunctions. The car appears in a forthcoming Happy Madison feature film (2017). Drives great, engine sounds good. Interior, like the exterior, looks great . . . Pirelli tires on their way out, maybe 3-5K miles left. 'Refrigeration' system works on high setting only, needs attention. There's a rattle from the left front quarter on bumps--needs professional evaluation.The plastic faux wood face of the ashtray (center console), and that of the upper sunroof/reading light console, are cracked The interior headliner should be replaced--it's clean but sags just a bit above the back seat (I've temporarily stapled to keep from sagging--looks fine; fix = about $500). Exterior: Few dings and minor scratches; there is one dent under the rear bumper on the small lower panel; estimates provided.This car is potentially/almost a showpiece, as well as a convenient every day car. The paint is original, looks good--some blemishes. All hoses and belts replaced this year. Inspected from bow to stern less than a year ago, everything looks good--brakes, transmission, etc. Smog good in CA through early 2017. Garaged. High quality water proof cover included. Really fun car that I need to get rid of due to space constraints, but then I'll drive it and try to find a way to find space for it. But in it really does have to go. Runs and starts fine otherwise. Battery should stay on a maintainer if it is not driven often. Otherwise in pretty good condition consistent for its age--clear coat is cracked and faded and there are some shallow dents. Power windows/sunroof and mirrors work, A/C blows but is not cold and there is a button to adjust the driver's seat height that does not work. Nardi Torino steering wheel. A little ripping in the leather interior front passenger seat. I am not able to get it to pass smog in California, so only as-is for California buyers (also would require back registration to bring it current). Many states do not have smog requirements or allow cars older than 25 to be exempt, so check before buying. Will deliver in the Los Angeles area otherwise buyer is responsible for transport. Comes with the original manuals and paperwork. Has a CD player and connector for iPhone 4 (plus an adapter to the lightning iPhone 5/6 input). -New alternator (2012)-New fuel pump (2013)-Head Gasket (2010)-Replaced Transmission (2009) I took a video of a cold start (about one week sitting without being on the battery maintainer). Selling our 1992 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas Majestic. We have had it for a few years and don't really drive it much. We acquired it from a private seller which basically had it "garaged". We have only put about 5,000 miles on it since acquiring it -- has 40,186 original miles on it. This Jaguar drives very nice, quiet and serene -- a very luxurious vehicle. It is not given the use it deserves and we no longer have the space to safely garage/store it. It has been meticulously maintained and cared for. Very clean interior. Back seats don't look like they have ever been sat on. Smoke free environment. The exterior is good to very good, there is a slight ding on the right rear door. This particular model is a limited edition, one of 250 made for the U.S.A. in this particular color "Black Cherry" -- you can read about this in Jaguar forums.....A very glamorous vehicle that drives like a gem. Fluted chrome grill, suspension control from sport to comfort, headlamp washer, front lft and right heated power seats, sheepskin floor mats, alloy brass color rims, Pirelli P4000 tires, power sun roof, all ivory/tan interior, power radio antenna. Please see pictures to appreciate this vehicles' features such as rear seat fold down picnic tables, and rear window roll up shades.
