1957 Ford Thunderbird Stock# 2149-08 Dennis Buys Classic Cars is pleased to offer this immaculate 1957 Ford Thunderbird. It lived its entire life in inland Southern California. As a result we could not find one speck of rust. The owner of the car passed away and we purchased it from the son who found Dennis Buys Classic Cars by doing a Google search for "Sell My Classic Thunderbird". It is completely original with no modifications. It has all the desirable options: Both tops, with the soft top being brand new, 312 245HP motor, Automatic transmission, Power Steering, Power Windows, Town and Country radio and Power Seats. Body and paint are darn near flawless and chrome is excellent. We have clear title in hand. This is a list of the work we did on it and car will come with all receipts: Valve job, new carburetor (original will be included in the sale), complete new exhaust, battery, chrome air cleaner, much re-chroming, weatherstripping, new gas tank w/sending unit, oil sending unit, all fluids/filters, oil pump, fuel pump, starter, brake hoses, plugs-points-wires, power steering pump. The car runs beautifully. It fires right goes down the road straight with no clunks or rattles and does not get hot. It is a joy to drive and attracts attention wherever you go. We have put about two hundred miles on it since we tidied it up without a single mishap. This is a 1967 Ford Thunderbird. I bought it from a shop that was restoring it, but went out of business. The engine is the 7.0 liter, big block 428. Most of these came with 390's, so the 428 is pretty rare. The engine was freshly rebuilt when I bought it, and has done less thin 500 miles since. It warms up very nicely and runs strong. The car recently had the suspension gone through and restored. At this time I also added front and rear anti-sway bars. The clock is a new old stock piece and works, but has been disconnected. It has supplementary gauges for oil, temperature and battery. New fuel gauge sending unit, custom auto sound radio with remote control and new speakers (in original spots). Car had just finished a full repaint when I bought it. Paint is Wimbledon white with a black painted top. Black stripes are on top of the clear coat, so it should be easily removable. Tires are brand new, new battery, remote control for door locks. Electric windows and seat work well, trunk is clean with spare tire and jack. Headlight doors work, and the electrical system has been recently gone through, including all new dash bulbs and rear sequential tail lights have been sorted out. Air conditioner and heater blow, but A/C does not get cold. Everything seems to work (and the compressor was replaced just before I bought it), so probably just needs a charge. Chrome and trim are all good as well. Even the swing away steering wheel and idiot lights work. Steering box was rebuilt when suspension was gone through recently. Fuel lines and vacuum lines are new and car has been recently tuned. The car has a clean California title, currently PNO. Dash has a single crack, and has been covered with a vinyl cover. Steering wheel is wrapped and the car has brand new custom floor mats. Carpet kit is new, as is the foam in the drivers power seat. Door panels are in good shape, although the carpet on the bottoms needs trimming. No problems, clunking or banging, although the rubber on the motor mounts is cracking. Has day-night rear view mirror and remote driver side mirror. Interior is very nice black, with a small (less than a dime) poke hole in the headliner. So much has been done on it, it is hard for me to keep track. I have receipts for the work that has been done since I bought it. I will be including pictures in the next few days, but I am not a great photographer. I am happy to talk about the car to your heart's content, and will even consider a trade (maybe). HISTORY : Built and delivered in November 1962. Original California car since new. Original yellow-on-black California license plates. Car was a daily driver from new until 1977. It was placed in storage from 1977 until early 1991, when the original owner made it road-worthy again. I purchased the car in running condition from the original owner in Hawthorne, California in September 1991. Rebuilt components include Engine, Transmission, Driveshaft, front and rear Suspensions. Speedometer, Clock (Quartz-converted). Replaced items include all engine electrical components, Rear Leaf Springs, front and rear seat upholstery, headliner, carpet, interior door panels, trunk liner, underhood insulation.
