2004 Ford Excursion XLT V10 4x4 Nine Seater with Grey Cloth Interior. Original Non-Smoking Owner & Passengers. Purchased in October 2003 when I lived in Pennsylvania to drive my large family in (I have seven children.). There was nothing bigger that I cared for so I knew day one I would have this for quite some time and took very good care of it. This version has the 4.30 ratio rear so it can tow 10,000 lbs. I planned on getting a travel trailer and camping, however the wife had other ideas of how to vacation - in nice time shares and suites so the most it has towed was a 600 lbs aluminum trailer and some pellets for my pellet stove for a few months in the winter when we lived up north. Garage Kept until I moved to Florida about four-five years ago then it has been under a car port when not being used daily. It has about 215,000 miles but is in very nice condition for its age and was meticulously maintained. I have a ton of service records and I used 5W-20 Mobil One advanced full synthetic oil and haven't had any troubles with the engine. Multiple Genuine Ford transmission fluid and transmission filter changes and Genuine Ford Coolant Changes. Replaced the plugs with Genuine Ford Plugs. The coil packs have been replaced with a lifetime warranty version at Auto Zone. The technical bulletin procedure for the air conditioner was done. The engine still runs so very smooth. They stopped making the original tires that came with it, and I recently purchased new Michelin tires from Costco and they run wonderfully quieter than the original tires. If you aren't familiar with Costco's customer service then you should get to know them, they are the best place to buy anything. Carpets and seats up front are good but the back seats and carpets need some deep cleaning love. They don't have any rips or tears and neither does the headliner. Great condition for its age, of course it is used so it has various tiny stone chips and some small scratches, rust spots but none of these goes completely through the metal. Please examine all the photos and read the description before bidding.Replaced AM/FM Stock Radio with a nice Kenwood CD-Player so does not use Cassettes anymore but does allow for input of USB and Aux inputs for iphones etc. Many other purchased items have lifetime warranties through Auto Zone and Advanced Auto (brake pads, shocks, etc). 2001 Ford Excursion Diesel 4x4 7.3 Diesel The Ford Excursion is the King of the SUVs and the 7.3 diesel is one of the most sought after in the history of diesel engines. Production of the Ford Excursion ended in 2005. The 7.3 engine was installed in the Excursion until 2003 when the change in EPA standards ended its production. This is a 2001 Ford Excursion XLT 7.3 Diesel Built in Kentucky in March 2001. I have had this truck since March 2013 with the intention of keeping it for a long time to come as you can see by the amount of work and care I have put into it. A change in circumstance has brought about a change in my needs. I have driven this truck cross country and up and down the east coast several times and it has never let me down. It tows well and performs well towing or traveling on its own. It is equipped with a hitch and trailer brake control. While towing I typically get @10 MPG and alone @15 MPG highway, I have gotten as high as 17 MPG. It is currently set up with a futon bed and large tool box in the back. Cons - typical dings and wear for a 14 year old vehicle with 210k miles Drivers side rear door window does not operate from rear door switch (switch tested and working), it does operate from master control on drivers door it has rust on the rocker panels, typical Ford location, most of the rust is on the backside of the rockers - LMC does sell patch panels sold as is where is, no warranties Both - @210k miles, a lot of miles for a vehicle but not for a 7.3 diesel, these motors are known for longevity and 400-500k miles isn't unusual, even then a rebuild and on the road for another 500k XLT with 40/20/40 front seat, the console in this gen Super Duty was horrible, the fold over middle seat is a better option. XLT means no DVD or automatic climate control, less aging electronics to worry about Pros - 4x4 PW, PDL, extendable heated and remote towing mirrors, cruise, ac/heat front and rear, 9 passenger National air ride seat with heat (driver side, a $1k upgrade) Firestone airbags on rear Currently has 4 drawer tool box with large drawers and a futon on top for taking a nap on those long trips Comes with stock driver’s seat and third row seat I use diesel treatment in the fuel every 2-3 fill ups to keep the lines and injectors clean book of maintenance history since I have had the vehicle Recent Work done: Batteries (now has yellow top optimas, $500 in batteries alone!) water pump upper and lower radiator hose thermostat belt front brakes and rotors steering stabilizer tie rod ends alignment driver's side exhaust manifold complete transmission flush and service with the correct oil (it is a common mistake to use the wrong fluid) oil change complete cooling system flush serviced with proper coolant and distilled water (it is common mistake to use the wrong coolant, distilled water is best - very few impurities) Rebuilt, upgraded and balanced turbo with mechanical waste gate EBPV delete, done with kit so no internals causing problems (new turbo exhaust outlet, new turbo pedestal) New turbo up pipes new turbo hoses Power Hungry Performance Hydra Chip up to 17 positions, up to 140hp, multiple tuning options, and a digital display PDL motors replaced (all front 4 doors) 2005 super duty grill and headlights front hitch 2001 Excursion Information - Excerpt from web site: Excursion’s maximum power goes even higher in 2001. Horse-power on the 7.3L Power Stroker turbo diesel V-8 engine has been increased to 250 and torque has been increased to 505 lb.-ft. Excursion can tow up to 10,000 lbs. when properly equipped, which is a huge advantage for people with large boats, motor-homes and trailers. Excursion’s engines deliver impressive power, with high torque at low rpm. That means Excursion’s pulling power is available at lower speeds – an important factor in towing. Excursion’s 4R100 4-speed automatic transmission also improves towing, especially on hilly terrain. It has an automatic tow-haul feature that uses a computer module to help adjust transmission shift patterns for hills, changes in altitude or when towing heavy loads. Cleanest Excursion you will find! I am the second owner of this beautiful truck. I purchased it in May of 2002 with 17,000 miles. This truck has been in FLORIDA its whole life! NO RUST!!! Prior owner purchased new from Melbourne Ford. For the entire 13 years I have owned this truck it has been garage kept. The truck has tons of custom touches, however it is done in such a way as the truck looks custom but not over done. I still get compliments every time I drive the Excursion. As everyone knows Excursions are extremely popular and have not been made in 10 years, finding Excursions in good condition is getting Harder and harder. Drive train, Motor, Tranny, ect is 100% stock, from the air filter to the exhaust nothing has been changed or modified. Excursion was painted in 2006 when the 2005 front end was put on, Paint color is a deviation of the OEM color, only it was darkened a few shades and had more metallic added for a deeper custom look. The front end consists of all OEM Ford parts with exception of Street Scenes bumper cover, grill, and grill inserts. Headlights, bumper, header panel are all OEM Ford 2005 parts, no modifications were done this is a bolt out swap. While the truck was painted all the Excursion badges were removed and holes filled in for a smooth clean look. There is no chrome on the exterior or the truck. The rear bumper is OEM, mirrors are OEM 2002 style all exterior plastic parts that used to be matte black were sand blasted and painted to match truck. The body looks straight and the paint looks good overall, but it does show some dings, scratches, etc. The tires are a match set with 35% left tread. There are no cracks in the windshield, but it does show some typical road wear. It has the typical scratches/dings/dents/rock chips that you'd expect, that are consistent with age and use on a 2000 SUV, but it still has an overall nice look.I upgraded also the headlights and grill and 22" Status Rims.Please look over many pictures and shoot me an email if you have any questions or would like to see it.INTERIORThe interior of this XLT is in overall not bad shape. The leather shows sign of use overall (wear and blems here and there). The driver's seats is the worst one regarding the overall leather shape. The carpets are in shape overall, but do show some blems (please always refer to the pics for a better idea). The AC is new (compressor and evaporator) blows super cold. It has the typical light scuffs, blems, etc. that you'd expect on a used vehicle, but it still has an overall good look. Please take the time to look through many pictures that I posted.MECHANICSThis V10 starts right up and idles fine and has good power and acceleration and drives straight down the road. Brakes feel good since I upgraded with drilled rotors and ceramic pads.
