VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: This is a 1928 Ford Model A Two Door Sport Coupe equipped with: 201 CI Four Cylinder Ford Engine 3 Speed Transmission Tan Sport Top Manual Choke Black Powder Coated Original Wire Wheels This 1928 Ford Model A Two Door Sport Coupe starts with ease and sounds as smooth as a sewing machine. The three speed transmission shifts gently into gear and the car just puts right down the road! This 1928 Sport Coupe is in excellent, restored condition. Rarely driven and always stored in a climate controlled building by the previous owner, the paint, chrome and mechanicals continue to be as outstanding as when the rotisserie restoration was completed nearly 20 years ago. While it has not been previously campaigned, this Model A remains an excellent AACA candidate! The undercarriage, floorpans, frame, and frame braces are all in excellent condition, with no rust. The paint and chrome remain in excellent condition with no cracking or checking. The original motor looks as it did over 80 years ago and runs super! The interior including the seats, carpet, headliner, and door panels are all in excellent condition. The dash and all gauges are all in working order from the fuel gauge to the dash light. It's nearly impossible to stress the stunning, unmolested condition of this Model A! As the first year for the Model A, this Sport Coupe is an excellent example of an original car and would make a great addition to any collection! Please take the time to study the photos below to verify this vehicle's condition. I welcome any and all questions about this car, its restoration, and current condition. Featuring the original factory steel body, this exquisite Roadster has a chassis fabricated out of tubular three-inch pipes with a suicide front end, a 122-inch wheelbase, and 4 inch dropped axle. Each mount has been steel molded to perfection. The rear end is from a 1955 Chevy, while the engine is a 1958 Chevy 348. The grille was fabricated from a 1928 Rolls Royce with custom front fenders, designed to emphasize the unique styling of the late 1920s Rolls Royce. The Spirit of Ecstasy, also known as the Flying Lady Rolls Royce hood ornament is made of solid sterling silver and features her in the iconic standing position, a rare find as in 1934 she was changed to a kneeling pose. The original Rolls Royce emblem on the front of the grille is a shade of red, another interesting find as it is most often seen in black. Yes, each original one is a rare sight because it was not turned into a hot rod, but there were extraordinary Deluxe models that had a more regal appearance. And with the excellent color combination and condition of this 1931 example, it's hard to find a better way to experience vintage motoring. The Model A was the Ford Motor Company's dive into style, and the 40-B Deluxe roadster like this one was one of the best ways they showed it. This starts with the two-tone blue lacquer paint that looks great while still appearing period-correct. This shade is the perfect complementing color for the yellow wheels, and part of what makes it a Deluxe model are the spares mounted in each fender. But this one even get the derails right like the yellow pinstriping that matches the wheel color (and Model A people know good ones have this.) The rear folding luggage rack is made of wood with a chrome surround. If you like that brightwork, the Deluxe model not only came with the classic bumpers and grille that make the Model As iconic, but also the Deluxe's exclusive sports-style windshield has great-looking chrome plating. Peek inside and you'll see the seats and door panels have been restored in a great looking and durable brown leather. The exterior color scheme continues on this dashboard, including the pinstriping. All the gauges in the bright center panel look great, and more importantly, work perfectly. The driver gets the classic four-spoke steering wheel on a column that has been upgraded with a turn signal lever. This is the ideal sunny day friend, and if you have more than one companion on your ambling road trips, there's even a rumble seat upholstered to match the front seats. When you open the hood, you'll see a very honest and correct 200 cubic-inch Ford four-cylinder motor. But then you look a little closer and keen eyes will spot the alternator that allows for better reliability and brighter lighting. This motor is all about torque, and so it gives a rhythmic chug that feels like being in charge of a mini locomotive as the tempo increases with the acceleration. When you're driving with the top down on a country road, this makes an industrial symphony of simplicity. The three-speed manual transmission shifts cleanly with a quick double-clutch and the brakes are effective for a vehicle with modest performance and light weight. So, in total, this classic Ford is still a fun runabout. Every inch of this Model A Deluxe is an authentic and interesting roadster that makes you want to drive to every car show. It's turnkey ready to transport your senses to a bygone era. They can be appreciated by nearly anyone no matter mechanical skill or financial ability. This 1928 is the perfect example an affordable classic that chugs down the road with ease and gets smiles wherever it goes. The tudor sedan is one of the best ways to enjoy the Model A. The fully enclosed cabin is part of what really made this one a leap over the Tin Lizzy, but it does not lose its iconic presence that symbolizes the dawn of the automotive age. The two-tone green and black makes this one look as sweet as mint candy. The reason why this appears especially nice in the sunlight is because it has recently been painted these colors that are bright enough to bring the 1920s alive again. You can really can tell the level of professionalism used in restoring the exterior when you see the details like the yellow pinstripe in the door line and the excellent condition of the vinyl roof. All the doors shut with confidence, and the wire wheels are complete, so the fundamentals are covered on this Model A. But what will really make people take notice are the great details like the all the correct brightwork, sun visor, and luggage rack hanging off the rear. Open the door and you'll see the seats, door panels, and headliner have been refreshed recently with a great looking and durable tan vinyl. Everything feels authentic from the classic four-spoke steering wheel to the bright instrument panel. There's even interior lighting to keep you going at dusk. No one has tried to ruin this time machine with aftermarket parts like air conditioning. Instead, this thoroughly correct interior means raising the front windshield and rolling down the side windows to get your ventilation the way your family did a few generations ago. When you get under the hood, Ford's 200 cubic inch four cylinder engine looks amazingly correct and authentic. This motor is all about torque, and the over-achieving little machine makes a distinctive sound that's been beloved for generations. It happily pulls this tutor around without working too hard and cruises at 45 MPH, so it's not a problem on modern surface streets. The three-speed manual transmission shifts cleanly with a quick double-clutch and the brakes are effective for a vehicle with modest performance and light weight. So, in total, this 85+ year-old is still a fun runabout. This is the car you cherish because you like to be connected with a bygone era. It's an affordable, fun, and above all, honest Model A just wanting for you to take it home.
