Big horsepower, no roof, and a minimum of creature comforts, it was the modern embodiment of the original Cobra. This 1994 Viper, like many of its kind, has been cherished by its owner and remains a monument to an era when Chrysler reinvented itself on the back of the snake. There's probably nobody on the road who doesn't recognize this nasty black Viper as something remarkable. The swoopy body was rendered in various plastics, not aluminum like the Cobra, but the resemblance is definitely there. Perhaps there are only so many ways to clothe a giant engine and a minimalist chassis. Anyway, the long hood, short deck look totally works here and has been washed and waxed so carefully throughout its life that it still has a showroom shine. Sure, it's been driven, but only 45,397 miles, and there is no evidence of abuse or track use anywhere on the car. Even things like the chin spoiler and rocker panels remain in good order with very little road rash, and if this car has ever seen rain, I'd be shocked. Black paint is always hard to maintain, but this one shines up beautifully and really shows off the clean lines of the early Viper with a minimum of styling add-ons and no stripes. It's just brutal. Inside, the minimalist approach paid serious dividends with a pair of deeply bolstered buckets and only the essentials. By 1994 A/C was an option, and it's included on this car, but other than that, if it didn't make the car go faster, it was not available. The leather driver's seat shows minor signs of wear, but no damage or even scuffs on the side bolsters where they take the most abuse. The wide center console straddles the 6-speed manual transmission, and the instruments are all individually nestled into their own round openings in the dash. The original stereo was a cheesy off-the-shelf Chrysler piece, so it's been upgraded to an Alpine AM/FM/CD unit that sounds worlds better thanks to two amplifiers and a trio of thundering subwoofers in the trunk, and it can be heard even over the sound of the side pipes. There are, of course, no windows, but the toupee-like top and side curtains are included, and they've probably never been used, which is how it should be. The Viper's whole reason for existing in the first place was to showcase Chrysler's new V10 truck engine. Never mind that the all-aluminum engine in the Viper didn't share even one component with the truck lump and that the work was farmed out to Lamborghini instead. The net result is a torque monster that catapults the roadster forward at any speed, in any gear. The bright red intake manifold is a work of art all by itself, and the spotless engine bay is more proof of a dedicated and conscientious owner. The chassis looks like a fabricated piece, which it pretty much was, but it came built for combat with an A-arm suspension and massive disc brakes at all four corners. The mechanicals are virtually bulletproof and have demonstrated over the years that Chrysler over-engineered their halo car because they knew nobody would be taking it easy with the loud pedal. This one wears chrome wheels from a later model and suitable Michelin 17-inch performance radials, which were as big as tires got in 1994. The Viper is still the king of the hill, and even after 20 years, this one will still break hearts. It's a one-owner original car with just 33,552 actual miles, a fantastic color combination, and a great-running 340 cubic inch V8. If you like them untouched, this one should really get you excited. You may as well get a high-impact color on your Mopar muscle, because that's one of their most defining features. This one wears its original FY1 Top Banana Yellow, which is shockingly well preserved. Thanks to an owner who has always cherished the car and treated it as something of value, the paint looks incredible. Sure, there are a few minor signs of age and maybe a touch-up here and there, but the overall presentation is exactly what you want from a top-grade survivor. Chrysler got the look exactly right with their A-body siblings and the Challenger ideally embodies the long hood/short deck profile that just screams high performance. Most Challengers in 1970 were like this, no spoilers or blacked-out hoods, making it refreshing in its honesty, although there are a set of '340 Magnum' emblems on the twin nostril hood and a black bumble bee stripe on the tail. As a result, I'm afraid you're just not going to be able to keep a low profile with this car. The front and rear bumpers are in excellent shape and so is the tinted windshield, and it's all original. The black interior is also completely original and in good shape. The seat covers and carpets are showing their age, with a few splits in the driver's chair, but the door panels, console, and dash pad are really quite nice. Simulated wood covers the console and instrument panel and looks quite convincing on the steering wheel, and for a convertible, it's pretty impressive that nothing is significantly faded or cracked. All the gauges are fully operational and have bright, crisp markings that belie their age. The original AM radio is still in the dash, and yes, it works! Overhead, the original black top uses the Chrysler exclusive long-grain vinyl that's almost impossible to replicate today, and remarkably, it has no splits or tears and the glass rear window is in great shape. The trunk is also neatly finished with the original mat and what appears to be the original space-saver spare tire with jack and inflator bottle. Cool! Not a big block screamer, but I think you'll be impressed by the way the original, numbers-matching 340 cubic inch V8 runs. As a low-mileage car, it has obviously never been opened up and the factory Hemi Orange paint still looks fantastic. Aside from a little fading and a few greasy parts, it's shockingly clean, evidence of decades of careful maintenance by a fastidious owner. It starts easily, idles well, and believe it or not, those are even the original hoses! Talk about authenticity! Power steering makes it easy to handle and the TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission powers an 8.75-inch rear end, which is showcased by a spotless undercarriage that's never seen snowy weather. Factory Rallye wheels wear 245/60/15 Goodyear radials that are likely only the second set of tires this car has ever worn. Fully documented with the original invoice, title documentation, and owner's manual, this is an incredibly well-preserved original car, the kind you'll never have the chance to own again. If you love original, untouched cars, this one is a slam dunk. Freshly built with just 3 miles on the clock (yep, you read that right), it has been pumped up with a great-running 340, a rebuilt TorqueFlite, and a great paint job that is both subtle and sophisticated. This cool Dart has had a lot of time and money invested to transform it into the gorgeous Demon you see today. 100% rust-free from the start, it was given a full repaint inside and out in the correct GF3 Medium Green by a bunch of guys who clearly knew what they were doing. The finish is dazzling in the sunlight, where the gold undertones of the paint really sparkle, and correct reproduction Demon graphics and stripes were installed at the same time. Factory hood scoops were part of the package (this is a Chrysler muscle car, after all), giving it an aggressive look that will have competitors thinking twice about tangling with this Dart. Correct Demon badges were fitted, and all the chrome and stainless was shined up. There was simply nothing else on the road in 1971 that could compare to a Demon, especially at the price, and it remains true today. Inside, an all-new two-tone green interior was supplied by Legendary and helps bolster the Demon's no-frills street cred. The two-tone upholstery gives it an upscale look, and the rubber floor coverings promise zero maintenance. Glancing at the fender tag, this car was just about as stripped as you could get, although the original owner did specify an AM radio, which remains in the dash. Standard equipment included a pretty comprehensive array of gauges, and an aftermarket A/C setup hangs under the dash, so it looks like it might have been installed by the dealer back in '71. Everything remains in excellent condition, and it's clear that someone really loved this car. No frills, but that was entirely the point of the Demon, and you can easily see how it would be able to catch people unaware. A glance at the fender tag will tell you that this was originally a six-cylinder car, but today there's a built 340 under the hood, and it was built to rock. Finished to look highly authentic, the engine wears proper Hemi Orange paint, and the crinkle finish on the air cleaner and cast aluminum valve covers looks suitably butch. A 4-barrel carburetor feeds the strong-running small block and a set of shorty headers manage exhaust, and there's nothing like the ripping snarl of a highly-wound small block to attract attention. Underneath, the recent restoration is very apparent, as there's no trace of rust or rot anywhere on the chassis and it's beautifully detailed with new parts everywhere you look. The TorqueFlite automatic was rebuilt and feeds an 8.75-inch rear end. It wears cool 15-inch aluminum wheels that look straight out of the pages of Hot Rod magazine and they wear staggered 205/65/15 front and 225/60/15 rear performance radials. With a new-found emphasis on performance and economy, this Demon is the right muscle car for our times. You also won't find a nicer one, because someone spent way out of proportion to the sticker price to make this one of the best. With a sleek aerodynamic look, wonderful art-deco styling details, and modern V8 horsepower, it's one of those awesome rods that will stand out just by virtue of being something other than a Ford. The bright red paint certainly helps this one grab everyone's attention, but it's the detailing that will make them look closer. The sleek Dodge sedan has a unique look that was similar to the fastback styling from the other automakers, but the long wheelbase and sleek tail section make it look far more radical than most. Finish quality is quite good, with nice body gaps and a bright shine that can only come from a lot of time invested in buffing and polishing the final finish. Most of the original trim was retained, and it really sparkles against that Torch Red paint. We're particularly fond of the front end, which offers neat details like the dipped front bumper, familiar ram hood ornament, and a very cool grille that seems to reach back to the firewall. Add in a host of vents, speed lines, and stainless trim, and the whole car seems to be in motion like one of those old paintings showing cars at speed. We love the split rear window and it appears that the only notable items that aren't stock are the LED taillights, which are shaped like those on a '39 Ford. The handsome tan leather interior is beautifully finished. Up front you get a pair of power bucket seats from a late-model, while the back seat appears to be borrowed from the same car. New carpets, simple perforated leather door panels, and a custom center console all add to the new car feel. The original dash has been upgraded with a set of very trick Dolphin gauges with green faces, and the 9886 miles shown are since the build was completed. Under the dash there are vents for the A/C system as well as a few secondary controls, while the AM/FM/CD head unit is discreetly tucked into the center console. A B&M shifter on the transmission tunnel manages a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and the tilt column is topped by a fat 4-spoke wheel. And the whole reason you buy a sedan is so you can take the whole family with you, and the giant fully upholstered trunk makes it easy. A familiar 350 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 lives under the pointed hood and it was rebuilt to stock specs when the car was built. It's got some chrome dress-up pieces, a polished intake, and a big 4-barrel carburetor, all of which work together to make it run great and look cool. A big aluminum radiator and R134a refrigerant in the A/C system make it a trusted highway cruiser for long hauls and service access is pretty good. Power front disc brakes and power steering come complements of a Camaro subframe and the dual Flowmasters give it a wonderfully mellow exhaust note. A 10-bolt rear end with 3.73 gears inside makes the car feel lively around town, but they're easily tamed by the overdrive gear in the transmission. It's got just the right rake, augmented by a set of flashy Ridlr and 17-inch performance radials. Nicely documented with receipts and build photos, this handsome Dodge stands out both in terms of quality and rarity. Why do what everyone else is doing when the alternative looks this good? I'll wager that the original buyer paid well over sticker price to own it, because it represented the rebirth of a legend. If there's a late-model Challenger that will be collectable in the future, it's probably one like this: early car, beautifully maintained, completely stock. The bright Hemi Orange paint with carbon-fiber-look stripes was a combination right off the show car that debuted in 2006. The carbon wasn't real, of course, but this was the car every Mopar guy wanted to own as they impatiently counted down the days until it was available in the showroom. This one has lived a good life but hasn't been tucked away, which can have its own set of issues. Instead, it shows just 32,728 original miles, so you know it's been a fair-weather toy, not a daily driver. The finish is in good condition with a few signs of age and use, but there's just no mistaking the intent of a car that looks like this. It was built to drive. The look as aged quite well and you'll surely find that everyone still stops to watch this Challenger drive by. The chin spoiler isn't all beat up by steep driveway aprons, the rockers haven't been blasted by debris, and you knew everyone's going to dig the HEMI badges on the hood. Add in a set of chrome exhaust tips, subtle SRT8 badging, and a surprisingly modest deck lid spoiler and you end up with one of the most successful pony car rebirths of the modern era. The SRT8 showcased everything Chrysler could do for a driver, and based on the 300's platform, it's a lot more spacious than you'd expect. The deeply bolstered black leather seats have grippy inserts and an orange stripe, and only the driver's seat shows any wear. You also got a fat steering wheel, big, round gauges with racy electro-luminescent faces, and a quick-shifting automatic transmission. Of course, on the flagship, everything was standard, including A/C, power windows, locks, seats, and mirrors, cruise control, and a cool touch screen entertainment system with navigation. This one also offers an optional sunroof, which is a somewhat rare option, and the seats are heated, which makes a big difference on cool mornings. Everything works, there are no issues, and you can get in this car today and drive to California if you'd like. That's the power of modern technology. By this point, the 6.1 liter HEMI V8 really needs no introduction. For the SRT8, they punched it out a bit to add the kind of low-end torque muscle car fans expect, and not even a vintage 426 Hemi could keep up with it. These cars are insanely popular and easy to modify, but this one remains completely stock, which is always what you want when you're buying a high-performance machine. The engine bay is tidy, highlighting the taller 6.1 aluminum intake and black coil covers, and you can see that it's never done a commute in the winter weather. It starts quickly, idles properly, and has the kind of big torque that most folks can't understand until they've driven a car like this. The transmission bangs off quick shifts when you're hustling but is unobtrusive when you're going easy, and the suspension is remarkably livable given its insanely high limits. Big Brembo disc brakes keep it safe and the factory alloy wheels and 255/45/20 Continental tires are in excellent condition. Still an apex predator, this Challenger offers a lot of performance for a very reasonable price. The recipient of a documented, cost-no-object frame-off restoration, it's not only beautiful, but packs a stout 340 under the hood, a bunch of creature comforts like cold A/C, and a classic old-school look that Mopar fans will love. Trucks were getting a lot more modern-looking in 1971, but the Dodge retained its old look, and with the hindsight that the decades have brought us, it makes for a really attractive pickup. The bright Seafoam Green paint with a white roof is a period-perfect combination and the finish work is show-quality throughout. The truck was fully disassembled, the cab was removed from the frame, and every inch of metal that needed to be fixed or straightened was treated properly. Panel gaps are exacting, the big hood fits tight, and the finish is deep enough to look right on a show-winning Cadillac, not just a vintage pickup. The white grille up front is an old-school look that works exceptionally well on the D13 and all the weather seals are new, so it closes up tightly. There's a polished tool box in the bed, which is home to a modern fuel cell, and the floor is diamond-plate, although we're pretty sure this truck is just too pretty to do any heavy hauling these days. At first glance, you're probably thinking that's a nicely restored stock interior, and you're partly right. The bench seat and body-colored door panels are pretty much the way it came from the factory, but look again at the stitching on the seat, the handsome four-spoke steering wheel on a tilt column, and the under-dash A/C unit. The factory gauges are handsome laid out in a long panel that should look familiar to any Mopar fan, with a tach neatly installed in the dash just to the right. A Sony AM/FM/CD stereo head unit slots into the dash and sounds great in the newly insulated cab, and just check out how bright the courtesy lights are, something you almost never see. Everything in the truck is show quality and the attention to detail is very impressive. A 340 cubic inch V8 was rebuilt and dropped between the fenders, giving this pickup the moves of a muscle car. It's got less than 500 miles on the build and with a 4-barrel carburetor (although it's plumbed up to the engine bay should one want to switch to a fuel injected set-up) and a decent cam inside, it's plenty potent to move the pickup without apparent effort. It's beautifully detailed, too, with the bright Hemi Orange engine glowing from within the turquoise engine bay and all the ancillary parts wear factory-style finishes. A reproduction decal on the air cleaner looks right and niceties such as power steering and brakes have been added to make it easy to drive. You'll note a giant aluminum radiator up front, all-new A/C components with R134a refrigerant, and beautifully refinished exhaust manifolds. It's backed by a TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic and an 8.75-inch rear end with 3.25 gears inside, so it's easy to live with and doesn't get busy on the highway. The chassis is fully restored and is beautifully framed by the body-colored floors. There's also a coil spring front suspension, disc brakes, new exhaust, and fresh shocks, plus a full-sized spare hanging out back. The stance was tweaked just a bit and you've probably already noticed the custom-made wheels with dog dish hubcaps and trim rings, designed for slightly wider 235/75/15 front and 31x10.5R15 rear Toyo blackwall radials. If you want the nicest D13, heck, one of the nicest pickups of any kind we've ever featured, this is it. Fully documented with receipts and photos, it's every bit as nice as you think it is. Born of the same Trans-Am racing series that created the Boss 302 and Z28, the T/A was Dodge's entry, capable of ferocious speeds, both on the straights and in the twisties. This stunning B5 Blue 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A hits all the high notes, including matching-numbers, Six Pack induction, and a rotisserie restoration. A high-visibility car like this means you have some pretty serious hardware underneath, because there's no way you're going to sneak around unnoticed in this one. Complete with the blacked-out hood with that giant snorkel, side exhaust, and a wicked ducktail spoiler, there's little doubt that this looks the part of a race car. Beautifully finished with exceptional attention to detail, this Challenger certainly looks fast even when it's sitting still. There's a great deal of money invested in the restoration of this car and it shows everywhere you look, from the laser-straight bodywork to the deep finish on the two-stage urethane paint. Correct black T/A stripes were applied along the flanks, along with the requisite '340 Six Pack' decal on the front fender, just in case the bright blue paint and snorkel on the hood weren't enough advertising. Other correct details include the racing style flip-up gas cap, sport mirrors, and a T/A badge on the rear spoiler. Chrome bumpers have been expertly refinished and hood pins always suggest a lot of horsepower living underneath, and this car doesn't disappoint in that regard, either. The black bucket seat interior is the right choice with B5 Blue, giving it a purposeful, all-business look that seems appropriate given the car's racetrack credentials. There's a woodgrained console surrounding the "Slap Stick" shifter, which is remarkably easy to use as intended, and the woodgrained three-spoke steering wheel needs nothing more than a pair of string-back driving gloves to complete the look. Yes, you could get an automatic transmission in your T/A, perhaps a way for Mopar to appeal to guys who wanted a Boss or a Z/28 but needed the convenience of an automatic. The big center speedometer is flanked by smaller instruments for temperature, fuel level, and voltage, and the look is very cool. The original Music Master AM radio is still fully functional and there's almost nothing inside this car that doesn't look almost new Even the trunk is shockingly clean, needing nothing more than a reproduction mat to be complete. The original, numbers-matching 340 cubic inch small block V8 still lives under the hood, augmented by a trio of 2-barrel carburetors affectionately known as the "Six Pack." It's fully rebuilt and highly detailed for show, from the Hemi Orange paint to the correct air cleaner assembly up top that proudly advertises the induction system underneath. Power steering and brakes are nice additions, and a set of stock-style manifolds that almost look like headers feed a correct side exhaust system with polished trumpet tips just ahead of the rear wheels, one of the T/A's defining features. It sounds AWESOME. The solid chassis is spectacular with body-colored floors, immaculately detailed chassis components, a new gas tank, and the perfect stance. It sits on a set of classic Rallye wheels wearing staggered 225/60/15 front and 245/60/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials; appropriate because the T/A was the first production car to offer staggered tires from the factory. When I was building race cars, we had a saying: I can get my small block around the track faster than your big block, and nowhere is that more true than with the Challenger T/A. If you're into driving and enjoying your Mopar muscle than debating the finer points of matching-numbers, this nicely optioned and very well documented 340-powered Challenger is for you. Finished in its original black color combination, this Challenger doesn't break any major rules, but it's so cool you simply won't care. The Challenger's shape is one of the most popular muscle car profiles in history (it's no secret why the Hemis cost what they do), and by building on a later model, you can create something truly special with the same fantastic look. This was obviously a very straight car to begin with, and the guys who built it went the extra mile to ensure that the sheetmetal was straight, the gaps were tight, and the look was just right. Then the deep black paint went on, and if you're a Mopar fan, you already know that a Challenger in black is one of the best-looking cars to roll out of the Chrysler design studios. Set off by a matching black vinyl top, this muscular Challenger is pulling no punches, offering a clean look that lets the sheetmetal speak for itself; no wing, no graphics, just straight, clean E-body magic. Of course, you do get shiny chrome bumpers that look great against the black paint, plus hood pins to remind everyone that this is, indeed, a performance car. How else to finish a nasty black Challenger than with a matching black interior? With high-back buckets wearing their original seat covers, it's stylish and so nicely preserved that you'll probably feel like wearing a clean suit every time you climb behind the wheel. Black carpets with a matching dash were installed recently while re-dyed white door panels look simply awesome and give it a very finished look. The instrument panel features the usual four round binnacles for the gauges, all of which are fully functional and feature brightly rendered faces and clear lenses, and they're joined by a set of auxiliary dials under the dash. The original radio is gone, replaced by a powerful AM/FM/CD and with this car, you also get fully functional A/C. A slap-stick shifter manages the TorqueFlite underneath, while the trunk offers a full-sized spare and a correct mat for a polished look. By 1973, the big blocks were dead, but that doesn't mean performance was gone. A built 340, complete with a steel crank, Keith Black pistons, an upgraded camshaft, and a big Holley carburetor, was nestled between the fenders of this Challenger, and it delivers all the thrills you'd expect for a fraction of the price of a big block. Beautifully finished to factory standards, it wears corporate turquoise paint, Mopar Performance finned valve covers and air cleaner, and just about everything else was properly restored. Power steering is nice with all this engine up front, and it exhales through a fresh dual exhaust system with Doug's headers and Dynomax mufflers. Everything else underneath was suitably upgraded for use with the strong-running small block, including the TCI-built TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic and 8.75-inch rear end, which has 3.23 gears inside. . A slick finishing touch is the chrome Cragar wheels wearing oversized 235/60/15 front and 245/60/15 rear BFGoodrich T/A radials. Documents include the Chrysler Corporation Broadcast Sheet, dealer invoice, manual, title papers, and a stack of restoration receipts. Get your E-body fix for a fraction of the price of an earlier car, and we'll throw in the awesome paint and interior for free. Take this 2010 Challenger R/T, which serves up a brutal silver shape with all the comforts of a luxury car. But to that already potent package, an enthusiast has added some upgrades, creating a one-of-a-kind machine that stands out among its stock brothers. The factory really nailed it when they brought the Challenger back to life, echoing the classic design but with modern design cues that make it more than just a retro wanna-be. Fortunately, this one landed in the hands of a passionate enthusiast, a Mopar guy to the core, who has taken immaculate care of the car since it was new. The silver paint is a refreshing change from all the Hemi Orange ones running around and it works especially well with the blackout hood treatment that extends over the roof and onto the deck lid. Actually, it's not even blacked out, it's a carbon-fiber stripe that makes the R/T look especially purposeful. The R/T is easy to spot with its vented hood and hash marks on both front fenders, as well as a subtle rear spoiler, all of which remain in as-new condition. In fact, the car hardly has a mark on it, which shouldn't be surprising with only 17,808 miles on the clock. When the original Challengers were built, even Cadillacs weren't this luxurious. Grippy two-tone leather buckets offer '60s styling and matching Silver embroidery on the headrests, and there's almost zero wear to any of the seating surfaces. This car was optioned out with everything Chrysler could throw at it, including a navigation system with a screen in the center of the dash, as well as a state-of-the-art entertainment system that includes a pair of big subwoofers in the trunk. Bright carbon- and aluminum-look accents dress up the cockpit, including the steering wheel spokes, as well as the shifter for the 6-speed manual transmission. A complete array of back-lit gauges have an eerie iridescent glow, and you'll be thrilled to see that the big tach has a 6000 RPM redline. And as I said, the trunk is full of speakers, but there's still room for your gear if you're heading out on a road trip. All that attitude isn't for naught, though. Under the hood is Chrysler's amazing 5.7 liter Hemi V8, which in 2009 cranked out 372 horsepower and more than 400 pounds of torque. But this is no ordinary Hemi. Not only has it been tweaked using things like a Mopar cold air intake and an SLP "Loud Mouth" dual exhaust system, but it still looks pretty stock under the hood. The modifications add up to more than 400 horsepower, which makes this R/T extremely potent on the street. But when you lift that hood, the wow factor takes over. The original plastic engine cover gives it a very tidy appearance and there's a heavy-duty strut tower brace overhead that sharpens handling. In fact, handling is this car's strongest suite, as the suspension has been upgraded with trick coil-over shocks and fat anti-roll bars at both ends, not to mention those awesome-looking 22-inch wheels with 265/35/22 steamrollers. The look is classic and with the upgrades that are included on this Challenger, you can have all the fun of a new one at a fraction of the price. As a result, cars like this 1966 Dodge Charger hit the streets with a unique performance look that still gets attention today. Add in a stout V8, functional factory A/C, and that awesome 4-seater interior and you get one awesome Mopar that rightfully earned its luxury/performance reputation. Finished in original RR1 Bright Yellow, this Charger doesn't get in your face with its performance intentions, but rather neatly straddles the luxury and performance fields with ease. You can see mid-60s Chrysler DNA everywhere you look, from the fine-toothed grille and round headlights to the simple V8 badges on its flanks, and this big fastback looks fast even just standing still. Finish quality is quite good, particularly for a restoration that's now a few years old, although it's not a show piece. That really doesn't matter, because you're going to drive this one, right? Most of the chrome and stainless trim is original and in good shape, although a few bits are starting to show their age; however, there's nothing that stands out as needing attention and the overall look is very appealing. We especially like the squared-off fender tops with their own strip of stainless, which exaggerates the length of the car, and the sharply creased sheetmetal gives it a lot of interest that makes it look sporting. We'll admit it: we love these fastback Chargers! The interior is one of the coolest of the '60s and it's a shame they didn't continue the four individual buckets into the second generation Chargers. The upholstery is quite correct and the black vinyl is offset by a few well-chosen bits of chrome and stainless trim, making for a very sleek interior that looks upscale. The gauges have slick silver bezels and bright orange pointers and the woodgrained steering wheel should look familiar to any Mopar fan. Recent black carpets, an excellent dash pad, and a taut headliner add to the well-constructed vibe and the only notable deviation is the temperature gauge tucked down under the dash. And this car does sport its original AM radio and factory A/C, which is fully functional and still uses R12 refrigerant for best results. In back, two passengers get the same first class accommodations as the front seat folks and that full-length console is extremely cool. In back, there's also a massive trunk with matching black carpet that fits well. Under the hood, you'll find that the original 361 has been swapped with a snarling 383. It's quite nicely maintained in the engine bay, with lots of signs of recent maintenance and no major deviations from the factory look. Corporate turquoise paint on the block, a heavy-duty air cleaner, and those trick exhaust manifolds all work to make this an engine bay that shows extremely well. It starts easily and pulls the big fastback around with ease and offers a great V8 soundtrack complements of a recent single exhaust system that veers towards the luxury side of the scale. A TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission snaps through the gears seamlessly and that looks like a fresh gas tank hanging out back. Stock wheels with stylish hubcaps add to the sporty look and carry 215/75/14 whitewall radials all around. You won't see many of these at shows and the combination of luxury and performance is done quite well. We like the fastback look and these big Chargers wear it better than most. From the handsome styling to a strong-running 273 cubic inch V8, this neat hardtop is an unusual Dodge that delivers performance and big car comfort in one sleek package. If this car has been repainted, it was a while ago and the burgundy paint looks pretty original to us. That means it's not perfect, but it does have an honest shine that might get even better with some attention. The color combination is excellent, perfect for highlighting Chrysler's famous cantilever styling, with the Coronet in particular wearing it especially well. That paint also showcases some very straight bodywork, which is critical on a car like this, which is all angles and flat planes, so there's no place for haphazard bodywork to hide. The doors open and close with impressive precision, indicative of Chrysler's quality in the '60s, and everything lines up rather well. The trim shows some signs of age, with the usual light pitting and fading on many of the components, but given the car's overall look and the just-right patina, we think it looks right and the important stuff like the tail panel, lenses, and glass is all in great condition. The all-original red cloth interior looks surprisingly welcoming and shows quite well considering it's 50 years old. UV rays and time are tough on red fabrics, so there's a bit of fading, but nothing that would warrant replacement. Perhaps the most interesting feature is good old three-on-the-tree shifting, which makes this big hardtop a lot of fun to drive, but you also get that cool steering wheel and pushbuttons for the ventilation system, a very futuristic touch in 1965. The gauges are original and show rather well and the factory-installed AM radio is still in the dash, although it's probably ready for an upgrade. The back seat is remarkably spacious and it feels bright and airy inside thanks to that dramatic roofline and plenty of glass. You also get a massive trunk that's equipped with a recent plaid mat and a full-sized spare on a matching painted steel wheel. The 273 cubic inch V8 under the hood makes the Coronet a lot of fun to drive. As far as we can tell, this is the car's original engine and it's nicely detailed in Hemi Orange and quite stock, so it has that super-smooth idle that made Chryslers famous in the 1960s. There's also plenty of torque, especially with the 3-speed manual gearbox, and with a 2.5-inch dual exhaust system, it certainly sounds as racy as it looks. Dance with the clutch properly and the car launches effortlessly and snaps to attention when you crack the throttle. Underneath, you get Chrysler's famous torsion bar front suspension that rides well and offers reasonably sporty handling, while out back there's an 8.75-inch rear end with highway-friendly gears, so this coupe is a great highway car. The chassis is also original, so it's not detailed, but it also looks to have spent its life someplace where snow and salt were not a problem and it looks awesome sitting on Magnum 500s with fat 225/60/15 Uniroyal radials all around. We love the way this car looks, the way it sits, and best of all, the price tag. A cool Mopar with V8 power and a reasonable price tag means you can be having fun this weekend for not a lot of cash. In particular, this one carries a stout 440, offers a heavy-duty look that's hard to resist, and in a show field full of later Chargers, this one is going to stand out. The bright red paint is about four years old and the sleek Charger wears it rather well. You can see this car's details echoed in its younger siblings, starting with the smooth front end and folding headlights, as well as the familiar Chrysler arrow-shaped detailing on the sides of the quarter panels, a shape that would also appear on the inner door panels of the second-generation cars. It's purely a driver, not a show car, but it looks great even up close, with decent gaps, a good shine, and only modest signs of age and use. Make no mistake, this is a big car, and the dramatic fastback profile only makes it look longer, giving it a lot of presence on the streets and accentuating the look of performance. You also get more chrome on this one than the later cars, including the wonderful trim that runs along the tops of the fenders and back to a set of mini fins flanking the fastback deck. The chrome bumpers are probably original, while irreplaceable pieces like the single taillight in back remain in excellent shape. The interior is still one of the coolest to ever grace a car coming out of a Chrysler factory, starting with two sets of bucket seats and two center consoles. The gauges are too cool to be believed, with numbers wrapping around the silver bezels and tracked by orange needles in the center, and they are joined by a small white-faced temperature gauge under the dash. The seat covers and carpets are probably new, while the rest seems to be nice original stuff that's been well-maintained over the years, with only the metal surfaces starting to show their age. The original AM radio is still in the dash, although it's not working, so it's ripe for an upgrade. There's also a leather wrap on the steering wheel that makes it a lot easier to grab than the skinny plastic original. The back seat is surprisingly spacious under that sloping rear window and yes, the trunk is positively massive. This Charger is a serious performer as well, thanks to a built 440 cubic inch V8 living under the hood. Wearing a coat of Hemi Orange engine enamel, an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, and long-tube headers, it's a torque factory that looks great in the cavernous engine bay. It starts easily and idles with a healthy rumble from the twin Magnaflow mufflers and all that power gives this big Charger the moves of a much smaller car. Backed by a 727 TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission and tall 2.94 gears, it's an easy car to maneuver around town and a superb highway cruiser. The undercarriage is in good order, looking mostly original but hailing from someplace warm so that's not really a demerit. And you can't argue that those black wheels with dog dish hubcaps and 225/70/15 blackwall tires doesn't give this car a very butch look. Available for a fraction of the price of its younger brothers, this Charger has just as much to offer, including an awesome look that you won't see everywhere you go. The bright red paint shows off the angular body quite well and with a burly 440 under the hood, it more than lives up to the hype. Add in a few desirable factory options, a cool bucket set interior, and you end up with a Mopar that tops to the cool charts. This car was originally yellow, but given how non-committal the colors were back in 1966, the red works just fine. It's an attention-grabber, that's for sure, but the good news is that they seem to have gone the extra mile to make it tidy. You'll note that the detailing on the quarter panels is crisp, the crease along the top of the fender is sharp enough to give you a paper cut, and the smooth, flat areas are distortion-free. The only way to get all that is time and effort, and it shows. The paint shines up beautifully and the gloss is really impressive, and the red really sets off this car's more aggressive look that's often lost on the softer colors. I'm glad they skipped the vinyl roof, too, because draping the dramatic roofline in red only makes it stand out that much more. The chrome and trim is in good condition, a combination of original trim and new bumpers fore and aft. The black interior looks pretty stock at first glance, and admittedly there's not much you can do to improve the original designers' work. However, up close (and it's hard to see in photos), there's red stitching on the seats that is super subtle yet makes a big impact when you open the door. The carpets were probably replaced a few years ago and plenty of the trim is original and in good condition. A center console and that oh-so-cool shifter for the automatic transmission are pure Mopar and the instrument panel includes a pretty complete array of original gauges. The original AM radio still lives in the dash and there's factory A/C, too, but both will need some service to be in top condition for cruising. The headliner and dash pad are in excellent condition and the trunk is properly dressed with a reproduction mat and a jack assembly stashed in the quarter panel. This car was no slouch when it was new, since it came with a 383 under the hood. Sometime in 2012, however, someone swapped it out to a correctly-dated 440 cubic inch V and dressed it up like the factory put it there. From the original air cleaner to the corporate turquoise paint on the block, it has a very OEM look under the hood. The A/C compressor dominates the top of the engine, but if you look closely you'll see chrome valve covers and a new wiring harness that was installed last year. The TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission is augmented with a shift kit that snaps off gear changes without hesitating, and the original 8.75-inch rear end carries street-friendly 3.23 gears. The dual exhaust sounds fantastic, and the floors are painted to match the body, so you know there's nothing hiding underneath. Air shocks, a new gas tank, and stock Rallye wheels with fat 245/60/14 white-letter radials round out the list of combat-ready features. Surprisingly fast yet completely civil, this is the kind of Mopar muscle that built the legends. Best of all, it's still insanely affordable, so call today! 1966 Dodge Coronet for Sale 1966 Dodge Coronet for Sale Stock # 2092-ATL Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1. Sporting what appears to be an all-original interior, clean bodywork, and a smooth 273 cubic inch V8 under the hood, it's a cool cruiser that won't break the bank. With a soft gloss, the code W White paint looks ideal on the long Coronet's angular bodywork. It has been repainted once and they did a rather good job of it, but it wasn't ever intended to be a show car. There are a few chips here and there indicative of its age, but overall, the presentation is impressive. Super straight body panels show crisp details and good panel alignment that further reinforce the suggestion that this car has never been apart or in an accident. A lot of folks really like the sharply folded lines of the mid-60s Chryslers, and the slick cantilevered roofline is instantly identifiable from a mile away, especially with a black vinyl covering as on this sleek hardtop. Things like the fine grille, the chrome bumpers, and the polished stainless strip along the body are further evidence of this car's easy life, and it sure looks like all the glass is original. Correct badges and the satin silver tail panel insert are in excellent condition, making this the kind of car that brings a smile to your face when you see it. The all-original black bench seat interior proves once again that the Chrysler stylists were at the top of their game in the '60s, and even the base bench seat got detailing on the backrests that makes it look far more upscale than its price tag would suggest. There's a dashboard full of real gauges, not idiot lights, and a slender steering wheel that allows you to guide the car with little more than your fingertips. Mopar experts will note that this car has A/C and it's fully functional, still using R12 refrigerant inside. Black carpets might be new, since they're so nice it's hard to believe they've got five decades on them, and the original door panels show some light aging but zero damage. The original Music Master AM radio remains in the dash and it, too, is fully functional. In back, the massive trunk offers enough storage for an army, as well as a recent and correct mat with the spare tire stashed underneath. A period-correct 273 cubic inch V8 remains under the hood, and it still looks pretty original. It's not detailed for show, but the air cleaner has been repainted to match what appear to be the original red valve covers, which dress up the engine a bit. The big A/C compressor dominates the engine bay, but all the hoses and clamps are recent, as is the master cylinder, so you know it's been properly maintained. It's impossibly smooth the way only '60s Mopars seem to be and despite its small size, it makes good torque that moves the Coronet with ease. A Torqueflite 3-speed automatic transmission channels thrust to an 8.75-inch rear and a single exhaust pipe gives it a nice V8 burble and reinforces the torque curve. Standard steel wheels with color-matched hubcaps look suitably low-key and wear 205/75/14 whitewall radials. This neat Coronet also comes with its original warranty card, maintenance records, and owner's manual. Clean, simple, and honest, this Coronet is a great way to get into the hobby for not a lot of money. They're pretty rare today, which makes this 1949 Dodge Wayfarer a one-of-a-kind rod that will definitely generate attention at the next big show. Simple, clean styling was Chrysler's post-war image and the Wayfarer was a way to inject some fun back into the automotive marketplace. That's particularly true of this car, which today wears a coat of attractive Prowler Purple, a luxurious hue that looks good on just about everything. There's a lot of smooth sheetmetal underneath helping to make that paint look good and the panels all line up well, an unexpected bonus on a car in this price range. Some of the original trim has been shaved, but not so much that the car's identity is lost, and with some contrasting chrome bits like the polished grille, neat trunk emblem, and period-perfect taillights, it has a great 1940s look with a twist. The chrome that is on the car is in good condition, with a few pieces perhaps being original and showing some signs of age, but even that doesn't diminish what is a very appealing car. The Wayfarer originally came with a wide bench seat that might have accommodated three people, but today it's strictly a two-seater with a pair of leather-wrapped buckets from a late-model. The tan upholstery is in very good condition and the seats are far better than anything you could get in 1949. Simple door panels were installed to complement the seats and the carpets are a slightly darker shade to help keep things looking clean. Factory instruments are arranged ahead of the driver, with a full set of auxiliary gauges set into the center of the dash, including a tachometer. A modern steering column fits neatly in the original wheel's place and the column-mounted shifter was replaced by a B&M unit mounted on the floor. And don't worry, there's a CD player mounted on the package shelf behind the seats. As I said, the Wayfarer never had any windows, but this one does have a nice-fitting tan convertible top with an oval rear window that's there in emergencies. The trunk is largely original with good floors, a full-sized spare, and plenty of room for your gear. A tried-and-true 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 replaces the original flathead six, and performance is, as you'd expect, a lot more entertaining. It's not a radical engine, so it starts easily, idles nicely, and moves the slick little ragtop without working hard. It also makes great V8 sounds and supports things like power disc brakes, a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, and an independent front suspension that rides hand handles like a modern car. There's a 4-barrel carburetor and a mellow-sounding dual exhaust system, which will definitely get the attention of any Dodge fans at the shows, and the car has a fairly stock stance which helps with the old-school look. Aluminum wheels dress it up a bit and carry 225/60/15 Goodyear radials at all four corners so it rides and handles rather well. A rare car that looks great and drives even better; what more could you ask? This neat Wayfarer will definitely be the talk of any show it attends.
