Starting with an ultra-clean 2-door post coupe and adding plenty of horsepower is a great way to deliver luxury and performance all in one package. And the fact that it looks so subtle, so unassuming, well, that's the best way to prowl the streets. This is one heck of a car! The burgundy paint was freshened in the 1980s and has a very authentic look overall. The sheetmetal underneath is remarkably clean and if you were around in the 1980s, then you remember when these cars were everywhere. Not many survived and even fewer are this nice, with excellent gaps, a hood that fits tightly, and a trunk lid that doesn't need a huge slam to close, all signs of a car that hasn't been neglected or abused. There's just the right amount of gloss in the paint so it can almost pass for original, and the color us subtle enough to not attract too much attention when you're cruising. They were smart and kept it completely stock, so no graphics or other modifications; heck, there's not even a pinstripe! The 2-door post coupe with a steel roof is probably the right car for this kind of transformation, and it's a base model, because there's no hood ornament, no side trim, not even any rocker trim, making it look clean but not too flashy. Yeah, this is how you build a sleeper! The interior is completely original and shockingly clean. Yes, they kept the bench seat, which is all part of the sleeper code of conduct. Familiar red mouse fur upholstery was a GM staple back when this car was built, and the term "full sized comfort" was coined for vehicles just like this. The door panels are sharp, the dash isn't cracked, and even the headliner remains taut and firmly affixed to the roof (they were notorious for drooping). With more than a passing glance, you'll notice the tach on the steering column, and maybe the auxiliary gauges underneath, but for most folks on the street, this car won't raise any eyebrows. The factory gauges are bright and crisp and this is indeed a base model, with manual windows, a factory AM/FM radio, and a column shifter. However, it does have a tilt column, which is kind of a neat find in a car like this. The trunk is neatly finished with a full-sized spare with matching redline radial plus the relocated battery. Under the giant hood you'll find a ZZ383 crate motor, with 383 cubic inches and 425 horsepower on tap. It fits like it was born there, although everyone will know when they see it that this is no stocker. It's got a high-rise intake, a big Holley carburetor, and just about everything you see is brand new. Long-tube headers feed a custom dual exhaust system that's quiet enough to maintain the illusion but barks just the way you'd want it to on the roll. Better yet, it's been painted black to help it disappear. It's backed by a built TH350 3-speed automatic feeding 4.10 gears with Moser 30-spline axles, so there's no denying what this car's mission might be. The entire suspension has been upgraded with fat sway bars and a lot of new parts, and an upgraded Wilwood brake master cylinder handles the stopping. Painted steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps and BFGoodrich redline radials finish the sleeper look perfectly. This is an insanely cool car. It's cool because it's so nicely preserved and it's cool because it's a predator. Complete with a reproduction window sticker and restoration receipts, it definitely won't last very long. If you want to get noticed, be the center of attention at parades, and pretty much look like you have the world at you beck and call, nothing delivers the message better than a vintage Cadillac ragtop like this 1970 DeVille. Looking at the price, you can be forgiven for thinking this is some worn-out beater, but you'd be incorrect in your assumption. The bright red paint isn't totally correct or perfect, but it does look great and if you're looking to make a grand entrance in Vegas, this is your ride. The finish is bright enough to make your eyes water, but bright red isn't a bad choice on a vintage Cadillac convertible, because they were, at heart, flamboyant cars. Finish quality is good, with signs of age and use and a little orange peel here and there, but nobody will notice any of that as you cruise by, a one-car parade. Cadillacs are known for fins and chrome, and this one has both, from the pontoon-shaped front bumpers that are in great shape to the pointed taillights out back that leave no question as to what kind of car this is. Is it perfect? No. But it has just the right patina to suggest a casual lifestyle that embraces the good things without sweating the details. White is a fantastic choice with the bright red paint work, and thanks to new seat covers, it looks extremely fresh. Matching red carpets with correct heel pad, freshened door panels that retain the original woodgrained inserts, and the dark red dash pad all look quite good. Of course, almost everything was standard in your 1970 Cadillac convertible, from power windows and locks to A/C to a six-way front bench seat. The 1970 Cadillacs also had a very cool wrap-around instrument panel that pretty much gave the driver exclusive use of all the controls, and it's all easy to reach. There's a newer radio in the dash and a white power convertible top makes it look right and includes a crystal clear rear window that eliminates the worry of hazy plastic curtains. The cavernous trunk is pretty clean thanks to new black carpets that are neatly installed. Cadillac's 472 cubic inch V8 make locomotive-like torque, easily propelling the big DeVille with authority. They're also indestructible low-RPM engines that never feel like they're working very hard, and thanks to good maintenance throughout its life, this one runs quite well indeed. With a 4-barrel carburetor on top, it gets off the line easily, but where it's really at home is interstate cruising, where there's no better way to travel. The engine bay is well-kept if not detailed, and service access is surprisingly good compared to the Eldorado convertible that would follow. A TH400 3-speed automatic spins a heavy-duty rear end that looks like it belongs under a giant truck rather than a luxury car, and the suspension is in good order so that incomparable '70s Cadillac ride is part of the package. Stock wheels with hubcaps give it the right look and carry 235/75/15 whitewall radials. Big and flashy, this Cadillac delivers an A-list celebrity experience at a bargain-basement price. With lots of new work, an attractive color combination, and that luxurious ride, this is a huge bang for the buck driver. Cars like this 1968 Buick Skylark are affordable V8 fun that deliver more luxury, more comfort, and just as much performance as a comparable Chevelle, all for thousands less. Look around and I doubt you'll find a cleaner A-body with factory A/C than this! The turquoise color is pretty darned close to the original code K Aqua Mist, and we have to admit that we love the look on this car. With the bright white vinyl top, it has a very upbeat look that's still grown-up, perfect for the sporting Buick. Styling was all-new in 1968, and the dramatic sweeping crease that runs through the fenders, doors, and quarter panels is designed to emulate the "sweep-spear" styling of the 1940s and '50s. It really works well here, especially with clean, straight bodywork that doesn't let any ripples or misaligned panels get in the way of the look. For a Buick, there's a minimal amount of trim, which was optional, letting the clean, nicely restored bodywork speak for itself. Both bumpers fit well with nice chrome, and it's kind of nice to see that they didn't bother to try to dress this one up as a fake GS or something like that. Twin chrome strips down the trunk give it an upscale look and all the stainless trim has been buffed up to look great. You won't find many of these that have been treated as well as this one has. The bright white vinyl interior has a lot of new pieces and a few original bits, all combining to make a comfortable, inviting driving environment. The white upholstery is complemented by black carpets and dashboard, so it's not overwhelming, and with a fold-down center armrest, it's easy to get comfortable in the big Buick. A unique steering wheel should be familiar to long-time Buick fans, and the gauges have cool white faces that were way ahead of their time. The secondary controls have a brushed stainless applique and it's nice to see that the A/C is fully functional with good old R12 inside. There's a modern AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in the dash and it was neatly installed so nothing was cut or mangled, and we especially like the Skylark's ornate door panels that recall the decorative pieces from the 1940s. There's also a big trunk that's tidy and clean and has nothing to hide. Buick's 350 cubic inch V8 is all about torque, and this one with its two-barrel carburetor is a fantastic runner. Sure, you could upgrade to a 4-barrel, but I bet you wouldn't feel the difference and it's so smooth and easy to drive, I'd be afraid of losing that user-friendly nature. It's pretty original, with Dante Red paint on the block and a big air cleaner up top, but a weekend of cleaning things up would pay big dividends. It appears that the A/C system has some recent service work and it offers a nice V8 rumble from the single exhaust system. An automatic transmission was the most popular choice in the Skylark, which really is a luxury car first and a sporty car second, and with highway-friendly gears out back, you can cruise for hours without feeling fatigued. The suspension is supple, the steering is smooth, and with recent 205/75/15 radials on original Buick Road Wheels, it looks great and handles beautifully. You get a lot of car for your money with vintage Buicks, and this Skylark is a great example. Come in and take it for a drive; we promise you'll love Buick's take on the familiar A-body. If you're even remotely interested in it, don't even finish reading, call now, because these cars never, ever stick around for long. Even nearly 20 years after they were built, these are A-list commodities with a long list of eager new owners. There's no need to cover the legend of the Impala SS here, so I'm just going to get right to it. This is a 2-owner, GA car and is completely stock. It also wears its factory dark gray green paint, which is arguably the most desirable of all Impala SS colors and certainly the rarest. After 18 years is showing some signs of use, but thanks to careful ownership and some long-term storage, it's quite presentable, especially for a car designed to go this fast. The car has never been hit or rusty, and all the special Impala SS-only components are in place, from the grille to the emblems on the C-pillars. The trick Impala SS emblems on the quarters, which were color-matched to the body for a cool effect, perfectly sum up the subtle look of this car. Even the headlights are bright and clear and the taillights show no signs of UV damage or fading, further indications that this car has been treated right. Chevy's gray leather interior was a bit more dressed up than the usual Caprice fare and the stuff wears like iron. The driver's seat shows modest signs of use and there's a bit of wear on the driver's armrest where someone's elbow might rest, but otherwise the interior is remarkably clean and unused. Every single option Chevy offered was standard on the Impala, including A/C (ice cold, by the way), power windows, locks, mirrors and seats, cruise control, and a tilt column with a leather-wrapped wheel. There's room for five in there and nobody will complain about the accommodations. A center console houses the shifter for the 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, as well as a pair of cup holders big enough to handle a pony keg. Heck, this car is so stock that even the original factory radio still lives in the dash, and quite honestly, it sounds great. The cavernous trunk looks like new and still carries its original space-saver spare, tire cover, and cargo net. GM's 350 cubic inch LT1 V8 powered the Impala SS, and while it wasn't as strong as the Corvette version from which it was derived, it gives this big 4-door the moves of a genuine muscle car. It's also as reliable as a New York City taxi cab and as modification-friendly as Joan Rivers. Fortunately, this one is completely stock, right down to the air filter, and that's exactly how you want them. Never abused or raced, it runs and drives beautifully and still feels exciting after all these years. It starts easily, the transmission shifts properly, and it hammers down the road with the authority that only a big, bad sedan can deliver. Factory alloys look fantastic and wear recent 255/50/17 Kumho radials. Late-model collectables are rare, but the fact that the Impala SS is still trading hands aggressively means that there's a strong following for these cars. As I said, this is one car that won't be here next week, so don't miss your chance and call today! 1995 Chevrolet Impala for Sale 1995 Chevrolet Impala for Sale Stock # 2904-ATL Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] Tampa Showroom 4610 Pet Lane Lutz, FL 33559 Local/International: (813) 501-1630 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. Freshly built with just 3 miles on the clock (yep, you read that right), it has been pumped up with a great-running 340, a rebuilt TorqueFlite, and a great paint job that is both subtle and sophisticated. This cool Dart has had a lot of time and money invested to transform it into the gorgeous Demon you see today. 100% rust-free from the start, it was given a full repaint inside and out in the correct GF3 Medium Green by a bunch of guys who clearly knew what they were doing. The finish is dazzling in the sunlight, where the gold undertones of the paint really sparkle, and correct reproduction Demon graphics and stripes were installed at the same time. Factory hood scoops were part of the package (this is a Chrysler muscle car, after all), giving it an aggressive look that will have competitors thinking twice about tangling with this Dart. Correct Demon badges were fitted, and all the chrome and stainless was shined up. There was simply nothing else on the road in 1971 that could compare to a Demon, especially at the price, and it remains true today. Inside, an all-new two-tone green interior was supplied by Legendary and helps bolster the Demon's no-frills street cred. The two-tone upholstery gives it an upscale look, and the rubber floor coverings promise zero maintenance. Glancing at the fender tag, this car was just about as stripped as you could get, although the original owner did specify an AM radio, which remains in the dash. Standard equipment included a pretty comprehensive array of gauges, and an aftermarket A/C setup hangs under the dash, so it looks like it might have been installed by the dealer back in '71. Everything remains in excellent condition, and it's clear that someone really loved this car. No frills, but that was entirely the point of the Demon, and you can easily see how it would be able to catch people unaware. A glance at the fender tag will tell you that this was originally a six-cylinder car, but today there's a built 340 under the hood, and it was built to rock. Finished to look highly authentic, the engine wears proper Hemi Orange paint, and the crinkle finish on the air cleaner and cast aluminum valve covers looks suitably butch. A 4-barrel carburetor feeds the strong-running small block and a set of shorty headers manage exhaust, and there's nothing like the ripping snarl of a highly-wound small block to attract attention. Underneath, the recent restoration is very apparent, as there's no trace of rust or rot anywhere on the chassis and it's beautifully detailed with new parts everywhere you look. The TorqueFlite automatic was rebuilt and feeds an 8.75-inch rear end. It wears cool 15-inch aluminum wheels that look straight out of the pages of Hot Rod magazine and they wear staggered 205/65/15 front and 225/60/15 rear performance radials. With a new-found emphasis on performance and economy, this Demon is the right muscle car for our times. You also won't find a nicer one, because someone spent way out of proportion to the sticker price to make this one of the best. They offer great looks, plenty of V8 power, a lot of creature comforts, and a classic convertible feel that's better than most cars of the period. How can you go wrong with that? The light blue paint on this Olds is just the right icy metallic shade to make the convertible look great in the sun. We seldom see bodywork this good on cars this affordable, and there's clearly a sizeable investment in getting it to look this good. White stripes add a sporty, muscle car look but it isn't over-done; the Old's natural curves seem to lend themselves perfectly to a set of stripes down the center. The quarter panels are smooth, the doors line up well, and aside from the aforementioned stripes, there aren't any deviations from factory spec, so it has a nicely detailed look that's just right. There's also plenty of chrome and bright trim, including along the rockers, around the windshield, and in the form of big block letters on the trunk lid proudly spelling out OLDSMOBILE for everyone to see. Clean lenses, a few well-placed badges, and polished fender moldings definitely make this one look like a grown up's hot rod. The white bucket seat interior of this Olds looks to be largely original, and the contrast with the blue paint is very appealing. Most of these Cutlass convertibles got bench seats, so it's surprising to see just how right a center console looks. The original stainless-faced gauges are a good match with the four-spoke steering wheel, and there's a set of small aftermarket gauges hanging underneath. This car came equipped with factory A/C, which has been recently upgraded with a new compressor and R134a refrigerant, so it's effective and easy to service. It also comes with power windows, which is always a big plus in a convertible, and the original AM radio has been augmented by an under-dash AM/FM/CD stereo head unit with speakers in the kick panels. This car also offers a matching white power convertible top with a glass rear window as well as a nicely outfitted trunk with a matching fifth wheel and tire assembly. Oldsmobile's "Rocket" 350 cubic inch V8 shares very few parts with its corporate cousins, so it has a personality all its own. Olds was always about torque, and even this small block delivers in a big way, making the convertible feel effortless in everything it does. It starts easily, idles smoothly, and goes about its business in an unobtrusive way, exactly right for a car whose first priority is luxury. The engine is nicely detailed in Oldsmobile Gold paint with correct decals on the air cleaner. You'll also find an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, a new alternator, the aforementioned A/C compressor upgrade, and a new power booster for the braking system. Dual Flowmasters give it a distinctive sound that's unique to Oldsmobile V8s and the turn-downs just under the rear bumper keep it looking subtle. GM's reliable TH350 3-speed automatic transmission was the gearbox of choice behind the small block V8 and it feeds highway-friendly gears in the 10-bolt rear, which has been upgraded with a W-27 aluminum cover. Big sway bars fore and aft tidy up the Cutlass's handling and power front disc brakes were standard equipment. Pretty Rally II wheels have been color-matched to the bodywork and now carry fat BFG rubber. This is one of those well-maintained cars that's a joy to own. First, it's a big old ragtop, and nothing says you've arrived like a '70s convertible. Then there's the smooth 350 cubic inch V8, a ton of power options, and a great triple-white color combination. Yeah, this sucker was built to cruise. White-on-white-on-white is a fantastic color combination for a big ragtop, and few wear it better than a mid-70s GM ragtop. Our photos don't show it off like the sunlight does, but you can clearly see that the bodywork is straight and clean, and as a product of the '70s, finding a rust-free example is paramount. We believe that the paint is original, and with that in mind it's in fantastic shape. Sure, there are a few nicks and scratches, but for an untouched survivor, it's in very good overall condition. Chevrolet didn't get hung up with excessive trim but it does wear fender skirts so it has a clean, chiseled look that makes it seem almost sporty, which was surely the intention. Chevrolet's simple grille is present in a token way up front but it's not terribly distinctive, and that long hood almost has its own horizon when viewed from the driver's seat. Nice chrome bumpers, sport mirrors, and full-width taillights add interest, and all the original badges are still in place so there's no mistaking this car for anything else. Chevrolet nailed it with the interior, which features wide bench seats that are the ultimate in '70s cool. With room for six, this full-size cruiser doesn't skimp on luxury and delivers that unbeatable combination of cushy ride and vast interior space that makes it the ultimate road trip ride. Wood paneling on the dash is fairly convincing, and the layout gives the driver fingertip access to things like the A/C and original radio, while a newer AM/FM/CD stereo head unit is mounted under the dash. Other options include power windows and locks and a tilt steering column, all of which make this car a top-of-the-line piece from GM's bread-and-butter division. Handsome blue carpets and matching dash board add some welcome contrast, and the white seats are much cooler on a sunny day than a darker color. The white convertible top is in excellent condition and includes a glass rear window and the big trunk is ready for your next road trip with a full-sized spare and tidy original mats. Chevy's 350 cubic inch V8 really needs no introduction. Renowned for its torque production, it gives the Caprice Classic an effortless style that eats up the miles without breaking a sweat and pulls the luxurious convertible around with a great V8 soundtrack. In good original condition with bright Chevy Orange engine enamel and a lot of correct components, the engine bay offers additional evidence that this car has led a good life and has had a good amount of money invested in it recently. It's backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic, and on a car this big, power steering and brakes were, of course, standard equipment. The unparalleled ride quality is something that needs to be experienced to be believed, and it soaks up bumps like an ocean liner. It's quite clean underneath and still uses what appears to be the original catalytic converter. Classic Rally wheels are fitted with 235/75/15 Toyo whitewalls, which look exactly right. We'll never see full-sized luxury cars like this, and certainly not convertibles. With tons of originality, personality, and luxury, this Chevy is still a first-class way to travel. How about a stunning 1971 442 wearing bright yellow paint from a Rallye 350 and packing a thundering 455 cubic inch big block. Of course, a few mods like front disc brakes, a Hurst dual-gate shifter, and a little more horsepower never hurt, and the result is a brutal 442 tribute that looks and drives like you've always imagined. The riveting yellow paint isn't for everyone, but if you're an Olds fan, you'll recognize it right away. Between the stripes, the twin-nostril W25 ram air hood, the wing, and the dual trumpets in the rear bumper, this 1971 Olds has every visual trick Oldsmobile used to get buyers into the showrooms. And they all work quite well to make one of the most eyeball-grabbing pieces of muscle we've ever offered. The work is extremely well done by a guy who knows Oldsmobiles inside and out so it looks the way the factory might have built it back in '71. Admittedly, it's not subtle so don't expect to keep a low profile, but if it's attention you crave, this car will do it better than most. The paint and bodywork are quite good and the paint has been protected with PermaFinish, so it's extremely low maintenance. Other goodies include LD taillights, brand new red W-30 inner fenders, and hood pins to give it a dominating look in the other guy's rear-view mirror. An equally large sum of money was lavished on the interior of this Olds, and gives the black buckets an almost-new look. It's quite correct and a nice contrast to the arrest-me-yellow bodywork, but there's no question you're sitting inside a performance car. The optional Rally Pack gauges include a Tick-Tock-Tach in addition to the standard stainless-faced dials, all set into a handsome woodgrained dashboard and assisted by a set of auxiliary gauges under the dash. A 4-spoke steering wheel looks properly sporty and a Hurst dual-gate shifter manages the TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, the only automatic gearbox stout enough to handle Oldsmobile's biggest big block. Even the vintage-looking AM/FM/cassette radio is new and powers fresh speakers throughout the interior. The trunk is outfitted with a reproduction mat as well as a custom cover for the full-sized spare. The reason you build a 442 tribute like this is horsepower, and lots of it. The 455 cubic inch Oldsmobile V8 packs a tremendous punch thanks to modifications like a performance cam, Holley Street Avenger 4-barrel carburetor on an Edelbrock intake, and long-tube headers, just in case you were feeling light on torque. Those red inner fenders make for a dramatic presentation and it's dressed up with lots of chrome for impact. MSD supplied the ignition system and the twin Magnaflow mufflers end in stainless trumpets under the rear bumper. Front and rear sway bars, front disc brakes, and a trick aluminum cover for the W27 10-bolt rear end mean that this Olds is built for fun, not static display. Color-coordinated Super Stock II wheels always look best on an Oldsmobile and wear new BFG radials all around. The comprehensive restoration has left this 442 as far more than the sum of its parts. A lot of spares and original components come with the car, too, so if it's more radical than you'd prefer, you can take it back a notch. But who would do that when this car is so much fun as it sits? Clean, simple bodywork? Check. No nonsense interior? Got it. V8 power? Roger that. If you're the kind of guy who likes his cars to be subtle, then this one definitely deserves your attention. Novas weren't anything amazing when they were new, with most Novas like this one packing six-cylinder engines for economy. But that also means that their survival rate wasn't all that great, so finding a good one that's ready to enjoy isn't all that easy. This handsome pale yellow hardtop was refinished a few years ago and is no longer destined for the show field, but it has the look of a car that's led a good life. You can easily see that someone cared about giving the Nova a racy makeover, which included a fiberglass cowl-induction hood and oversized rolling stock, and the result is a car that looks tough without advertising too loudly. Even though it started out as a six-cylinder model, it wears the Nova's crisp design quite well, offering minimalist trim with just a single stripe of stainless running down the flanks, along with bright chrome bumpers and a simple egg crate grille up front. Heck, this one hasn't even been dressed up like a Super Sport, but instead sticks to the basics and gets them exactly right. Basic black would describe the interior, but like the exterior, it's what you don't see immediately that's most important, and the beauty remains in the details. The seat covers have been replaced at some point and reproduce the original patterns exactly, making them both comfortable and stylish. Replacement carpets, nicely rendered door panels with all the stainless trim intact, and original gauges all suggest that someone cared about making it look right. Auxiliary gauges have been fitted under the dash, but true to its minimalist roots, there's no radio. As an original PowerGlide car, the 4-speed with Hurst T-handle shifter is a welcome sight, making this neat little hardtop a bit of a sleeper that uses a factory look to great effect. Again, it's not perfect but it has its own charm that a lot of folks seem to really like. A 327 cubic inch Chevy V8 slides between the fender wells, and since it was optional in the Nova, it fits perfectly. With a high-rise intake, Edelbrock carburetor, and a few chrome dress-up pieces, it's got a vintage hi-performance look and it's about what you'd expect from a car that made its reputation on being fast and affordable. Its humble beginnings are visible in the fact that it has manual steering and brakes, but given how light the car is, you'll never notice that they're gone and it gives the car a very direct feel from behind the wheel. The engine and 4-speed manual transmission were transplanted as a unit, so they work well together and it has an awesome bark from the shorty headers, 2.5-inch exhaust system, and Flowmaster mufflers out back. Factory-style Rally wheels are always an excellent choice, with this Nova wearing 215/75/14 blackwall radials for an industrial-strength look. Just try to find a clean, usable, V8 Nova that's ready to go. Not so easy, right? This neat coupe is ready to play and offers a subtle look that may just catch the other guy sleeping at the wheel. Take this 1969 Chevy Impala for example. The great look is accentuated by the oversized wheels that look right, a funky color combination, and is powered by a strong-running small block V8. Full-sized luxury muscle is red hot right now, and nobody does it better than the Impala. The big Imp carries itself well, like a heavyweight prizefighter in formalwear. As a super clean southern car, you can tell how nice this one is at a single glance. You'll be even more impressed to learn that the paint job is about seven years old, and it's holding up quite well. They used the original code 59 Frost Green color, and it's the perfect hue on the late-60s icon. There's a lot of sheetmetal to straighten and it's all in very good shape with only a few dings here and there that are inevitable if you drive your car. Unlike many of its contemporaries, the Impala doesn't carry a lot of excess chrome, so the simple body side moldings show off the arrow-straight bodywork but don't offer a lot of flash, and both bumpers are excellent. The lack of a vinyl top gives it a super sleek look and the car's length is accentuated by the rub strip running along its flanks. And, of course, it just wouldn't be a high-performance Chevy without the engine call-out on the front fender; in this case, it's a '327.' And if you want impressive, check out the interior! Those are the original seats, wrapped in optional vinyl upholstery, and while there's a split in the driver's backrest, it's probably not major enough to require replacement. The carpet and door panels are also original and in good shape, with only minor discoloration that simply comes from age, not neglect or abuse. The headliner might be newer and the dash pad looks great. I kind of like that about original cars that have been so carefully maintained, it's like automotive archaeology to try to figure out what's original and what's new. The instrument panel is massive, offering a wide speedo and clustering all the major controls right in front of the driver, framing everything with a very nice steering wheel with a cool little Impala logo in its center. The original AM radio remains at your fingertips, and it has factory A/C that's still blowing cold with good old R12 refrigerant inside. As you'd expect, the trunk is massive, and has nothing to hide with a solid floor and a full-sized spare. Under about an acre of hood, you'll find a smooth-running, numbers-matching Chevy 327 and a nicely detailed engine bay. Completely stock, including the air cleaner, valve covers, and other frequently replaced items, it almost looks too good. Nah, who am I kidding, this is the kind of car that will draw a crowd with its humble originality, and the engine bay is simply showing off a lifetime of clean living in a warm climate. Heck, even the exhaust manifolds are crisp and pit-free. Of course the big Imp has power steering, but power brakes are oddly absent from the options list, although the binders work just fine out on the road. The transmission is a TH350 3-speed automatic feeding a 10-bolt rear with highway-friendly gears inside. And the 20-inch American Racing wheels with silver centers and staggered 255/35/20 front and 275/40/20 rear performance radials give it a sporty look that fits rather well. If you like your cars big, clean, and a little bit unusual, think of the potential in this ultra-sanitary Impala. As a testament to their enduring popularity, just watch any music video or check out the garage of a pro athlete's home-they're all rolling in vintage Impalas just like this lovely Silver Metallic hardtop. Sporting a strong-running 327, automatic transmission, and an older repaint that looks fantastic, it's next summer's best bet for stylish cruising. Yes, this is a real code 18 Impala sport coupe, and its rarity doesn't come from low production numbers, but rather from the fact that it isn't a fake SS. Instead, it's a clean, authentic, well-finished Impala with 100% of its factory sheetmetal and a clean bill of health, thanks to living in a warm climate most of its life. The paint was done several years ago, and the icy silver paint works rather well on the stylish Imp's bodywork adding a modern touch that accentuates the straight lines. There's absolutely no evidence that this car has ever been damaged, and the body fits together well, with good gaps, neat trim alignment, and a solid feeling going down the road. All the chrome and stainless trim sparkles and even the side trim is remarkably devoid of parking lot dings. Despite the resto-mod first impression, this Impala has a very authentic look and feel once you get up close and personal. Inside, the original-style black cloth and vinyl interior remains in exceptionally good condition. Refreshed at some point, it's a nice blend of original styling and some more up-to-date materials that are more inviting than the originals, without being obvious. Both front and rear seats are in excellent condition, and even the driver's area shows very little wear. Recent carpets are the correct color and weave, and the door panels are neat custom pieces that blend right in. A floor shifter was added to replace the original column shift and there's a tachometer strapped to the steering column to make it look suitably racy. There's no radio, but that means that you can install the system of your choice just in time to go cruising and the cavernous trunk is neatly finished with no signs of major rust issues or past damage. There's a 327 cubic inch V8 under the hood, which was a step up from the basic 283. Nicely preserved and obviously well maintained, it runs like a small block Chevy should, with easy road manners and an awesome V8 soundtrack. It's also nicely detailed, with chrome valve covers, an n Edelbrock air cleaner, and a matching 4-barrel carburetor and intake manifold with an Endura-shine finish. A newer dual reservoir master cylinder and brake booster power a set of front disc brakes and the power steering has been upgraded as well. A big aluminum radiator keeps things nice and cool and there's a fresh alternator in place of the factory generator. The automatic transmission shifts well and feeds the original rear end, and while you're under there, please note that the original floors, frame, and other components are in good order. There's also a new Flowmaster dual exhaust system and it looks positively awesome sitting on those big 17-inch Torque thrusts with low-profile performance radials. This Impala is a timeless resto-mod that's also wonderful to drive. One of 200 built by Coach Works of Chatsworth, CA on behalf of Cadillac management, this particular Mirage was restored by the head of the Mirage Registry and is quite likely the finest one known to exist anywhere. This is a show car in almost every way, and once you see it up close, you'll be extremely impressed by not only the quality of the restoration, but the original build as well. This is not a home-made conversion, and it's not something put together on the fly at a custom shop; no, the brass at Cadillac made this happen and as a result, the finish quality is OEM throughout and the seamless blend of Cadillac Coupe DeVille styling and pickup truck utility is just beautifully done. It wears a fresh coat of deep Mercedes-Benz silver metallic paint, which looks about a hundred times better than anything they were spraying in the 1970s. It is appropriate on this big truck, er, car, giving it a luxurious look without being too flashy about it. But don't worry, if it's attention you crave, this sucker still delivers in a very big way. The integration of the pickup bed and coupe bodywork is neatly done and mostly camouflaged by a matching silver padded roof that retains the coupe's quarter windows. The bed is beautifully finished with more gorgeous paint work and stainless rub stripes, making it just too pretty to actually use it as a pickup ever again. Cadillac's luxurious interior is 100% intact here, with acres of bright red leather that's in awesome condition. It's all been restored and there are several modifications that not only add a custom look, but enhance the luxury experience. The dash is wrapped in matching red leather, eliminating the crack-prone original vinyl and there's now a full array of Dakota Digital gauges in the original speedometer panel. The factory tilt column is fitted with a billet steering wheel, but that's about it as far as mods. The rest is all Cadillac luxury and includes things like power windows, locks, and seats, automatic climate control (ice cold!), and the original AM/FM/8-track stereo radio. Even the irreplaceable original red rubber floor mats are in excellent shape! Cadillac's monstrous 500 cubic inch V8 is prime for upgrades, and this big V8 makes about one horsepower per cubic inch thanks to a fresh rebuild and lots of enhancements. It looks super clean sitting under those finned valve covers, and the most obvious upgrades are the intake manifold, carburetor, Davis ignition system, headers, and the upgraded A/C compressor. Inside there's a big camshaft that definitely makes itself known (no smooth Cadillac idle here!) and it moves all 5500 or so pounds of Mirage with the kind of authority usually reserved for muscle cars. The TH400 3-speed automatic transmission was suitably built to handle the big numbers coming out of the engine, but it's still running a set of 2.73 gears out back, so it will eat miles and miles of pavement without working very hard. The chassis is extremely clean and shows no major modifications beyond the dual exhaust system and the self-leveling rear suspension is very useful on a pickup. Recent chrome wire wheels are stylish on a Cadillac like this and are wrapped in 235/75/15 whitewall radials. With only 576 miles since the restoration, this is quite likely the finest of its kind anywhere. This very rare Mirage is cool in every way that matters. Nicely restored a few years ago, this Olds absolutely delivers on the promises made by its outrageous bodywork. The Rallye 350 was designed to compete with the Road Runner and other "affordable" muscle cars, delivering the performance look with a more mild powertrain ("mild" being a relative term). All 3547 cars wore the same bright Sebring Yellow paint job with color-matched bumpers and a dramatic satin black graphics package, twin-snorkel fiberglass hood, and decklid spoiler, so it certainly looks the part of a maximum muscle performance car. It is only recently that these cars are achieving collector notoriety, so finding one accurately restored like this can be a challenge. The sheetmetal is in great condition, particularly the bulging rear quarters that look like horsepower rendered in steel, and while it's not perfect, it offers great gaps and doors that open and close easily. The decals, stripes, and logos are all accurate reproductions, and yes, the factory urethane-coated bumpers remain in place (many were jettisoned in favor of stock chrome units by irate dealers who struggled to sell the unusual-looking cars). Today, however, the Rallye 350 stands out as something special that's finally got collectors' respect. Despite their target audience being folks looking for affordable performance, this Olds is dressed up in some expensive designer clothes inside. Dual buckets and a center console definitely enhance its muscle car credentials, with the Oldsmobile chairs having an upscale pattern that's comfortable as well as stylish. The dash was standard Cutlass fare with burled walnut appliques and brushed stainless steel on the gauge faces, and as an Oldsmobile, this one carries factory A/C that was only available with the automatic transmission. Remote mirrors with color-matched housings were included with the package, and this car also carries a factory radio in the dash with a modern AM/FM/CD head unit in the glove box and speakers in the kick panels. The Hurst shifter knob isn't stock, but the original one is included with the car if that's what you prefer. Everything is recently restored and fresh, from the headliner to the carpets, with the trunk finished using a reproduction mat and custom "Tweety Bird" spare tire cover. The only engine in the Rallye 350 was the L74 Oldsmobile 350 which was rated at a stout 310 horsepower thanks to a recently rebuilt 4-barrel carb and standard dual exhaust. Reproduction decals were used wherever possible and even the little stuff is accurate, making this Olds look and run like it's supposed to. The air conditioning system has been upgraded to R134a refrigerant, and it exhales through a throaty dual exhaust system which is the only major deviation from stock. A rugged TH350 3-speed automatic backed by an Oldsmobile 12-bolt rear (which is different from the Chevy version) makes for an indestructible powertrain, and 3.23 gears out back make it an effortless highway cruiser. All Rallye 350s got the FE2 performance suspension setup and color-matched Rallye II wheels, with this particular car wearing trim rings that weren't standard equipment but are definitely a welcome addition. With its distinctive look and impressive performance, the Rallye 350 is a serious alternative for hobbyists looking for something a little unusual. Add in matching numbers and a few smart mods, and this is one you can drive and show with pride. Well, when was the last time you saw one, let alone one in virtually stock condition? Maybe it's not a collector car yet, but something this clean with V8 power and room for the whole gang can't be a mistake, not at this price. The low-key looks of the big Malibu have aged well, and with everything '70s being popular again, you could have the coolest ride around if you're into irony. Actually, the green paint and smooth bodywork look pretty good for their age and it's obvious that someone has taken care of this car over the past 40 or so years. It comes from a warm climate and all four doors fit well, suggesting a car that has never been wrecked or neglected. Is it perfect? Nope. But imagine all the attention this car will generate at next week's cruise night, because everyone knew someone who drove one of these. It's also got a rather rare matching green vinyl top that's in quite good condition without the usual fading and popped seams you'd expect on a car of this vintage. The massive battering-ram bumpers are in excellent shape, the stainless shines up well, and you have to admit that the stacked headlights look pretty good on this body style. The big interior is also wonderfully well-preserved. Aside from some sun fading, which is inevitable on a car with this much glass area, it's completely intact. The plush bench seats are just as soft and comfortable as your sofa at home and the button-tufted door panels will look and feel familiar to anyone who grew up in the '70s. Instrumentation is basic, with just speed and fuel level, but the compartmentalized instrument panel is easy to read and still looks quite good. There's a newer AM/FM/CD stereo in the dash that sounds good in the hushed Malibu's interior and while it's not heavy on options, you just can't duplicate that big car feel these days. Your friends will be amazed by the stretch-out room available in back and if there was ever a car designed for road trips, this is it, from the comfortable ride to the gigantic trunk that's a little scruffy but in otherwise great condition. Chevy's bulletproof 305 cubic inch V8 provides good torque and reasonable fuel economy in the big Malibu, plus a nice V8 burble from the single tailpipe out back. Everything suggests that this is the car's original engine and it's in very good condition overall. It's so clean under the hood that we have to believe it's been recently restored, because no 40-year-old car has engine enamel that looks that good. You also get a correct air cleaner with snorkel intake, fresh belts and hoses with tower hose clamps, and lots of new parts wherever you look. The TH350 3-speed automatic transmission is also original to the car and shifts smoothly to complete the luxury car feel. There's some light surface rust underneath, but you can see originality everywhere, from the floors to the exhaust system with a factory-style catalytic converter still in place. Simple hubcaps and blackwall tires emphasize the car's simplicity, and we wouldn't want it any other way. Collectable? Maybe not. Cool? Depends on who you ask. Affordable fun? Absolutely! This Malibu will bring back memories for many and offers a great alternative to the more familiar cars of the '70s.
