I'm selling my 2008 Tahoe with 5.3L V8. The truck runs awesome, no mechanical issues. I am the second owner. The first owner was a first responder in a small town in South Central Texas. I paid someone to select the best PPV tahoe at a Texas auction. This one is the cleanest one you could find. After buying I installed an LTZ console, installed new white OEM door handles, took out the speaker system and rewired in new Kicker door speakers, replaced all the door actuators and added a remote start module. The suspension was done by one of the best shops in Texas for late model GM trucks called Stoked Out Speed Shop in Lubbock Texas. I say best because they have done dozens of these tahoe’s and know exactly how to do it right. The highest quality parts from McGaughys were used to achieve the best possible ride and suspension travel. It's hard to be exact with the dropped amount as he dialed in the front and rear to sit exactly perfect. The rear springs have helper bags installed (air bag inside the actual spring with an air pump valve at the gas inlet. You can air it up if towing a trailer or something heavy to not let the rear end sag). I have trimmed the inner fender wells in order for there to be zero rubbing under normal driving conditions. The last modification was a 300 series Black Widow Venom muffler. I bought this particular muffler because of their patented “No Drone” design. I have little kids and I can tell you the tone is perfect. When you jump on the gas it very aggressive but at highway speeds it’s 95% stock interior resonance. All of the suspension, wheel and tire work was done in January of 2015. I home office so I don’t drive it a lot. The tires and suspension have around 3000 miles on them. I am selling because I am changing to a new job that allows for me a company car. As much as I would love to keep the truck as a toy, I am going to go ahead and sell it. This unit belonged to a county about an hour south of us and was used for county patrol. The county itself is just under 900 square miles and has a population of 6,000.....this Tahoe saw mostly highway driving. It belonged to one driver in its lifetime and has been kept in great mechanical and physical condition. Everything works as it should and have not found any evidence of previous body damage. There are NO light and NO sirens, however I was able to wire into a factory provision which flashes the headlamps,high beams, tail lamps, and reverse lights. I have since disconnected this option, but there are a number of wiring instructions to make it much easier to connect aftermarket lights and light bars. I can tell you this Tahoe runs much better than a standard model and does not have a speed governor, so it is a blast to drive. It has NO shakes or rattles and looks great. I've done my best to document everything I can think of. As you'll see, you will be purchasing this vehicle in better condition than when I received it. Since I've owned it, I have replaced numerous wear items (see below). All fluids I changed have been replaced with full synthetic (e.g. oil, brake fluid, radiator, transmission fluid, etc.... see below for details). Factory build date February 15, 2008 in Arlington, TexasSingle-officer vehicle (Texas DPS)Purchased by me May 26, 2012CLEAR title in-hand Vehicle is titled in Virginia, with current registration and state inspection in Texas. Vehicle is located in Texas. Why is it titled in VA? I was living there when the vehicle was purchased. So, the vehicle was in Texas 2008 - 2012, Virginia 2012 - 2013, and now back in Texas 2013 - 2014. I hope that makes sense. I've had a few people ask why the title state is different. That's why. Texas allows state residents to have out-of-state titles, so I never transferred it back to Texas (which would have cost me $, versus free to keep it titled in VA). The title is clear and clean. You can do your own title search on VA DMV's website if you like (will cost u $10 tho). No spotlight. Ever. Factory build no spot / undercover unit. Current mileage 117,110. I have owned this vehicle for just over 2 years. You'll see below that I've spent thousands of dollars on it in repairs and upgrades.All repaired/replaced parts were with real A/C Delco products from GM. After-market enhancements are higher quality that OEM parts (check the manufacturer's reps if you like). Yes, I have receipts. Up until the introduction of the Ford Explorer Police Interceptor Utility vehicle, the Chevy PPV was the only pursuit-rated SUV. This is the 2WD Police Tahoe - the PPV - not the 4WD version or SSV (Special Service Vehicle), which is NOT pursuit rated. I encourage you to do your own research on the differences between these vehicles and the civilian model Tahoes. In addition to the factory modifications, this particular vehicle has several after-market mods and is currently equipped with some first-responder type equipment. This particular vehicle has been in Texas most of its life. The vehicle was originally used by Texas DPS (State police). It was a single-officer, assigned vehicle for its first 100,000 miles. The officer's territory was a large, rural expanse of western Texas. I purchased the vehicle in 2011 with around 108,797 miles on the odometer. The current odometer reading (subject to change as I do drive it) is 117,110 miles. When I first took possession of the vehicle, I pulled out all of the interior passenger compartment parts, cleaned and gutted it. Dynaliner heat shield was added between the roof and ceiling. All interior parts were thoroughly cleaned of dust. The engine throttle body assembly was removed and thoroughly cleaned. The factory air-intake system was replaced with an AIRAID cold air induction system. There is normal wear on the exterior for a vehicle of this type, brand, and age. By that I mean things such as minor paint marks or scuffs. What do you expect? No major damage or cosmetic blemishes. NO accidents or body work since I've owned it. I cannot say what happened to it prior to my ownership. Do your homework and check CarFax. When I purchased the vehicle, I found no reports of accidents or significant damage to the vehicle. If you need another antenna, it's there - saving you the trouble of wiring it (bit PITA) - If my memory serves me well, the max amperage from Aux battery to after-market equipment is 300 amps, fused under hood - I replaced the factory tires with these beefier (and larger diameter) Cooper off-road capable tires for two reasons: first, the OEM tires that GM uses on the Tahoe PPV suck balls; second, I needed light off-road capability but I also wanted the PPV and not 4WD SSV - This vehicle DOES have the limited slip differential and 3.73 rear axle ratio - It does NOT have a tow bar (only the SSV's have that option; this is a PPV) - I have the full build-out sheet. This was added on purpose to make sure there was no water leaking into the trunklid after rear camera install. There wasn't a problem, this was a pro-active step. Yes, it's not cosmetically ideal, but this is a working vehicle. I chose practicality over appearance. You won't notice this in the photos. It is only visible if you're looking for it. I am mentioning this here in the interest of full disclosure on my part. - Due to oversize tires currently on the vehicle, there is slight rubbing on right front wheel inner fender wall at low speeds, if you are at just the right elevation level of the wheel. Does NOT impede normal or high speed driving. You may notice it when parking on angled surfaces, that's it. If Buyer replaces tires with smaller size, this problem would go away. TITLE & TRANSFER - Vehicle is titled in Virginia and registered in Texas - You will need to fill out 2 forms: a Texas form 130-U for transfer of vehicle, and the Virginia title - If you are not a Texas resident, you won't need to form 130-U (but I shall) - If you are a Texas resident, you keep the 130-U and take it to DMV along with the signed Virginia title - Buyer gets the car + bill-of-sale on payment. Title transfer after payment clears. - Title transfer AFTER payment clears. No exceptions. - You will keep the Virginia title after I have signed it, and take that along with the bill-of-sale to your state's DMV - Both Texas and Virginia law require title transfers within 30 days of sale - You will receive bill-of-sale immediately upon making payment (no holding period).
