Up for sale is my 1979 ramp bed style tow truck. It runs rides and drives good. It has a 350 with a 4 speed manual trans. Power steering and brakes only as far as options. Motor runs great with no noises smokes or major leaks. Low mileage. Trans shifts smooth again with no abnormal noises. Sometimes when starting out (reverse or forward) the clutch will chatter until you get going but not all the time and there is no noticeable slip in the clutch operation. Brakes feel great and all 6 tires are basically new. Has dual exhaust with glasspack mufflers and turn downs just after the cab. Sounds nice, not overly loud. All the lights on the truck work with the exception of the left bed side running lights. it just needs the power wire run up the side I just ran out of time. Taillight assemblies are new as are some of the running lights on the bed and cab. The cab and front clip are solid although not rust free. The bed is also very solid. It could use some new siding as seen in the pictures but structurally is solid. Bed is diamond plate with a bolt on cover that holds a spare front and rear wheel and tire. There is a storage box on the right side of the bed. The storage area behind the cab has locking doors on both ends. (padllock) There is a heavy duty warn winch mounted under the bed level. It works great but it does have a connection that needs to be fixed at the remote connection. You need to hold pressure on it to use it. At bed lever is a shelf that has a small tool box you could use for supplies or straps or whatever you need to carry with. The top of the storage area is built heavy duty and could haul other items like atvs, parts or ? The tie downs are chain ratchets on all four corners that work or you could use standard nylon car ratchet straps if you prefer. The bed length is 16 feet long and uses slide out ramps at the back to load and unload vehicles. If I keep the truck I would cut the front box down to bed level and use the underneath to store straps, tools etc. and mount the winch at bed level which would give you another 3-4 feet of bed length. I have hauled vehicles 100 miles round trip at 65+ mph with no issues. I would have no problem driving it home or towing with it as is. Besides the occasional clutch chatter, the only issues Ive noticed is the radio doesnt work very well. Both door windows need lube and adjustments. They work but you have to play with them to get them up and down. Price is more or less where I need to be but feel free to make me an offer or something you want to use towards the purchase.
