I have been on ebay for over a decade and pride myself in describing a car in a manner in which I would feel confident in purchasing if I was viewing it. I also take pride in having a 100% feedback rating. I am a collector-restorer who is anal about cars and especially my own. I took 116 pictures of this vehicle to show its true condition. It saves me from sending more photos to people when they ask if they can see more of it. As the saying goes "a picture is worth 1000 words" right? Then give them time to upload and enjoy the view of this incredibly clean, rust free, survivor, Blazer. Background The say that in the 70's, around 8-10% of all Chevrolet Blazers produced were two wheel drive. While they were rare then, today they are increasingly rare. Most blazers were used like the full size SUV's we see today. They towed boats, were used for plow trucks, off road duties, pulled campers and in 1977, they even had a chalet model that was its own built-in camper right from GM. So with those mentioned, it makes it apparent that the 2 wheel drive models were limited then, but sought after now for a classic cruising machine that can fit the whole family. I found this truck in Tucson AZ earlier this year. It was purchased at Sands Chevrolet and the dealer is still there. It had never left the state of AZ until this year. It was in the great protective care of an owner who had it for over 30+ years. It was his baby and it shows. Exterior Information Most vintage vehicles of the dry desert south would be sun baked on the interior as well as the paint. What you see here is an exception. I would bet that there is not another 1977 2wd blazer out there as clean as this one from the bottom up. This truck is a true survivor as all the buckskin paint is still original! I did re spray texture the roof and cap due to some luggage rack removal spots being filled on top. Also the white two tone portion was re-done due to the original owner having some type of decal on each corner of each panel and it ate through the paint. It was an easy fix and had to be done. The paint shows no wear through or fading anywhere. There is some slight crazing on the top of the tailgate and after nearly 40 years, there are a few nicks and lower body panel chips from driving. One can see by looking at the underside that this has been a desert climate truck. When was the last time you saw a square body truck this clean? There is not a speckle of rust to be found on the frame or undercarriage. In fact when I got it home, I treated it to a wipe down with WD-40 to get the AZ dirt off the bottom. Hand written assembly line marks can be seen on the frame rails yet. All the red oxide primer is still visible as is the factory overspray when they painted it. I was sold as soon as I took a look underneath. Interior Information Moving into the interior, you can tell this Blazer was sheltered when not in use. Even trucks here in the Midwest will have cracks by the dash speaker grille area. This is one of the cleanest looking dashes I've seen in a long time. There is no fading or wear out on anything. The interior is the upgraded Cheyenne package. It got the ultra cool plaid seats and a console along with the wood grain treatment. The interior is all original except for the door panels. while they are original to the truck, they were starting to get chalky on the top and I had them wrapped in a vinyl material to match the rest of the interior. Reproduction door panels don't fit the best and I wanted to keep the originals. The carpet looks like new throughout and I put carpet protector down in place of floor mats. I did have a spare tire cover made as the original was beat up and took away from the nice look of the interior. The inside of the cap is near perfect, no scratches or chips. I did add the bamboo look of reed to the side windows. I don't like tint on older vehicles and it is just taped on the aluminum frames and can be easily removed. It really helps with the sun while riding in the back. Top is removable and looks great like a c-10 pickup with a back seat. A modern radio was added along with 4 speakers prior to my ownership. An I pod or satellite radio can be used with it as I have done. Mechanical Information Engine is still the original 305 2 bl and was upgraded at some point with a mild cam and roller tip rockers. The turbo 400 trans works flawlessly. A MSD box was added to the ignition system and I had re-located it so it would not take away from the clean engine bay. The original air cleaner, valve covers and exhaust manifolds were gone prior to my ownership. It has a nice sound with the headers and new full length dual exhaust with resonators that is a year old and was not a cheap job. A/C has been converted to 134 and blows very cold. The day I took the thermometer picture I was traveling about 40 mph and we had 87 degrees with a near 70 degree dew point. It doesn't take long to cool off inside. Truck was lowered via front spindles and springs and lowered leafs and shackles out back. Frame is non cut. Wisconsin roads are horrible here and it rides well on nice roads, but like any short wheelbase if the road is bumpy, you will feel it. All glass is original as is all the trim. 1977 was the only year for the gold-yellow striped side trim and this truck has really nice trim through out. Rear bumper and hitch are original GM and I did replace the front bumper to clean up the look. I still have the original with the tusk looking bumper guards. The wheels are custom made by circle racing wheels in CA. They are 20/8 and 20/9 in the rear. They are the closest looking to a steel wheel I know of unlike a lot of the "smoothie" wheels out there. They were not cheap and I have $3500 wrapped up in the combo. NOS caps were used and I do have the original 15" rallies on new tires set aside. Final Thoughts The truck gets attention...A LOT of attention. people always ask about the wheels and just love the look of the whole truck. They always say "where are you going to find another?" That statement could not be more true. There are very few of these around and in a non-restored condition. I know I would never restore one of these and probably won't come across another this clean top to bottom. Sit back and take your time scrolling through the 100+ pictures and the 2 minute video of the trucks overall view and sound of the engine and exhaust. I recommend an inspection prior to bidding. Keep in mind that I am a collector and restorer of cars so I like to show all I can to make the purchase of an older vehicle trouble free. Vehicle is sold as is where is and no guarantees come with it. I would not hesitate to drive it across the country. I have taken it on several hundred mile trips with no issue. Keep in mind that this is not a new vehicle and things can occur or things may be noticed that were accidentally left out of the ad. I do my best to explain in detail and show the truck in a way that one knows what they are getting. You can't buy a vehicle after seeing 12 pictures and a 5 sentence ad. I can be reached anytime at 414-688-060four and truck is located 90 miles north of Chicago in a suburb of Milwaukee, WI. Hi, you are looking at a 1977 Chevy K5 Blazer with all original miles! This truck only has 78,116 on it and is in remarkable condition for it's age! Was told the truck is from AZ and one could argue that it is in better than new condition. This is an awesome truck and I would not hesitate to jump in it and drive it across the country! I have been told that this a numbers matching truck. It has the rare and highly desirable 400 Cubic Inch (6.6L) small block (torque monster) that was freshened up, with a turbo 400 automatic transmission. Rebuilt Quadra jet 750 carb New MSD cap and plug wires, and new plugs Factory air conditioning that works great and has been converted to modern 134a. It has factory cruise control (currently disconnected because I changed the air cleaner to a chrome unit). It is a 4x4 but has been converted from a full time 4x4 to a far more desirable selectable 4x4 with the installation of new Warn lockouts. Freshly painted Dodge Go Mango orange (same color as on the special edition Dodge Daytona R/T series cars and trucks)! Even the inserts on the new rims were painted to match the truck. The paint matches the truck’s original factory color really well. New rubber seals were placed on the doors and rear lift gate. The frame was sandblasted and then epoxy coatedPrior to paint it had new quarter panels and new inner fenders installedNew rims & tires Tilt wheel Power breaks Power steering New break system New dual exhaust system (sounds really good!)Tinted windows DANA-44 front/12-bolt rear axle combination If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email or call us at any time!
