This Custom truck features an extremely strong running 350 V-8 engine with a 4-bolt main, and only has about 5000 miles clocked on a complete rebuild. This truck runs and drives just as it should with absolutely no issues. The Turbo 350 automatic transmission was also completely rebuilt, and shifts perfectly in and out of gear. For durability and safety; this truck had the front suspension entirely rebuilt, and also a complete rebuild of the power brake system for excellent stopping power. Sitting on American Racing chrome wheels and radial tires; this truck has an awesome stance! The true dual exhaust with angled tips out the back really sounds awesome! In the interior you will find a factory in-dash tachometer, factory tilt column, padded dash, deluxe wood grain dash panel, and a custom headliner with built-in CD stereo & speakers. The bench seat, carpet, door panels and headliner are truly like new with no visible wear to be found. You want to talk rare? Here you go. Beautiful 1945 Chevrolet heavy half ton pickup (115” wheelbase). So here is the story… In 1945; civilians were not able to purchase a new vehicle. All the parts and materials necessary to build new vehicles were going to the war effort. In order for a civilian to purchase a new vehicle in 1945; they would need to obtain a ‘Certificate of War Necessity’. In order to get that certificate; the person would need to be a business owner, and be able to prove that a vehicle was necessary to In early 1945; a farmer in Bowling Green, Ohio applied for a Certificate of War Necessity, because he needed a new truck to sustain his farm. The government approved the certificate, and in July 1945; this truck was built at the GM plant in Norwood, Ohio, and then sold to the farmer.Only about 200 of these trucks were built in 1945, because most of the requests for certificates were denied. sustain their business. This rare truck recently completed a 5-year, nut and bolt restoration. There are only 121 miles on the truck since the restoration was completed, and is all original with numbers matching motor and transmission.This truck runs and drives perfectly. The motor starts right up with no problems. No signs of smoke from the tailpipe. The transmission shifts just like it should.The interior is brand new. The wood-plank bed is completely redone and beautiful. There are simply no issues with this truck. Also included is a rare 1945 Chevy truck brochure which is 2 sided and gives a lot of drawings and info on the truck. It is about 16”x 22” when open. One of the paragraphs from it reads “For 1945 Chevrolet has been authorized to build light delivery pickup trucks on a 115 inch wheelbase chassis which will be offered by Chevrolet dealers to qualified essential users”. Also included are a shop manual for 1942-1948 Passenger cars & 1942-1946 Trucks, a 2009 edition of Chevs of the 40’s magazine, and a photo album filled with pictures of the restoration. I also have a freshly painted spare tire rack which mounts under the truck, and 4 original wheels with tires. This is a beautiful and extremely rare truck that is truly a great investment. You want to talk rare? Here you go. Beautiful 1945 Chevrolet heavy half ton pickup (115” wheelbase). So here is the story… In 1945; civilians were not able to purchase a new vehicle. All the parts and materials necessary to build new vehicles were going to the war effort. In order for a civilian to purchase a new vehicle in 1945; they would need to obtain a ‘Certificate of War Necessity’. In order to get that certificate; the person would need to be a business owner, and be able to prove that a vehicle was necessary to In early 1945; a farmer in Bowling Green, Ohio applied for a Certificate of War Necessity, because he needed a new truck to sustain his farm. The government approved the certificate, and in July 1945; this truck was built at the GM plant in Norwood, Ohio, and then sold to the farmer.Only about 200 of these trucks were built in 1945, because most of the requests for certificates were denied. sustain their business. This rare truck recently completed a 5-year, nut and bolt restoration. There are only 121 miles on the truck since the restoration was completed, and is all original with numbers matching motor and transmission.This truck runs and drives perfectly. The motor starts right up with no problems. No signs of smoke from the tailpipe. The transmission shifts just like it should.The interior is brand new. The wood-plank bed is completely redone and beautiful. There are simply no issues with this truck. Also included is a rare 1945 Chevy truck brochure which is 2 sided and gives a lot of drawings and info on the truck. It is about 16”x 22” when open. One of the paragraphs from it reads “For 1945 Chevrolet has been authorized to build light delivery pickup trucks on a 115 inch wheelbase chassis which will be offered by Chevrolet dealers to qualified essential users”. Also included are a shop manual for 1942-1948 Passenger cars & 1942-1946 Trucks, a 2009 edition of Chevs of the 40’s magazine, and a photo album filled with pictures of the restoration.
