This true factory "SS" Nova features a terrific repaint in Cinnamon Red, a beautiful mostly original SS Deluxe interior, and a ground pounding 454 crate engine. This Nova has the manly electric exhaust cut outs which are perfect for rolling into a car show or cruise in. This Nova is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Red exterior over Black SS deluxe vinyl interior. This is an exceptional color scheme and the bucket seats with floor shifter and rally gauges really set this Nova apart from the others. The previous owner had this Nova for over 16 years and it comes with a 3 inch binder full of old photographs and receipts. Exterior The Cinnamon Red exterior is in great driver condition. This Nova was repainted years ago and the paint still has a great shine but has some minor flaws here and there around the car. The paint is in great driver condition and both bumpers are in good shape. The SS Nova stripes were just added and look fantastic on the car. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires have great tread left and are correctly sized 215/70/15. The wheels are in great shape. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in good condition. Trunk is very solid and clean. Interior The Black SS deluxe vinyl interior of this Nova is in fantastic original condition. The original seat covers are in superb condition and have no rips or tears or seam splits and have no major wear at all, outside of a small spot on drivers bolster area. The original carpet is in remarkable condition with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading. The stereo has been upgraded to a modern CD/Mp3 Aiwa player with 4 newer speakers. It plays very well and sounds great and the presets work. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is new and in great condition and the package tray is in great shape as well. All interior/exterior lights and gauges work as they should. The horn, stereo, wipers, blower motor, and turn signals also work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no smoke aroma what so ever. Mechanical This Nova SS is in great mechanical condition and the 454 engine is an excellent upgrade with gobs of power and torque. Its a tight fit but so worth it to have this massive engine under the hood with unlimited potential. It has been in the car for years but has less than 5000 miles on it per previous owner. We have driven this car numerous times around town and it always performs very well, does not run hot, rids tight, and is always a joy to drive. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Nova is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs great. The brakes work well and do not pull to one side or the other. True dual exhaust was added with upgraded headers and electric cut outs which dump out right after the headers for an unforgettable exhaust tone. By a single button in the dash you can determine how aggressive you want the exhaust to sound, its a true joy to drive into a show with them open and everyone looking at your Nova. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory AC car and we have the AC compressor and lines but 454 big block AC brackets are needed to reinstall compressor. For Auction is a 1969 SS 396 Nova .It was bought new from Thayer Chevrolet in Bowling Green Ohio .The Nova, an 11A build date, was ordered by a friend with an L78 375 hp engine , bench seat column shift automatic transmission . It logged a few street miles and then was built as a SS/EA NHRA class racer and sometime street racer. I've included a picture of it in race trim from back then. It was sold in late 1970 to make way for another race car . In 1995 the present owner found the car for sale and we realized it was the same car we raced as kids. The car was painted and a new vinyl top and front seat cover installed in 2001.It has some tears in the rear seat, headliner and carpets. It was stored again until this summer when we set a fresh 1972 402 Big Block engine , a 400 turbo trans, 10 bolt rear end and new exhaust to get it back on the street. The car has patches over minor rust on the floor and the left rear gas tank bracket is rusty. The body has some filler and has single stage paint. It is a fun driver as-is or would make a worthwhile restoration project. The car is being sold As-Is No Warranty and is for sale locally. This Stunning Classic underwent a nut and bolt restoration in 2004 and has had very limited use since. Repainted in correct original Madeira Maroon (Paint code "N-N") over perfect original sheet metal. This investment grade car retains its original quarter panels, floor pans, as well as trunk floor. This car has never been cut on, the only sheet metal change made was 2 NOS "GM" front fenders. Powered by the original numbers matching 327ci/350hp (See photos) sitting in a highly detailed engine bay and backed by a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission (GM replacement, 1965 casting number and NO vin) The rear end is a 12 bolt and we just installed a new posi unit with 3.55 gears. The L79 engine was the most powerful non fuel injected small block built by Chevrolet and is easily identified by its exclusive dual-snorkel chrome air breather, holley 4-barrel carburetor on an aluminum intake with chromed Turbo-fire valve covers. The interior is found to be in excellent condition as well, the seats, door panels, dash pad, headliner as well as carpet are all extremely nice and free of any rips or tears. The only visible wear or age is some minor pitting on the original center console, the previous owner wanted to keep the car as original as possible during the restoration and did not replace the console.
