Up for sale is my 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS High Sport Edition. 167k miles and going up-daily driver. Power everything with heated seats and everything works. Cold AC,all the gauges work as they should. Nice sound system with XM radio(need to subscribe),CD player works and sounds great. The car has Onstar but I do not have service on it. I have 2 sets of keys with the original window sticker. The interior is in good shape,the headliner,carpet,door panels,dash etc. are all in good condition with no problems,there is a couple cigarette burns in the rear seat,the front seats show very little wear. The silver dash kit was put on at the dealer. The paint is ok-it looks great from 20' away but the closer you get the more you see the scratches and small spots. It also has little rust starting on the drivers side front fender bottom. Small ding on the rear bumper. 4 Goodyear tires with plenty of tread. Good inspection sticker.I drive this car 200+ miles a week.. The car is not perfect and has some issues: Overdrive is not working. I took it to a transmission shop and was told it was probably the spline gear. A trans shop could fix it or you could put another tranny in it///////Sometimes the check engine light comes on,it is showing a P0420 code-oxygen sensor or catalytic converter-I think oxygen sensor and will try to check it this week///////There was a vibration at about 60-70 mph, I thought it is the wheel bearings and put a new set on but now I changed tires around and think the tires are out of balance or one has broken belts-I will have all 4 balanced. I am only selling this car basically because I don't want to spend any more money on it. I will consider any offers but keep in mind that Ebay will charge me $125 to sell it. The car is for trade local so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Pick up is expected within 1 week I will help with shipping if needed. NOTE: the Monte Carlo emblems on the sides and trunk have been painted white,I'll put new pics up if possible. 4 newer Goodyear tires with plenty of tread. Good inspection sticker. Issues: (1)Overdrive is not working. I took it to a transmission shop and was told it could be solenoids or the spline gear. The spline gear would be $500-$700 the solenoids would be around $200 or so. They seemed to think it was the spline but said it was unusual for an 03 to have that problem because they was made better.They also said it's not gonna hurt anything but gas mileage driving it and I drive it everyday. (2)The ABS light comes on sometimes-I took it to Autozone and had it scanned and it showed nothing so I have no idea whats going on,the front hubs/wheel bearings with ABS sensors has been replaced along with 1 of the sensor wires.The next thing I would change is the rear hubs(sensors are built in). (3)Sometimes the check engine light comes on,it is showing a P0420 code. I think the gasket between the catalytic converter and manifold needs replaced because I think it is leaking a bit and throwing off the oxygen sensor reading and setting the code-could be wrong. Out of the 3 issues #1 is the one I would fix and will fix if I don't sell the car. I am only selling because I need a truck so feel free to make an offer but don't insult me-$2000 will not buy the car. I will respond to every offer. The car is for trade local so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Pick up is expected within 1 week I will help with shipping if needed. 1987 Monte Carlo SS. Car is in very original condition. Paint is original, still shines well but it has chips and thin spots. Car has no rust and the floors and trunk are very good. Original interior is in very good condition with no rips or tears and the dash is perfect. Only interior problem is one hinge is broken on the console lid but it still opens and closes fine. Somewhat rare lightly optioned car, 305 four barrel with 200r 4 speed auto trans. no AC, no power windows or locks and no cruise control. Runs great with no mechanical issues. All new brakes and brake lines, new front wheel bearings. New dual exhaust, new rims and tires. Car comes with the original sport wheels as well as the wheels in the photos. Car has a clear West Virginia title.
