Greetings! Up for your consideration is an awesome Z28 convertible for sale. It is in very good shape for being 21 yrs old. Lots of mods and love on this car. Paint is in good shape, I'd give it an 8 out of 10. I can't tell if the car has been repainted but bumpers and a few spots definitely. The vinyl graphics are faded but still give it character. No signs of any collision anywhere I look other than some stress signs on rear bumper, as if from parking bumps. No signs of rust either, other than a couple of 1/4" holes thru the passenger side floor board it is solid. The top is in very good shape except for the rear plastic window- opaque with a small crack and seal around it is coming apart but does not leak. The power top operates smooth as it should. Power windows are a bit lazy but work. 18" tires are like new, installed by the previous owner mid 2014. Chrome rims are nice but starting to peel. Aftermarket ram air hood is in great shape but not functional. The LT1 engine has an aftermarket camshaft and the heads have been ported, emissions have been removed but available if you want to put them back. The exhaust is pacesetter headers to full magnaflow exhaust, no cat. The 4spd auto transmission was rebuilt in 2013 and works fine, fluid is clean, does have an aftermarket pan. The rear shocks are QA1 adjustables. Brake rotors are drilled and slotted. The interior has been tastefully redone with matching door panels and blue trim. The previous owner bought the car in 2006, doesnt have any knowledge of the specifics of the mods done to the car. He's an older gent and just wanted a cool convertible to pimp around in. He added aprox 8K in the 9 yrs he owned it. I took the car as payment for another job a few weeks ago, it's still titled in his name. I installed a new Battery, O2 sensors, filters, wipers, oil, optispark, wireset, water pump, thermostat, hoses, valve cover gaskets, valve seals, and intake manifold gaskets- all new not remanufactured. Car does not leak any oil or coolant. Starts up every time, has good heat and a/c. Sounds really good and overpowers the undersized tires no prob. It drives and handles well, no rattles or squeaks. It has an alarm system and comes with 2 sets of keys and remotes. If you're in the Holbrook NY area, swing on by my shop and take a look. This Camaro was ordered new from the factory and has had only one owner (me). it has been hand washed only and now is garaged and covered. I have a complete history of servicing and the original drivers manual. It has a T-roof with removable panels. Steering wheel needs reconditioning at two spots. The engine overheated and seized when attempting to repair it, so it needs to be rebuilt on the existing block (if you want it to remain a classic). ********New 383 Stroker Motor and Performance Rebuilt TH350 Transmission.********** Up for sale is a 1981 Z28 Camaro, factory Z28, tilt wheel steering, power locks, power windows, T-tops, factory a/c but a/c was removed and a/c delete box was installed to clean up engine bay. Factory Z28 wheels with decent life left on the tires. The car has been repainted several years ago but the paint is showing its age, looks great from 20ft but up close there are imperfections which are included in the pictures. There is one minor dent on the passenger side door that is visible in one of the pictures. Inner fenders have been replaced and there are two small rust holes on the rocker panel area, one each side of the car as pictured. Frame is solid and rust free, floor pans are solid with no holes or rust, including the truck pan. The car has been garage kept and well maintained for the 7 years that I have owned it, and never driven in the snow or on salty roads. The wipers, lights, horn, defog, heat, power locks and windows all work. The power locks and windows are a bit sluggish however and have been that way since I have owned the car. The T-tops do leak some water as the weather stripping is dry and cracked, but I don't drive the car in the rain so I never bothered to replace it. The interior is in decent shape, with all gauges working and no tears in the seats. Some scratches near the rear seats. All in all, good reliable car that needs nothing to be a great driver, but don't expect a show winner. I don't hesitate to take it on long trips and daily drive it in the summer spring and fall. Love the car, but need something I can drive in the winter. Car has a lot of work done to it with details below. Receipts and service records are available. Engine: The engine is new 383 Stroker with about 6000 miles on it, amsoil synthetic used since 3000 miles. LOTS of power, about 450hp, car is a blast to drive! The choke plate is not connected but I do have all of the hardware for it. Trans:Completely rebuilt TH350 using a transgo shift improver kit for increased line pressure and other reliability mods. The Transgo kits are the best available for the Th350. Finned aluminum pan with drain plug. All new borg warner clutches and band. B&M 2000rpm torque master converter. Shifts firm but not hard. About 5000 miles on the trans. This auction is for a bone stock 1998 Camaro z28 6-speed convertible with 155,000 miles and miles will go up slightly as I'm currently using it as a daily driver to work. the car is rust free and in really nice shape with the exception of some minor dings, scratch's here and there and a scuff on the left front fender that would probably buff out. the convertible top works but the frame looks to be missing 2 bolts that connect the arms together on the passenger side, I found a hole new piece on ebay for $145. the top looks almost perfect with no major leaks that I've noticed. the leather is super nice with very little to no wear. The leather on the steering wheel is wore threw but I have another wheel that I will throw in with the sale. The carpets are in very nice shape with some minor stains in the back floor area. the dash has no cracks and is clean. I have all new upper and lower ball joints that go with the sale ( not sure if it needs them but they are included ). The car appears to have been painted at one time but shows nicely and was repainted the stock color. Tires need to be replaced, brakes stop good, a/c is cold heat is hot, power options all work and no service lights on the dash. car rides nice on the highway at 75 and transmission shifts clean n smooth. the cars engine is strong and issue free, NO smoking, knocking, ticking SHE FIRES RIGHT UP AT THE TAP OF THE KEY. The power steering pump is going bad and I'm going to be replacing it with a new one and there is some faint noise in the rear sounds like a axle bearing. In my opinion is does not sound like a rear end, the more I've been driving the car it seems to have gotten quieter ( the car spent a lot of time in the last owners garage sitting). However it could be the rear but I don't believe it is and at highway speeds the sound is gone. THIS CAR IS NOT PERFECT BUT IS DEFINITLY A GOOD SOLID DRIVER. VERY ORIGINAL, ADULT OWNED Z-28 CAMARO. THIS IS NOT SOME KIDDIES PIECE OF TRASH, IT IS ADULT OWNED WELL PRESERVED SURVIVOR. LOADED WITH OPTIONS. 42,505 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I have had this Z-28 Camaro sitting in my heated garage for a while. There have been 2 previous adult owners before me, both kept it in a garage. This is a running driving, turn key car. It is mostly original, the only paint work I can see on the car is the front left fender and it was repainted years ago. The car has a clean Auto check report with no accidents and with a possible score of 13-37 it scores a 37. Positives........... This car is very rust free. The bottom (underneath) of the car looks great. Solid doors. Solid floors. Solid trunk, with factory mat and space saver spare. Solid pan under rear bumper. Solid frame rails. No leakes. No cracks on dash. No warps or dryness in the urethane bumpers. All the spoilers intact and in good condition. No air shocks, the springs are perfect and the stance is correct. The engine runs great, the trans shifts as it should. The brakes work great. The cowl induction hood flap works as it should. The car is all there, the interior is all original. Still has A/C intact, the belt is off because it needs to be changed over to new style freon. It has a Factory Posi rear. The car basically just needs some dings, small dents (light body work), and scratch's sanded out and a new paint job, big plus, it has never been repainted, THAT IS RARE, so what you see is what you get. The car is mostly stock, and is FULLY loaded, power everything, cruise, tilt, non leaking t-tops, upgraded aluminum wheels, deluxe interior and every thing that comes with a Z-28. All the dome lights, fasten seat belt lights, blinkers, cruise all that stuff works. The doors close nice and tight and don't sag. You can wash this car, aim the hose at the t-tops or leave it outside in the rain, and it DOES NOT leak. Very tasteful modifications that anyone would want on one of these cars........ The only way to get a 350 4bbl in 81 was to get a automatic, the sticks came with a 305. The engine was stock with like 170HP (lame) this engine was rebuilt with a Hotter cam and other performance internals, MUCh more HP. but look at it, it looks stock. and is very reliable, not wild. The car has Headers and real THREE INCH ! dual exhaust and even has dual cats to keep it legal. The trans has a shift kit, so it nails all the shifts with solid precision. The car has super solid frame rails with sub frame race connectors welded in , and it was done very professionally. The bad.................. The car has surface rust on the lower out side of the drivers door, needs to be sanded or blasted. Some light dings and scratch's. There was a rust spot behind drivers side rear wheel, the rust was cut out and a new piece of metal welded in, it is left raw so you can see its not bad, a little filler over it is all it needs to be finished, just wanted for a buyer to see what they are getting. Some Gauges work intermittently, Bad connection at the fuse link or something. The radio was cut out for a newer style din type Cd stereo. The interior is original and old and showing some wear. The rear package tray (shelf) is sun faded, a brand new one with sound insulation comes with the car. Thats it, who describes a car this completely, I Do! good luck finding that with other listings. I really wanted to finish this car, but I am moving south in the spring and want to liquidate my stuff, 81 is the year I graduated High school so it had some sentimental issues attached. It is really hard to find these in original condition like this one. My plan was to paint the car Viper Yellow with silver Z-28 Stripes, I even bought the paint already.
