I have been working on a bucket item for 10 years. A small block chevrolet with twin turbos was the dream and now I have satisfied that dream. Is your dream to drive 1000HP on the street? The car began as LS1 fuel injected 5.7L left over corvette engines of the day. I decided to keep the electronic ignition and fuel injected setup.1992 Chevrolet Camaro Z28TT 25th Anniversary Heritage Edition;Engine;Engine work done by Mark Hedrick of Jacksonville FloridaEngine fully internally balanced for 7800RPM, build/balance spec sheet available400 CID GM High Performance Bowtime Sportsman: 12480175 (cleaned and notched for rods)Eagle 4340 350 Internally Balanced CrankshaftEagle 4340 Connecting RodsJE Pistons 9.31:1 JE-242885Custom COMP Camshaft 12-000-11 (.624/.624), cam spec sheet availableCOMP Cams Solid Roller Rockers (CC 873-16)Jesel Pro Series 23deg Offet Roller Rockers KPS-01001O-4 (heads machined for stud girdle)Brodix R0011 Cylinder Heads 4.160" .036MILS @ 12-13deg. You really need to see the car to really appreciate the time and energy that 10 years and alot of $$$ went into building this car. I will happily take you for a ride @ high boost to convince you of the power. I once ran the car @ 1/4mile track for 8.98 @ 138mph and drove the car home from the track. It is a legal streetable, titled car that is registered and insured as I write this. I'm sure I am leaving out alot of details in this lising. The car was originally designed and driven for SCCA Road Course events and has seen alot of track time. The engine is fresh with less than 1000 miles of light tuning, and 30+ miles track tuning in full race mode. The computer allows you to change profiles for any conditions.Only serious offers need apply. Her name is 'Becky' after a girl in the military I knew that rocked my world. In the past, I've been asked alot of questions. So here goes. Phase I was translating the top end to accompany 15lbs of boost. So I installed 90lb fuel injectors, upped the rail pressure to 65psi, swapped out all the fuel delivery system to aeromotive products with -8 feeds and -6 returns for a pressure return system. The fuel tank was modified to take the baffles out and install foam, to include 2 welded -8 outs, one for drain, one to feed the beast. Once the top end was complete, the engine would fall on its face around 4800rpm. Typical of a small displacement engine. Phase II was adding the turbos. Initially went thru the engineering with knock-off cheap turbos to understand geometry, and to tune computer, sensors to forced induction. Started making 8-12lbs of boost and immediately began eating transmissions due to all the torque. Phase III was all about the power. Build bottom end by Hedrick Motorsports to engineering specs of 15lbs boost max, 6800rpm cam to match the top end breathability. Tired of incremental improvements, I threw money at it. Upgraded the top end for Jesel Pro shaft mounted rockers, 650ft/lb springs, solid cam and lifters, the works. Even re-benched the heads for 18lbs, just in case =]. Got over 112Hp out of head work, 262Hp from the bottom end, and another 101Hp from the 2 stage GReddy boost conroller system. No more changing wastegate springs. Ok, in the description it does NOT recommend 18lbs of boost, well, because I did a test run and made 18lbs of boost. Engine builder not happy, but impressed it held together. It did require head gaskets due to an oil leak from the passenger side. Ok, full Phase III build is tuned and eating transmissions, so I install a Tremek T-56, serious monster transmission this is. I take it to the track, and cant keep the tires on the ground. So I tune, and test, and tune and test, for months. After I figured out how to keep the tires from spinning in 3rd I ran a 8.98 quarter mile @ 132mph, sloppy 60ft, but hey, its a stick. Ok, tune some more, nobody knows the Accel DFI system, so I learned. The car is a beast, highly dangerous at any speed. The power it can produce, even with 93 octane in low boost, is neck snapping torque of pure power. The turbos dont really spin up until about 2800rpm, but you better be holding on when it does. Ive been trapped @ 138mph @ 5600rpm, I am not sure of the cars top speed. In the pictures you will see the speedo pegged. I have it chipped @ 7000rpm, the cam is designed to drop off after 6800rpm, and the engine is designed to max @ 9000rpm. You do the math. The car will do 18lbs+ boost, just not a good idea. =] In full race mode with 112octane, did 1012, 1024 and 1016 on the dyno. Didnt have enough time to finish the tune. Be a man, this car isnt a toy, its pure power. More than I envisioned during the build. This was built right. Ive added a burnout video, click >> HERE :<<
