This old workhorse was found in 2005 tucked away in the original owners barn. It is a cool surviving, original farm truck with patina and rust. Originally purchased in Romeo, MI from Carter-Rymills Chevy-Olds (still has the remains of the dealer sticker). It was registered/plated until 1981 and after that it was only driven short distances around the farm. The original owner caused the dents on the passenger side brushing against a few trees once he couldn't see well enough to drive it anymore. The truck starts right up, drives, stops and shifts good. The truck is in good mechanical condition, the Stovebolt-Six engine runs very well without smoking or burning oil. This was the last year GM produced the 235 engine and it has the original oil-bath air cleaner. This is a base factory truck with radio delete and the only factory options it has is the deluxe recirculating heater and door locks. It has manual steering and manual drum brakes. The interior is in ok condition for the age but has tears in the vinyl seat that have only been getting worse. The body has rust along with older floor, fender and rocker panel repairs. The front cab mounts are rotted and wood spacers were placed inbetween. The wood bed is falling apart. No cracked glass but windshield has a wiper mark. Since 2005 it has received many new parts and it had been driven daily for several years. I was focused on making sure that it was mechanically sound while leaving its original look. New driver and passenger lap seatbelts were installed. There are less than a thousand miles on the brakes/wheel cylinders and rebuilt master cylinder. The clutch and slave cylinder only a few hundred miles on them. Here is a list of some of the new and replaced parts. - New Radiator although the paint is now peeling off - New Brake Pads - New Wheel Cylinders - New Clutch - New Slave Cylinder - Rebuilt Master Cylinder - New Battery and battery box - New Chrome side mirror - New glove box - New Seatbelts - New Dome lamp The carburetor should be rebuilt soon since it bogs when you push the pedal but once the truck is warmed up it seems to be fine. The exhaust pipe will need to be replaced as it has pin holes and is broken in a couple spots (currently held together with hose clamps). It could use new tires, the current ones have developed light cracks but hold air and are drivable. The truck is complete except for missing its hubcaps. Comes with the original 1962 Owner's Manual. I have too many projects so it needs to find a new home and I want to see it enjoyed by someone else. Truck is located in Ypsilanti, MI. FRONT END IS FAT MAN DROPPED SPINDALS 2'' TUBULAR CONTROL ARMS 11" ROTORS GAS TANK HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THE CAB AND MOVED TO THE REAR TANKS CO. WE DID RED OX ON THE SPOTS OF THE TRUCK WE CHANGED SO IT WOULD BLEND IN FOR THE TIME BEING AND PAINT IT AT ANOTHER DATE. TO THE BODY, FRONT THE BUMPER AND GRILL HAVE BEEN MOVED IN WHICH TUCKS THE FRONT IN 55 CHEVY TRUCK TURNSIGNALS FRENCHED IN THE BUMPER HOOD MARKERS SHAVED. THE FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING HAS BEEN MOVED DOWN A 2 INCHES WHICH GIVES THE MILD APPEARANCE OF BEING LOWER MILD BUT COOL MOD, GAS FILLER SHAVED DUE TO TANK MOVE. THE BED HAS HAD A TREATMENT ALSO REVERSED TAIL GATE ROLL PAN POWDEREDCOATED BLACK TAILIGHTS WOOD BED FLOOR NEEDS FINISH DUE TO RELOCATION OF THE GAS TANK,FLUSH BED LID, STAKE POCKETS AND END CAPS ALL SHAVED, LOUVERS IN THE BED STEPS. 15X8 WITH BFG'S IN FRONT 15X14 WITH MICKEYS IN THE REAR,COOL RUNNING DRIVING TRUCK UNFORTUNATELY LIFE MOVES ON HEALTH AND FAMILY ARE PRIORTY SO WE'VE DECIDED TO SELL OUR 66.
